The station is over a hundred years old. Serviced by amazingly accommodating friendly staff. The staff was so customer centric and provided answers to every question asked by my eleven year old son. I learned so much about train travel in the yesteryear. Well maintained and properly managed Negombos railway station is surely a tourist attraction. The station Master Asanka Jayawikrama is friendly and willing to take you on a journey even prior to embarking on a train ride. The head Station Master is Mr. Ananda Fernando. After a week I called the station to get some information to include in my review. I was pleasantly surprised when the friendly voice answering the phone was Asankas. As usual he answered all the queries. Train enthusiasts Negombo railway station is a must visit place.

The Negombo railway station is a famous Railway station in the Sri Lanka Railways and 24th station on the Puttalam line from Colombo fort. Nice amd Small and well maintained Railway Station. You cn get trains heading to Puththalam - Colombo. This is a main station on this Costal-railway route.

Negombo is a nice city which is situated close by Katunayake International airport. 🛫🛩🛩. Many tourists hotels are there as it is one of the tourists attraction of the Island.

This is a major railway station which is located in Puttalam Line. Every train operating on this track stops here. The station is clean but needs some renovation. But the facilities are averagely fine. There is no any spacious car park. There is no canteen in the station. There are plenty of ATMs, cafes near the station. If you are a tourist and want to catch a train to Colombo in the morning, it might not be a good idea. The morning trains are Express trains which are packed with office commuters. You will hardly find any seats if you catch the 6.30 a.m Express train and 7.15 a.m Express train. But theres a train which starts from Negombo at 6.50 a.m and it will have seats to sit on. Specially try to avoid the 6.30 a.m Express because it's really packed and it doesn't stop anywhere on the way to Colombo.

Negombo Railway Station is a most popular station on the Puttalam line from Colombo fort. This station is located between Kurana and Kattuwa railway stations. Three are three platforms named 1,2 and 3. For enter all passengers have to buy a valid ticket. All kind of ticket can buy from the station ticket counter. Most of the time all the trains are stopped here. This station is very busy place. Lots of passengers are get in and out from here. But it is not crowded and very calm place during the normal time. Distance from main cities; Colombo -37.5km Katunayake - 7.9km

Small station with limited facilities.

It is what it is, cheap transport for people traveling to and from work. With numerous stops along the way to Fort Colombo it's a good way to experience every day travel for the commutor. If you're on at the first stop and can be fortunate to have a seat you are lucky. Other wise it's standing all the way into Colombo. It's a bit of history stepping back into that time of train travel. For me it was a good experience. I'm fortunate that I don't need to do this daily.

Well very efficient and friendly service at the ticket counter. Quite safe at the station. Very clean too.

Negombo is one of the most attractive places in Sri Lanka. There are many luxurious hotels available on the sea side. Plenty of restaurants can be found. Easy access to the city either by train or bus. Highway bus facilities available from different destinations.
