Beautiful place, well maintained. But €5 entrance fee after already having paid for entrance to the national park (€ 30,-)... come on! For that matter the parking area should be expanded, it can barely hold 10 (to 15, if all free space is used) cars. Not accessible for wheelchairs.

Interesting place with fantastic views. But yes, when You already paid 30 euros for going by car then we didn't understood why also need to be paid 5 eur per person

Built by winds and sea currents, the Curonian Spit and its dunes is a ribbon of sand separating the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. These sandy hills reach 60 m in height, which equals to a 20-story building. The Dead Dunes derive its name from the relentless movement of sand that buried several villages in the past. Today's dunes have been stabilized w sprawling rooted vegetation. There is a walking path that begins easy, then changes into a 300-meter-long boardwalk before reaching the sand dunes. At this point remove your shoes and sink your toes in the deep sand, which can be quite hard and tiring to walk across. Reaching the top, you are rewarded with glorious views of the Curonian Spit and its surroundings. The Baltic Sea can be seen in the distance in the opposite direction. The trail is about 1.1 km one way. Strollers & access for the disabled is limited once the boardwalk ends. Small parking lot for about 15 cars and a fee to hike onto the dunes.

Beautiful trail. Be aware that you have to pay for it separately even though you paid entrance fee to the National park already.

(Students: 2€ entry fee, Regular: 5€) It’s a very nice spot here. Popular sand dunes however not too many people (during off-season) Took me the whole day to get the sand out of my shoes.

Nice place to take a walk on another planet. Sand dunes are very nice and account for 20 minute walk to get to the end of the trail.

Very atmospheric an must-see place on the Curonian spit. It is a small hike to the top of the dunes on the very clean sand.

Worth to climb up the sand hill to see breathtaking view to the Baltic sea on one side ant the Curonian lagoon on the other. Magical colors of the nature in autumn.

Great 40min walk via dunes. Path is straight and part gravel part wood pavement part sand. Great views at the top

Impressive dunes that are very high almost 55 meters. Need to walk 2 km to and back. Inside the dunes there is a very strong wind with sand blowing.

Fantastic way to experience unique nature. It costs 2 euros and you need to stay on trail. First half of the trail is made of woodrn paving, the remaining part is pure soft sand. You can leave the shoes behind and enjoy the nature. The trip takes 1-1.5 hours walking at very slow pace and taking a lot of pictures.

Great location, looks realy fantastic, just one issue - parking. It is very small and always full. Recomendation - come in the evening.

During winter months, until May month entrance is free. During summer you pay 5€ per person and the wooden path doesn't go all the way to the end. The view is amazing, but I don't think it should be taxed. Was here in 2016 and the was no stupid payment to walk on sand.

Nice view, filthy public toilet nearby and 5 Euro fee for not sure what exactly. Recommended? If you're there already then yes. Otherwise probably not.

Objects in the mirror are different than they appear. Stepping out of your SUV car, be careful with the wind on the way to the panorama. Fantastic spot to practice parallax view - as Kant puts it “to see things neither from his own viewpoint, nor from the viewpoint of others, but to face the reality that is exposed through difference ”. Applied to the locality, this mean to see in depth, with multiple perspectives. If anything, be aware of the nuclear family of bores out there. Remember, you are the cruellest omnivorous predator on earth. Dead dunes stop moving, our inquiries keep them alive. So, who killed the dunes? - climate change - people - german foresting methods - cormorants
