Interesting site and sundial with lots of information and curious designs. Believe it or not, it does not account for daylight savings time. There is a good overlook to the peninsula on the Russian side of the border.

Beautiful obelisk on top of the hill and culminating point of the trip. More info about it : The Parnidis Dune, rising to a height of 53 meters, is adorned with a sundial - calendar. It consists of a circular court, with small steps rising in a semicircle, marking the hours. In the center of the site stands an obelisk 13.8 m in height of polished stone, from which a shadow falls and becomes a clockwise arrow. The obelisk is carved with calendar runes and holiday icons taken from the 17th century. wooden calendar. On the sides of the square are four sculptural figures for the spring and autumn equinoxes and the summer and winter solstice. Parnidis Dune is the only place in Lithuania where you can watch the sun rising from the water and descending into the water. The sundial - a calendar built in 1995, was created by authors: architect Richard Krištopavičius, sculptor Klaudijus Pūdymas, ethnocosmologist Libertas Klimka. 1999 Hurricane Anatoly, which broke through Lithuania, destroyed part of the sundial, however, in November 2011, a broken clock cell was reconstructed.

Unique nature and surroundings, creative sundial, nice walk from town center with a bit of climbing, but relaxing and refreshing.

Couldn’t really work out the sundial worked but it looks impressive and is a nice thing to view whilst here at the Curonian Split.

Nice views of all surrounding areas. Sundial itself is big and looks very fancy, does the job I think. Would definitely recommend to go up there and enjoy the views. Have a look at sand dunes and Russian border.

That was the last place we visited on our "Tour de Curonian Spit" and it was like a cherry on top. The only disadvantage of this place is lack of parking places, but there are big road works around so let's hope it will change soon. We parked near marked on the map "Parking lot" and then walked through E. A. Jonušo street to the dune, mostly through the forest and then joining the "self guided path" with few tens of stairs to climb. I would say it was 1km total. After reaching the top we admired the sun clock and the view from an observation desk on a whole valley, sea and bay. It could have been the end of the tour but we found out that we can go down on dunes and walk around the valley. It was awesome - wild, empty space, walked by few people only, we literally passed one person in the begging and a group of 5 young people on our way back. The best place to discover dunes on Curonian Spit!

A must visit place without any comments. Probably the most beautiful place in Lithuania. You can access it from the lagoon side by stairs or by a car from the other side.

Beatiful view point. You can enjoy watching dunes. I visited this place in May and there was not so many turists but a little bit windy and cold

The sundial - a calendar built in 1995. It's a nice and interesting place to walk and relax, especially when a man plays with a violin.
