Gangs Ghat are the ghats on the bank of river Godavari in Panchvati area in Nashik . As this river is as sacred as Ganga , local people call Godavari as Ganga , hence Ganga ghat. These stepped ghat are thronged by pilgrims on auspicious days ... for taking a dip in the river. All ghats up to one km in length are used for bathing during famous Kumbh Mela. But cleanliness of ghats needs improvement & local authorities should look in to it. Ganga Ghat of Nashik is actually a ghat of Godavari River. The water here is not very clean. A lot of old temples are near to this ghat.

Best holy place on the bank of GODAWARI RIVER. It's also known as RAM KUND AND GANGA GHAT. MAHAKUMBH MELA hold once in every 12 years at here. It's not only place, there is many devotees and LORD RAMA HISTORY. One point is negative about cleanliness. Need to upgrade place and tight security for clean program.

True experience of Sanatan culture of Indian Sanskriti. The detailed information about the places mentioned in "Ramayan" is mentioned here. If you want to challenge the beliefs about the existence of Ramayan or if you believe it's just a mythologically depicted story, request you to visit this place and decide for your own existence. I truly mesmerized and believe that our ancestors are true legends and we are just foolish creatures to question their existence.

Very famous ghat from Nashik. This is a place where Kumbh Mela takes place once in a 12 years. Developed nicely but keeping cleanliness is always challenge as few thousand devotees visits every day for performing the rituals and dirt created out of that is simply unmanageable as overall cleanliness awareness of these visitors is very low. Good place to visit as pilgrimage. Many temples , idols are all across the river basin. Holy deep at this place is having great importance in Hindu religion.

Beautiful place, all around so many temples, mostly Lord Shiva's temples, I visited first time and that day was Chhath Puja, so many people doing puja, and there was too much traffic.. Heritage place with lots of old temples, Me and my friends spent some time around this area, really a nice environment.

Panchavati is a revered and spiritually significant area located in Nashik, Maharashtra, India. This tranquil locale holds immense importance in Hindu mythology and is renowned for its natural beauty and cultural significance. The name "Panchavati" is derived from the Sanskrit words "pancha," meaning five, and "vata," referring to banyan trees. It is believed to be the place where Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Lakshmana stayed during their exile in the epic Ramayana. The five ancient banyan trees in the area are said to be witness to their time spent here. One of the most revered sites in Panchavati is the Sita Gufa (Sita's Cave), believed to be the spot where Sita was kidnapped by Ravana. The nearby Kapaleshwar Temple and Kalaram Temple are also significant pilgrimage destinations. Aside from its religious importance, Panchavati is known for its serene ambiance, with the Godavari River flowing nearby and lush greenery all around. The beautiful and well-maintained gardens along the riverbank make it a peaceful place for reflection and worship. For travelers seeking a blend of spirituality and natural beauty, Panchavati in Nashik is a place where mythology and serenity converge, offering a unique and spiritually enriching experience.

Though an auspicious place, it lacks hygiene and facilities. Though there's enough water in the river nearby, there's no water in the restrooms and in the washbasins. Parking is grossly insufficient. But people gotta go and do what they have to at this holy place.

Main place in Nashik.. One of the most important places belonging to the epic Ramayana and one has to visit nashik and places like this if they wanna see and experience the stories of ramayana which has taken place here...the ghat is not at all maintained by the government.. No facilities to change clothes or such.

Visited the Ram Kund on the day of Vaikunth Chaturdashi together with my aai (mother) to take pavitra (holy) darshan and offer floating diva (cotton lit light) to maa (mother) Godavari river. A highly soothing experience. Daily aratee of maa Godavari at 7:00pm to 7:15pm A holy event occurs every evening. Visit the place 9pm onwards, it's safe and very cool ambience and give a pleasure of getting dissolved by the surrounding holy and calmness of maa Godavari and you are able to relax yourself naturally.

This place is my heart ❤️ the amount of experience & the beauty of nashik people got to see is only at here ..we called nashik the holy city this is why the Panchavati ghat or so called godakath is full of temples including historical temples such as kapaleshwar, kalaram mandir etc ..on every Monday I used to come to kapaleshwar spiritual arti infact many nashikars came out here to hear that spiritual arti on Monday from 7pm to 12pm in the midnight ..& trust me it is the bestest experience of spiritualism of mine form last 3 to 4 yrs ..I used to came here from childhood but didn't have idea or value about the spirituals or history ..may be because of my maturity ..that time I didn't know the true values of it ..but as the year passes I experience that spiritual arti once when I passed out from my 10th exam ..the day I am not going to forget for lifetime ,since then whenever I feel disturbed, lonely, sad ,etc I go there & sit for the couple of hours & you can't believe I genuinely got the answers for my problems here ..I feel so blessed to be a nashikar & have a great history of it to learn from it .. #mynashik❤️✨

This place is famous because God stayed here for long time.n there is blessings of God . It is located in nashik city near Dwarka circle main road. People visit here for moksh of dead people by flushing burned ashes of people (ashti) . Do Puja n mantra tantra for better next new life of that person who is dead. That's it. Thank you🙏.

The most worshipped river of Godavari has turned in to a suwar. The Ghaat where Sita maa and lord Rama lived years ago has met very brutal fate. The ghats are extremely dirty and neglected by the government. At one hand Ayodhya has been celebrated but Panchvati is in to dusts. Most holly place is smelling of gutter water and the water is dirty filthy green sewage water. There is a prayag there and the river Kapila is just a small stream of gutter. Absolute disaster for my faith and my religion belief.

Historical place with ancient monuments but could use some cleaning and preservation of those monuments. Proper Conservation of old monuments is an important issue to address in every heritage precinct along with taking care of natural heritage, the river basin.

Also famously known as Ram-Kund, people visit here especially for last rites pooja and 'asthi-visarjan' after the cremation is done. Many pandits are present here to help with the proceedings. However make sure you deal with them before engaging them into any pooja. The pooja hardly lasts 30 mins. There is a flowing Godavari river here and you can take a swim or dip yourself into the cold running water. There is dedicated place where the asthi visarjan is done into the river. There are also salons nearby which trim or cut hair for this proceedings. The atmosphere of the place is always lively and the crowd is always in search of one or the other thing. Place to eat is hard to find here. Parking is available here but gets occupied very soon. Make sure you visit early in the morning to get yourself parked.

Panchvati is situated on the left banks of sacred river Godavari in Nashik city. Close to Kalaram temple there are some very old and lofty banyan trees which are believed to be sprung from five banyans which gave its name to Panchvati. The name ‘Panchvati’ is derived from the words Panch which means five and Vati which means banyan tree. This is the site where Sita Gumph or Sita’s Cave is situated . Kalaram temple , Kapaleshwar temple, Ganga Godavari temple, Sunder Narayan temple, Talkuteshwar temple, temple, NilkantheshwarGoraram mandir Murlidhar Mandir,Tilbhandeshwar mandir, Balaji temple, Sandvyachi devi temple, Vitthal temple, Pataleshwar temple,Naroshankar temple, Ramkund, Karthikswami temple,Dutondya maruti , Katya maruti temple, Panchmukhi Hanuman temple , Bhadrakali temple,Katpurthala monuments are located in and around Panchavati area.Nashik has earned name of the Banaras of western India due to large no of temples. It is said that lord Shri Ram and Sita along with Laxman stayed at Panchavati for some time. Thus Panchavati has gained holy importance. There are five Banyan (Vad) trees and hence the area is called Panchavati.Nearby is Sita Gumpha (cave) where Sita is said to have stayed for some time.

I was very excited to visit this place due to its historical significance. So many temples are nearby. But, the place is not clean at all. It needs serious attention from the municipal corporation. Although, the kalaram mandir that is just 5 mins away is excellent and very peaceful.

Experiencing the ghat of a historical and traditional river while understanding the significance of it, was one of a kind. Even though the water was unsterile, but still nurturing the decades-old customs is commending of some sort. Parking shouldn't be an issue and you get to explore many temples in and around the ghat.

Quite crowded on weekends & auspicious dates. Good walk in the ghat though a little litterred. A beautiful statue of Lord Hanuman will make you stop on your tracks. Take a dip in the river, but be careful of the steps.
