I really like this place, the rates are very reasonable, the rooms are decent & there's a WiFi router in every room which meanz faster internet for everyone! Unfortunately either the cleaning staff is negligent or sketchy. I didn't have a blue ink pen never mind one that exploded all over the duvet on the bed, yet the owner said I did & showed me a picture of an ink covered duvet.

This is a classic motel, The rooms were cool, clean, and had great beds. There are some dog friendly rooms available. I was surprised how quiet it was for a long weekend. I would definitely recommend for people visiting the Nelson area

Great views and access in and out with your gear. Hotel staff was always helpful. Lots of dining in all directions along with Whitewater ski resort just a few miles down the road. Perfect for our snowboarding trip!

This place is too expensive regarding to the services they offer. The floor was dirty. The air conditioning and refrigerator were not working. There were no microwaves in the room but the owner was trying to justify this fault. He was lying to justify his property ‘s fault.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Villa motel it's a throw back to the great motor motels of days gone by, great service from the front desk to very clean, comfortable and and well appointed rooms, in a great location to Nelson and surrounding areas of the kootenay area. You will enjoy your stay here..

Worst place I have ever seen. The air conditioning was not working. Most probably the management authority provided a lower capacity (1 ton instead of 2 ton AC) air conditioning system for each room. Another weird thing was my room did not have any Microwaves! When I complained to the owner about this problem then he was trying to say that in Nelson, I need to reserve a room with a kitchen to get a microwave in the room. He was lying because I came to Nelson before and haven’t got such a weird experience. I went to Saskatoon, Regina, and all over Alberta and British Columbia but did not get such an awful experience. For Canada, it is standard to have a refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine in a hotel/motel room. I stayed in more than 50 rented accommodations in Canada but haven't heard such lame excuses before. I want to complain against this accommodation to the proper authority. Can someone let me know how to complain against this motel?

I don't typically leave reviews but felt like I had to because I had such a great experience. Sadly I can't remember his name but the man at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. He even hooked me up with a beer from his personal stash after we got chatting. The rooms are what you would expect from a good motel. Nice and clean with everything you need and nothing you don't. Nice and cool AC was perfect too. I highly recommend the Villa Motel in Nelson. I'll definitely be back next time i'm rolling through Nelson.

We stayed in Nelson about a week ago, having stayed at a chain hotel in town and not having a great experience, this time coming back through Nelson we wanted a more ma and pa type feel, a motel where you could park outside of your room... Not like the experience we had last time in nelson. Found the Villa motel just outside of the welcome to Nelson sign before you cross the orange bridge, the young man at check-in was extremely friendly and nice, very accommodating. Our room was perfect! With the exception of the room being a little bit too warm, everything was great. We had a kitchenette that included a toaster oven, a toaster, two burners, coffee maker, microwave and a full size fridge with freezer. Bathtub was missing the drain plug, otherwise bathroom was spacious. Internet was very strong and fast, good a variety of TV channels. Beds were very comfortable and had a good night's sleep. Rooms and bedding were clean, it was quite quiet overnight except for a train going through at 4:06 a.m. that really echoes across the water. We felt the price was very fair for what you received and would definitely return if we were this way again. Much much much much much better experience and value than the more expensive chains in town

Cheap, clean, friendly. Excellent customer service. Pet friendly. Beach access less than half a block, perfect place to walk the dog. The managers where extremely polite. Neighborhood is a little rough and noisey but nothing worth complaining about.

The look of the motel put us off at first. We had chosen a 2 bedroom suite which worked really well. The rooms although dated were very clean, the beds were very comfortable. The motel was full for the long weekend and many people were enjoying the evening outside. We thought it may be noisy but it had to be one of the quietest motels ever. Check in was friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly with lots of parks close by.

Clean large room. Room had a great little kitchen area with a stove and full size fridge. Bathroom was very nice and clean. This motel was recently renovated and upgraded. Each room has a table with 2 chairs outside. Beautiful view of Nelson and the water. Located right off the hiway at the bridge. Staff are very friendly. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

This place was super cozy. Love motels. Park right outside your door. Walk up, let yourself in. The beds were super comfy. AC worked wonderfully. As it was so hot when we were there. It's super close to everywhere. There is a little restaurant right there you can walk to. As well as the water that's not to far to walk too. There are wild raspberry bushes growing that I picked from every morning. The daily rate was very reasonable. The owner or manager was super friendly.

This place is awesome. Lady at front desk was very nice. The room is huge with a bedroom, kitchen and living room. Super clean and beds are comfortable.

Room was quite small. Barely had enough room to walk between the bed and tv on the wall. Had an updated bathroom. No microwave but had a fridge. Was a great location to amenities. Walmart and grocery stores were a 5 min drive. However the bed was dreadfully uncomfortable. I never had a good nights sleep because my back was so sore

The hotel has a great view and its room rates are very decent. Staff is very friendly and personable. The rooms may be dated but they are well maintained.

This is a great budget motel.... It's old but you can tell they work on updates and take pride in it. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you need. It's located just on the edge of town with great view of the lake and within easy walking distance of Lakeside Park. I'd definitely stay there again.

Stayed in the motel after we got into a crash and got towed to Nelson. The room 59 had a beautiful view, the bed was comfortable enough. For a motel at that price, the amenities were satisfying. The best part was the service of the staff. They acknowledged our troubled situation and were flexible with our checkout. We had to rebook our room and they made sure we were able to save some money. The hotel room service was good, prompt and people were eager to help. They advised us how we can order food, provided us with extra plates, knocked us to ask if we needed anything. Overall, it was very nice to be there. Definitely would visit and stay there again.

Made an unexpected late night stop in Nelson due to vehicle issues. Woody at Villa Motel was so accommodating. Even though it was late and he was on his way home, he went out of his way to make sure we had a place to stay for the night. Room was very clean, quiet, air conditioned. Excellent location. Can’t say enough about our positive experience at Villa Motel.

During our 4-day road trip to Nelson, my girlfriend and I chose Villa Motel as our accommodation, and we were pleased with our stay. The room, while not spotless, was generally clean and provided us with a comfortable bed to rest after our long drives. Throughout our stay, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring we had a pleasant experience. Both check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free, allowing us to focus on enjoying our time in Nelson. One aspect we appreciated about Villa Motel was their consideration for smokers. They had designated areas outside the building where smokers could indulge without affecting the comfort of other guests. Given our positive experience, my girlfriend and I will definitely keep Villa Motel in mind for future visits to Nelson. It served as a comfortable base for our road trip adventures, and the friendly service left a lasting impression on us.

The room is spotlesslyclean, very helpful and friendly staff, good location as well. I'll definitely stay here again if I need a motel in Nelson.

Never judge a book by its cover! Simply the best room my wife and I have had in Nelson B.C. The Villa Motel has had some bad luck over this last year with a fire last November and then Covid-19. The owner was amazing! The room was clean, comfortable and very spacious! We will definitely be back! To anyone who has posted negative comments about the Villa Motel: The shoe box we rented for $200+ a night is probably more your style! You won't be having champagne and caviar at this location. But you will get some of the best service, cleanliness and comfort you could possibly expect at the Villa Motel!

Just a decent place to stay. No airconditioning but it's cool enough now

A really nice motel. Great Continental breakfast. Very clean. Beautiful view. We tried to reserve a ground floor room with two beds but were told there was no special holds it was first come first serve then we get here and find out from others in our group they did special holds. We were the second in our group of 29 to get here. We weren't too happy about this but managed. Also people that have yappy annoying dogs should be placed upstairs far away from the middle rooms so that they don't about other guests. The motel itself is well looked after. They were even vacuuming off spider webs from the exterior. Wow. I complain a little but overall a really nice motel. I would definitely come back. This is a beautiful view from one of the balconies.

Very friendly gentleman that owns the motel. Room was clean and a good size. There is a BBQ to use which we enjoyed. A nice little beach a short walk away. A great place to stay.

The motel has everything you need, laundry room, communal Microwave, Fridges in every rom, super nice renovated bathrooms and the rooms are very clean and cozy. It looks like it's being renovated currently which is always a wonderful sign, The staff are caring and accommodating, our room always smelled so clean during our 10 day visit, after the housekeepers did their rounds, they checked in on us regularly as we practically lived there for Half a month. The owner is incredibly down to earth super chill, hilarious, and caring, checking in with us regularly as well to make sure we have everything we need. The location is great as well, just over the bridge into town (mind you everything in Nelson is close as it's a tiny town) right next door to an amazing Chinese food restaurant, and a 10 minute walk to the water. I can't wait to see what the finished renovation will be, as this is our go-to place to stay any time we are in town for work.

I will start by saying I travel across bc for work and stay in LOTs of hotels and motels and this motel by far is the best. I have been coming to this motel for years! I’m here a minimum of twice a year and every time is great. reading some of these last negative reviews makes me shake my head. This motel is great friendly staff, clean rooms and good size rooms. the beds are incredibly comfortable the owner is by far the most accommodating and friendly. If you wish to have a microwave the option is there for a kitchenette room. AC works great, I was there in 40• weather and it works just fine! Room was nice and cool. The price is super fair. It is super quiet! I work nights and I have NEVER been woken up by noise. I will most definitely be back over and over again.

The Villa has a lot of potential but when we stayed there for 1 night we were not impressed... the grounds around the motel were neglected. The room was dirty and neglected also. The curtains were coming off of the curtain rod, the lamp shade was falling off, the floors were filthy, I wiped everything down with lysol wipes which I do in every hotel. Staff were very good! But this motel needs a lot of help!
