We were staying at a hotel nearby to get ready for our flight home tomorrow. Hungry for some dinner and feeling adventurous, we decided to try this tempura-ya out. It's such a small and humble mom and pop place. Nobody in the shop but us and the shop owners when we arrived. They don't speak a lick of English, and the menu is in Japanese only. We asked for recommendations through a translating app, and they were happy to give them. We ordered a delicious katsu shrimp set and some kind of deluxe tempura set. It really hit the spot, and we're glad we could have a warm meal before our flight tomorrow. They made everything from scratch. Cash only. Give this place a try. You can't go wrong with homemade tempura.

Lately I haven’t been as adventurous in my travels due to the cold weather. Luckily I have Google maps to show me where the nearby restaurants are. If Google hadn’t shown me I would have never found it as I had to walk up a dirt road to find the place. The workers didn’t speak a word of English and the menu on the wall was on paper and hand written in Japanese. The inside was quaint with some small table and chairs along with traditional Japanese low table seating. I had to use Google translate to order, but it may have been the best chicken Katsu that I’ve I ever had. The presentation was excellent, along with the food flavor and quality, and the portions generous. I honestly ordered and ate way too much, and the bill was under 1150 Yen($12) cash only. I’ll take this as a win for a tiny little micro adventure. Cheers 🥂

Stir-fried meat and vegetables set meal 730 yen + fried egg 200 yen + natto 100 yen it's the best. There are quite a lot of menu items, the portions are perfect, and of course the seasoning is delicious. A great old-fashioned set meal restaurant that you'll always want to go to.

[Narita City Cutlet Curry Dinner] ◉Shop Kyomi Shokudo 📍Narita City, Chiba Prefecture I visited Gomi Shokudo, a restaurant located on the outskirts of Narita City that has an atmosphere that takes you back in time to the Showa era. There were two groups of customers who arrived at the store after 5:40 p.m. There are 7 table seats and 3 raised seats. ◉Item ★Katsu curry W 770 yen ☆Katsu curry The freshly fried cutlet on top of the warm rice is thick and comes with two pieces, so it's very filling. The crispy batter and tender pork have just the right amount of fat, so you can feel the flavor of the pork and it's delicious. The curry is medium spicy and easy to eat, and it's nice to have thinly sliced meat in the roux! ◉Impressions The soothing sound of frying pans coming from the kitchen will stimulate your appetite! There is a regular cutlet curry and a cutlet curry W, and the W has twice the meat and is more filling, so it was delicious and filling. There are only a few windows, so if the curtains are closed, you may find it difficult to see the atmosphere inside and find it difficult to enter, but it's a very old store with a tasteful atmosphere that is irresistible for Showa retro fans. I was able to have a relaxing meal. There is a wide variety of menu items, including Western dishes such as fried foods and hamburgers, as well as noodles and rice dishes such as ramen. It seems like it's run by a husband and wife team, but they were friendly and interacted easily with other customers (probably local families). Thank you for the meal. ◉Address 162 Yoshikura, Narita City, Chiba Prefecture ◉Access About 29 minutes walk from the east exit of Narita Station on the Keisei Electric Railway Keisei Main Line.

It's been a long time since I've had cutlet curry (lol) It's not ◯◯ on the mountain pass, but a retro restaurant suddenly appears in such a place. What is the difference between Katsu Curry W and Katsu Curry? When I asked about it...it was simply a difference in the size of the cutlet. Tonkatsu being fried each time...the crackling sound of oil splashing from the cooking area. Good, grin! The curry itself is low in salt and doesn't taste like curry at all! It's even better! Now, the pork cutlet...Ah! ! It's freshly fried...but I want to eat it soon! I ate it. The meat itself had a bit of salt and was quite strong. I guess it was at a time when the amount of frying oil was a little above its peak... But the pickled vegetables that came with it were really delicious~♪Maybe it's the homemade original?

I entered the store around 1pm on Monday. It seems that cars can be parked in front of and next to the store. There were three groups of customers. I was worried because there were too many menus, but I ordered a set of fried rice, cold tofu, fried egg, tanmen and mini curry. The shop seemed to be run by an aunt and her husband, so we had to wait quite a while from the time we ordered until the food came out. When the food arrived, I thought I should have made it a large serving if that was all there was to it, but I'm glad I didn't. I was hungry, so I stuffed my cheeks all at once, and my stomach became so full afterwards that I felt sore on the way home. The checkout is in front of the kitchen. I told the lady what I had eaten and looked at the notepad with the table number and order written on it as I paid the bill. Eating all this costs 1,700 yen. The seasoning is also perfect. Next time too.

Splendid service with very well prepared meal. Karaage was very good in my opinion. Friendly. We don’t speak the language but the lady patron did what she could to help us.

This little restaurant was an amazing find! It’s a small, authentic Japanese mom & pop shop serving a wide variety of proper Japanese food. My party got the ramen set, chicken karaage, and chicken katsu, along with drinks (including a glass of sake!) for only about 3500 yen! I would have gladly paid twice that. Despite the cheap price, the quality was excellent, everything perfectly prepared. The proprietors were kind and attentive, and at 6:15pm, we were the only customers there. All in all it was a really great experience, and I hope I have the opportunity to go again sometime. Note that some Japanese ability will be helpful; don’t expect any English here. But you can probably get by pointing to pictures from these reviews and saying “kore o kudasai.” If you want an authentic Japanese meal at a great price, you can’t miss this restaurant!
