Narutoenden Park

Tourist attraction Park

👍 It's a park that no one seems to know about. There is a deserted observation deck and objects from the salt fields.

You can tour Japan's oldest salt farm hut. It seems that it is not open to the public, so those wishing to tour must apply in advance to Naruto City Hall.

There is nothing there except the Botton toilet, and ball games and golf are prohibited. As a walking park, it's pretty good for adults. The roads are not well maintained, so strollers, senior cars, etc. are better off in the general park. The weeds and fallen leaves are left unattended, so I wonder if this is a park without an administrator.

It's not very big, but there's ample parking, there are still some houses where salt was made, and the sea is right in front of you. Perfect for a walk.

Tokushima was once a salt producing area along with Sanuki and Ako. You can see valuable buildings that still retain traces of that era. It's strange that you can't go inside. I would like you to publish it.

Wouldn't it be better to manage it properly? It looks like it's going to collapse like this.

The area where the park is located is a residential area, so this is the first time I have heard of this kind of space and the Fukunaga family residence (a historical heritage site). The historical heritage site is small, but individuals cannot enter it; groups of 10 or more must apply in advance.

The Fukunaga family residence is an important cultural property. It seems that salt fields were farmed here, and there are traces of that time. The building has a taste of old history. However, as of April 30, 2020, perhaps due to the effects of the coronavirus, the area has not been maintained and is overgrown with grass. Also, you can't go inside. Although it is an important cultural property, it is a shame that it is not well maintained. We have held tours of the Fukunaga family residence in the past, so we may resume them once the coronavirus situation subsides. I wish I could clean it up then.

Sometimes the old people mowing the grass are aggressive so I don't go near them.

You can see historic beach houses. Unfortunately, it's open all year round, so you can't see the inside.
