Hanoian
here.
Really
really
wanted
to
like
this
place
with
“Hanoi”
in
its
name.
Everything
is
on
point
—
amazing
vibes,
great
decor,
and
great
service,
except
the
food
tastes
nothing
like
it.
I
ordered
a
chicken
curry
marmite
dish,
described
in
the
menu
as
“prepared
in
Hanoian
style”.
Presentation
is
great,
portion
is
generous
too,
but
the
taste
is
just…
bland.
I
didn’t
taste
any
fish
sauce
(nuoc
mam
—
the
core
pillar
of
any
Vietnamese
dish)
in
there,
and
that
was
such
a
let
down.
Whoever
is
in
charge
of
art
direction/branding
for
the
chain
is
doing
an
amazing
job
however
—
decor,
theme,
imagery,
prints,
etc,
but
for
it
to
work
the
food
needs
to
match
the
expectation.
“Promise
made
-
promise
kept”,
you
shouldn’t
be
unfamiliar
with
this
core
principle
of
marketing…
