One of the best modern museums I have crossed in my life. The collections that we saw were sooo well displayed and so interesting. Spent hours there and enjoyed every minute. Keep it up for whoever is managing the place and choosing the art.

A very unique experience of art. The architecture of the whole building is art itself. Free entry for students and a big space for art to discover. Close to a shopping mall with also a nice coffee inside the museum. Museum Shop was very big with a lot of different books. Really enjoyed the visit.

It is the Pompidou Museum, so you expect boundary-pushing art, and that was sure the case on the 3rd floor of this museum. It had all kinds of digital arts that are trying to answer social and philosophical questions of life. A bonus was the ability to interact with the video-game-like art.... Like playing a game. Very fun for kids and family. On the second floor there was art by French artist Susanne Valadon. She focused on the human body and was the first artist to paint an unclothed man from the front. The exhibition is comprehensive and shows her entire oeuvre. Her art is bright, colourful and eye-catching. The first floor had contemporary, abstract art. Overall, definitely worth a visit, but I would recommend coming in early. I experienced quite a queue when it opened.

The museum’s design is amazing. But the quality of exhibited art works is not that impressive. It could have been somewhat educational if it was free, but it’s not. So you might like it if you’re REALLY into modern art, but otherwise don’t bother. P.S.: Added photos of the only few examples which seemed interesting.

The Centre Pompidou in Metz is an amazing museum that deserves more recognition. The artworks they showcase, ranging from classic to contemporary, are truly exceptional. The building itself is a masterpiece and worth a visit in its own right. Don't miss out on their museum shops, which are curated with great stuff. Highly recommended for art lovers and a hidden gem for visitors!

I'm a local, and it's one of my top five things to do here. I live in Metz and I go regularly to see "Le Pompidou" it all again. It's amazing and cool. I love all the exhibitions and also the activities and workshops they propose. It's a very creative environment. The staff is also very caring and willing to help or give you information. Come and marvel!

Elegant architecture. Srongly recommend you visiting a small room next to the main building, which is made of all kinds of recycled materials.

(Translated by Google) Lots of unused space two floors at the end of October. Too bad. The exhibitions are often very good and change regularly. Very beautiful exterior architecture which is starting to deteriorate. The staff are warm. There is a free cloakroom to leave bags. Access accessible to people with reduced mobility. Very spacious and well appointed. This museum is of an atypical architecture. To see if you go to Mezt.

This is nice museum to visit on weekend. The unique form building which is contracted by famous Japanese architect is not so small as it looks from the outside. The museum is not really clouded but they exhibit more interesting art than I expected. Worth to visit.

Centre Pompidou-Metz is a great contemporary art changeable exhibitions venue. Plus the building it self is a great architecture landmark, I hardly recommend everybody to visit it, whatever you are interested in contemporary art or not, there will be a reason for your joy there.

A to go spot Metz! Their exhibitions are just mind blowing! Of course it depends on the artist, but they do pick well! Do I dare to say it is better than Paris?

The Centre Pompidou-Metz is a captivating cultural institution that offers a broad and immersive experience for art enthusiasts. With its impressive architecture and thought-provoking exhibitions, it showcases the works of various artists, both renowned and emerging. The special exhibitions hosted at the Centre Pompidou-Metz add an extra layer of excitement and provide a fresh perspective on contemporary art. Located just a few hundred meters from the center of Metz, it's conveniently accessible and definitely worth a visit. Prepare to be inspired, challenged, and transported into the vibrant world of modern art at the Centre Pompidou-Metz.

Simply amazing! Inspiring, contemporary art museum. The building itself, although should be better maintained, is quite impressive. Inside, the rooms are well kept and the staff is helpful. Nice little museum shop, restaurant and useful lockers on the spot as well. Definitely unmissable when visiting Metz.

I guess the rating of your visit will depend on the exhibition but I really enjoyed this museum. The architecture of the building is nice and I highly recommend visiting the 'bonne chance' exhibition. Staff is very friendly and facilities are generally good. Be aware then restaurant is closed for renovation and the cafe has limited food options.

Centre Pompidou Metz is a stunningly designed exposition building. Any architect should at least have been in it to value how design can open up to possibilities, instead of dictating usage. The way expositions are facilitated by the buildings structure and its surrounding, and how curators used it in their summer-expositions of 2023 ("Bonne Chance", "Worldbuilding", "Repetition", etc.), was like wandering in a dream. Thank you!

Definitely a place worth visiting. The tickets at 7eur offer a lot of culture and self reflection. The center has the same name as the bigger cultural center in Paris, the form of the building is much different though, white roof with a wavy feeling to it. I absolutely recommend you to visit Centre Pompidou once in Metz.

The second and third floor were closed and we have not been told this at the entrance - I would suggest to ask in advance as it is not worth it to pay € 12.00 to see only half of it. The restaurant was closed as well even though before going there we Googled it to check if we can have a coffee there.

Modern designed building which constrasts with the surrounds. Unusual interior space which is divided over several levels. Events include modern art exhibits, art-related activities for children (typically by reservation), exhibition visits and screenings. Various entry-ticket options including. Gift shop. Toilets. Elevators to all levels. Near large shopping centre and restaurants.

Great museum and a must see if you're in the area. The exhibitions always temporary and they sadly don't have a fixed collection at that location so sometimes the shows can be a bit boring or too focused on a specific theme which is a shame

  • 4/5 Merel de V. 1 year ago on Google
The building is pretty and the expositions are interesting. Unfortunately, the information about the works of art is placed very low on the walls in a teeny tiny font. My eyes are good, but this was really designed for children with perfect eyes? Overall experience: good!

  • 3/5 Petr S. 1 year ago on Google
The strangest thing is they let you wait outside, all lights switched off, looks deserted, no signs of any kind as e.g. "public entrance, wait here", or info about what's on tonight and tomorrow, nothing. What turned out to be the main entrance looks more like a garage door which is kept locked until someone opens it. So, don't get confused, ask someone. Not terribly inviting, that's what I wanted to say.

Interesting... probably if you like modern art. Well. Maybe if modern art is not that much your thing (like it is for me), the highlight is the young woman singing (opera) as a "gift" to a random chosen visitor of the museum (in the first room on the ground floor). She does this every 10 minutes or so, super cool

Although with the nature of their changing exhibits and lack of a permanent exhibition it would be difficult to recommend this museum for its collections, the overall presentation-style of the museum - which is clean and incorporates various multimedia elements - is appealing and makes good use of the available exhibition spaces. In addition, the museum is worth a visit for the building itself, with its impressive architecture - if only viewed from the outside. Lastly, the museum contains a shop, restaurant, cafe, and a children's workshop where kids from ages 5-13 can create their own artworks when the regular museum visit gets too long for them. Taken together, this makes for an enjoyable museum visit, no matter what is currently on exhibit.

It's hard to review this gallery because the exhibits are all temporary. I can say that when we went all the exhibits were quite disappointing and didn't even really fall under the "modern-art" category. Additionally one of the floors was closed so we had even less to see. Nonetheless, it's a really beautiful building and art is subjective. I'd recommend going, but check the website to see what exhibits they have first.
