I'm not sure about the rooms in the Hume hotel. But I gotta tell ya about the restaurant. We went for lunch today, and it was Freaking Awesome. We were around 3 pm, so not too busy. The service was spot on and attentive. The wife had the chicken and fig brie sandwich ( something like that, sorry). She said it was great even with GF bun. The boy had the clubhouse, which was also great. I had the 2 piece fish and chips. So I can yell more about that. First, the fries, definitely homemade and perfect crisp. The plate even came with a very fresh salad with homemade dressing. Now the fish. Halibut with a very light beer batter that stayed crisp to the last bite without drying out the fish. Oh, and the gravy, it had me frigging licking the bowl. It was so good. Sorry for the long-winded story, but when great is great!

The hotel staff are incredibly welcoming and the same can be said about The Library restaurant staff and overall vibe. The food portions were large, well made, and incredibly tasty. The live music from 6-9pm was also amazing and matched the energy of the dining room. The service was also very present, joyful, and very considerate as we had just arrived after a long drive from Vancouver. Strongly recommend visiting this historic establishment and having some delicious food whilst taking in the quaint and cosy town.

We returned to The Hume for dinner because our past experiences at its restaurant were so memorable! We were not disappointed, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Our food was served piping hot, and so tasty!!

Stayed in Minnie's room. Beautiful building. The waitresses were excellent and the front desk. Lovely overall experience in Nelson. Great Acai bowl. Might be a bit big but I am happy you offer a little granola.

Stayed here for our mini honeymoon over the weekend. Had a great stay, rooms were very nice, quiet and the beds were comfy. Staff at the front desk were very helpful. We ate in the General Store Restaurant 4 times over the course of the weekend and the food and service were awesome. We had Ethan as our server for both dinners and he was fantastic! Also, free cooked to order breakfast every morning was great! Will definitely stay here again next time we are in town

The Hume was wonderful! Right from check in to check out our experience was wonderful. The building has so much history and spectacular architecture. Loungs in the library for drink. Eat in the restaurant for a great meal. Or head the thr pub for a good time. The Hume had it all. We won't stay anywhere else from now on. Great job!

Stayed for a night and had charged my debit for incidentals on my request. Upon checking out, we inquired on the refund to debit. Front desk said no worries, we don't need the debit card. We inquired again as it is not a credit card and a refund should be required. Again, they insisted that it was not required. Half way through the day they call me back saying they will need my debit card. And that I will need to return. I was already 30 minutes out of town. What a joke. Waste of my time and money when all of this could've been avoided at CHECK OUT.

I decided to spend the night in Nelson recently and picked this hotel. Great choice. Welcomed warmly. I visited the spa, and the women working there were even more helpful. Erica, at the spa desk, provided me with local information on where to go and what to do. Turned into an absolute legend of a night! Thank you Hume and Erica.

We recently stayed at the Hume Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The room was lovely, service at both the front desk and restaurant were excellent. A full breakfast was included with our room which was a nice perk. It was an easy walk to the lake.

We came here for the brunch at the restaurant. The food was great. The portions were a nice size and had good flavours. The staff were also very accommodating since we were a bigger group.

My favorite place to go for dinner is the Library Lounge when I am in Nelson. My last few trips when I had dinner at the Library Lounge, I checked out their daily special. I must say I have not yet been disappointed. However, all of the food on the menu has been amazing. Why would one not want to try the special. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

The place had a wonderful historical building ambiance, along with very friendly staff. The rooms and sheets were clean, and they served a delicious breakfast. I'm definitely looking forward to staying there again on my next trip to Nelson. Recommend the spa there too!

We had to leave Kelowna Friday due to fires. In our time of need the staff were extremely accommodating to us and our four legged friends. From holding a room while we figured out what we were doing, to offering to help with bringing up our prized possessions, staff made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Then upon forgetting one of our prized possessions, they ensured its safety and retrieval. Thank you so much to everyone at the Hume for helping us through an extremely difficult time! We will be back.

This is an antique hotel with nicely remodelled but small rooms. Our β€œdeluxe” room had frosted glass windows because it faces a brick wall. Wish I knew that when I reserved. Also, location is central to downtown night life, so if you like that it’ll be perfect for you. The restaurant is excellent!

The best hotel in Nelson BC! I stayed here overnight for a business trip within Southern BC and it didn’t disappoint me. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, Receptionists were too nice (both check in and check out) excellent wifi and breakfast was delicious πŸ˜‹ Only downside was the small washroom but the view from my room paid it off. There’s a lot of restaurants in the vicinity but Their restaurant downstairs was great too!

This is our go to place for celebrations. We had our anniversary here and my wife's birthday this last weekend. Customer service is stellar, the food is the best in the Kootenays. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming, breakfast is included with the room. Rooms are charming and very clean, we are already booked for a stay in April. Thank you to everyone there for making our stay memorable!

Very nice hotel built in 1898. Renovated and just amazing. Few bars inside the hotel so you don't have to go far for drinks. My favourite thing was the complementary breakfast. I wasn't expecting it and if you went out for the same breakfast in Nelson it would cost you 15-20$. It changes daily. Be sure to check out the cool and creepy pictures around the hotel too. I would stay there again on my next trip out there.

This is a great hotel. The staff is wonderful and the dining options are really good. The history vibe is kind of what makes it as well. You feel you are staying some place special. This is my second trip this year to the Hume and I will always stay here when in Nelson. Can’t wait to come back! Oh, and the breakfasts that are included are the bomb! I would stay here just for the breakfasts!😻

Not where I wanted to stay. I was working in Castlegar.... But glad I got to. Food in the bar was GOOD and so was the service. Rooms are clean and completely updated. Loved the very quiet, efficient heating/cooling. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Looking forward to going back when I can enjoy it.

My husband ended our trip to Canada with a 2 night stay at the Hume Hotel in Nelson and it was the perfect way to end the trip. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and friendly. It has been beautifully updated (since it's 100 years old) and is very well kept. The food is also very good. I would highly recommend staying here.

More than satisfied with my stay. I'd recommend this hotel. From the more than, friendly staff, cleanliness, beautiful rooms and inviting atmosphere. Breakfast was everything I would have ordered at another fine restaurant. It was on the house. Eggs, sour dough toast, potato's fryed, 2 sausage and bacon with a cup of coffee. Later, I will get a hair cut at the spa, located on the second floor. I decided to extend my stay another day, it is exactly what I was looking for. I will be back.

So lovely for a historic hotel. The rooms are clean, and have been slightly updated. The beds are comfortable. Right in the middle of all the action, so if the restaurants attached to the hotel aren’t your thing, you can wander downtown is seconds and grab a bite to eat or shop. The water is only a 5-10 minute walk away. Awesome place to stay for your Nelson vacation.

One of my favourite places to stay in Nelson. I manage to stay here about once a year. It's expensive so it's an indulgence - but I never regret it. It's a lovely, old hotel right in the centre of Nelson. Just about everything is an easy walk. The hotel itself is an old building that has been updated but still retains its character. There are imperfections but they just add to the charm. I've enjoyed the Library Bar, restaurant and outdoor patio. I haven't tried the Spa or the nightclub. They even have dedicated, motorcycle parking!

We loved, loved, loved this hotel, and can't wait to return! The staff were so friendly and so willing to chat about the interesting history of the hotel and surrounding area of Nelson. It was almost like staying in a museum, the walls were covered in photos of the early hotel history. They were dog friendly and were always eager to fuss over our poodles. They were knowledgeable about local history and places to visit to and eat. There was a outside patio bar attached to the hotel, which was dog friendly. The food was great and the staff fabulous! We had dinner there both nights. We stayed in the Juliet suite, which was a very large room with a great view, large tub and shower, with a beautiful sitting area and king size bed. We will deffinetly be back to this hotel!

Friendly and welcoming staff. Well stocked liquor boutique. Delicious food served in each of their 3 restaurants that also allow any atmosphere for any occasion. Historic charm that's been well maintained. With the best nachos in town (in my opinion) what more could you ask for!
