The food is really nice. Finally I have a not-that-salty ramen. The soup is also nice. All kind of sushi is delicious. You can taste the fragrance of fish and rice with each bite and even after it. Also, the restaurant is in 2nd floor, we can see the roof of Todaji with large dining space. Really recommend this restaurant, especially for Taiwanese. (the flavor really fit into my taste)

I was really excited to go there after reading all of the reviews and seeing the pictures of the restaurant, but unfortunately I left disappointed. Maybe I've tried to many good meals before in Sapporo and Osaka, but for me food was correct, but nothing more. Food looks pretty, restaurant has really nice interior design and view, but that's it. Salmon was overdone and over salted, tempura wasn't crispy and got soft, wet and tasteless after few minutes on a table. Tofu had an interesting taste, but I wasn't crazy about it either. Everything else was just proper. In general, food wasn't bad but for sure not worth it's price and waiting for in 20min line as I did. I would give it 2,5stars if I could. I've decided on 2 in order to increase the amount of people reading my review, so they can choose a better place to eat.

Local restaurant with traditional old style nigiri sushi (wrapped in a bamboo leaf). It has a slight different taste, it is worth a try! The menu has different varieties of sets ti choose from, but you can always order à la carte.

The view from the restaurant is very nice. If you wanna try local Nara food, I really recommend this place. (It's better if you reserve it beforehand since there's a lot of people coming)

I visited there 19th September 2018 for lunch. In conclusion, this restaurant was very satisfactory. I ordered Special Set "Yume". Both Kakinoha sushi and Izasa sushi was very delicious and side menus were very good. If I visit Nara again, I will get there again. If you visit this restaurant alone and fortunate enough, you can see Todaiji(東大寺) through the window.

Sushi rice seasoned with vinegar, with slices of salmon or salted mackerel on top, wrapping with leaf. I dun reli like it actually, but I heard that this sushi is specialty in Nara....good to try but this is first time and final. One thing, for the environment inside, I will give 5 stars, nice view, clean and tidy.

It was the best food I've ever tasted in Japan, thank you. We don't eat pork and raw fish, so we ordered steamed fish, the price is 1200-1700¥. They also treat you to a welcome green tea, which is so nice.

Was a last minute selection after visiting the Nara park. Had to say I didn't know about the sushi speciality. Steamed sushi rolled in persimmon leaves. Was an interesting imparted flavour from the leaves - both smeel and taste. Very interesting experience!

The combination of the rain with the hot bowl of somen made the meal extremely delightful. Their variation of sushi is exquisite and unique in their way. The view I had gives a nice of the street, indulging a hearty meal over a tranquil street is amazing.

Easy to find at the main cross junction before reaching Todaiji. They ordered 1 set of their special sushi which comes wrapped in persimmon leaves. The waitress politely reminded us not to eat the leaves. Must have been some tourists happily munching away the whole piece with the leaves 😅 Another set was the special set that came with the works such as tempura & chirashi sushi etc. Overall the meal was satisfying and it wasn't heavy or oily.

This is a great option to have lunch while you visit the Nara park, is in the first floor and we’ve waited 15 minutes on a Tuesday. There are some menu set options which are great to try everything. The view was great and the service too.

First time eating this - Kakinoha-sushi, a local dish of Nora, something i learned recently in this trip. So with this in mind, I came to this restaurant early. Thankfully, it was not crowded but became full within the hour. The place is quiet and welcoming. The food is pretty and well plated. The taste is different from the usual sushi that I had. I find it tasty and heartwarming delicious. Overall, i like the dishes and highly recommend it for anyone visiting Nara.

Amazing attention to detail, beautiful presentation, and flavor that is full of fresh sea and minerals! More than just food, this is art! And if that wasn’t enough, a beautiful view of Todai-ji temple with a mountainous backdrop. Don’t miss this one when you come to Nara!

If you've appreciation for Japanese food, this place is a steal. Dropped by on a weekday lunch without any queues. Lunch set was impeccable for the price paid +/-Y2,000/ pax. Great quality, light, refined local dishes. Worth the visit!

The set had the persimmon leaf wrapped sushi, tempura and somen. It was such a fulfilling meal after all the walking around the many temples. Very comfortable seating and clean toilets.

One of the best restaurants we had in Nara. We opted for two sets of food, allowing us to sample a variety of dishes. The service we received was exceptionally outstanding. Moreover, the restaurant's convenient location directly across from the park allowed us to indulge in a meal immediately after exploring its beauty. I highly recommend this establishment!

No queue when we visited on a Friday 2pm in mid-Jan. Food came quickly and was good - some side dishes were abit cold. Peaceful environment to rest.

(Trip was made back then on 21 Nov 2019, 2 years before the Covid-19 Pandemic hit) Since Kakinoha Zushi is one of Nara’s specialty, we just had to try it. Bought it as our breakfast for the train ride to Ise the following morning. Nothing fancy (hey, it’s preserved sushi) but it was surprisingly flavourful and tasty. Makes for an interesting souvenir.

The restaurant is on the way to Todai-ji temple. Go up 2nd FL to queue. One person must order minimum one set or dish. You can try local nara food here.

Delicious somen, and the Nara local sushi is worth a try. Great views from the window seat.

I ordered the Izasa sushi set and was not disappointed, very good and nice looking. I had to wait about 20 minutes to sit but after that the service was very fast.

The best Japanese food in my trip. The restaurant is in the second floor facing the roof of the temple. The food is excellent, especially Yume Set, serve with many unique small players. The price is Y2100, reasonable price for that quality. Must try

bought a six-piece box for a picnic in the park. but the deer is very eager so couldn't really sit down to enjoy it. sushi itself was good though.

First off, this is a place for tourists. Keep that in mind, and please read through to the end of this review. The tempura and somen were ok but not exceptional by any means. -1 star. Secondly the service is also not great, I had to ask for refills each time. -1 star. Yes I know my Japanese isn't great, I dont think that really makes me THAT scary though, -1 star. It was really cold outside and getting to eat the Nara style sushi with a view was a nice experience while warming up! +1 star. The set was a fair price for what you get so I would still recommend this place, just keep in mind you only show up for the sushi and the warm seat.

I got the kakinoha sushi and somen set. Both were really good, plus I’ve never had that kind of sushi before in my 6+ years of living in Japan, so it was definitely worth my time
