👍👍 Top notch shop. Owner and staff have significant knowledge across MTB racing touring etc. Halfway through 3 week cycling tour of Northern Thailand and they were able to upgrade my tires, hand some repairs and full tune up within a day. Quality and a smile from owner, S̄īchmphū. Look forward to bring... People often mention bike, shop,

I rented these 2 bikes here. Overall, in good condition, breaks, gear and suspension were fine. However, both had axe problems. I had to return the former because, on my way to the Elephant Sanctuary, the bike couldn't go up the Chiang Rai's small hills so I wasted one day as it was too late too change bike at the shop. When I returned the bike, the lady apologized, checked it and kindly offered me a refund. However, she put it back with the other bikes for rent so be mindful when renting. The later had the same problem but at least wasn't as bad as the former. I couldn't go to the Mae Sai waterfall because the bike wasn't reliable. I paid 200THB for 24hrs rental, other rentals have them at 100THB and a scooter costs the same. Make your own conclusions, I am not going back there again.

I had to get my bicycle assembled after shipping it from overseas. They did it quickly, professionally, and free of charge. Highly recommended.

A very well stocked bicycle hire shop in Chiang Rai, on a main road, north of the city centre. I did not use the shop and it has a real mixture of reviews, so I put it in the middle, but thought it was well worth a visit.

Had my bike serviced and sent back to Bangkok after a long 900km cycle. They were so friendly, fast and detailed. I had my bike back in Bangkok the very next day and it was cleaned and packed really well. Prices are great. I'm really happy and will go back when I'm in Chiang Rai!

A truly delightful experience. The owner speaks excellent English and from my first phone call to enquire about booking a service I felt she genuinely cared ..... and she did! When I took my touring bike in for a service pre heading to Laos the staff listened to what I wanted and the result was beyond my expectations. Brake problem, that had persisted through two Australian services, was fixed and my bike came back same day looking better than new and riding like it. Some adjustments were made to my bike and the owner was keen I fully loaded it and returned ...... which I did and there were no problems. That's never happened in any bike shop I have used. Ended up buying some extra bike gear as the shop has a good range at great prices .... including the service. They do bike hire, and a quick look at the bikes indicated they are all in good condition. No hesitation in recommending Fat Free Bicycles. I don't generally do Google reviews, but sometimes it just has to be done..... this is one instance.

friendly guys but prices for rentals completely out of this world.. only tourists would rent here and I blame them for the high prices. Asked for two weeks and was offered 350 a day for a road bike that is very used and has a value of maybe 10k. You can easily rent two scooters for the same price 😅

Strong recommendation. Chompoo, the friendly owner of Fat Free Bike Shop in Chiang Rai, who speaks excellent English (she studied abroad), is quite knowledgeable and was very helpful in solving an issue I had with my bike (pictured). Choice of bikes is large (200 bikes are on assembled display). If she doesn't have the part, she can probably get it. Great place. Great prices. Highly recommended.
