Absolutely amazing place. The location is perfect, the staff were super nice. The whole place was completely clean and felt like a home where you could easily meet new people in the dining/chill area as well as having access to the open plan kitchen area. The showers and toilets were spotless and the beds were very comfortable. Easily the best hostel all 10 of us have been to. Will be back in Rotterdam and to this hostel again.

Nice place and location and the sliding doors were nice for a bit of extra privacy. The stairs are super steep but I believe there is a lift. Chargers in the lockers are also a nice touch.

If you're looking for a place to stay, this is the best option, is well connected (just beside the train station that goes to the city center) and is located in a quite neighborhood. Price is really cheap compared with whole of hostels. And staff is really nice ☺️

Probably the worst night of my life. I stayed in a lot of hostels in my life but this one just tops them all, but in a negative way. Service was unmotivated and slow. Seemed like the guy was stoned or sth. Anyways, I didnt expect much of a 12 bed shared room but the room was way more awful than I imagined. Woke up a million times because of stuffy air and mosquitoes. It was disgusting to fall asleep in walls and ceilings covered in dead mosquitoes and blood. I literally killed 10+ mosquitoes before falling asleep. And i dont wonder where they come from, because the adjacent bathroom is flooded with the water from the showers (perfect for breeding mosquitoes, really bad for everything else). I do see how this could be a nice hostel and why people rate it higher. But my experience was not more than 2 stars and I will never go there again. Its not a cheap hostel by any means and just the location doesnt justify the price. If you want to gamble, go for it.

Awesome place to stay. Super located, super friendly stuff, clean, modern, charming, wonderful restroom/bathroom, great kitchen & hangout-area! Loved it a lot!!!!

Great place to stay! The beds are great and there was a shower and toilet in the room I was in. You also get a towel and free coffee in the morning which is great. It is definitely a place I will consider visiting again.

This hostel is totally beyond expectation! This new hostel is in an about 100 year-old building, according to the the staff, with very thoughtful arrangements, sapcey rooms, clean and well maintained, trendy and cozy, a mixture of a cafe and boutique hotel alike but set as a hostel. Definitely recommended.

Everything is right there and on the edge of the asian district. I have no legs so there was an elevator but I did negotiate the steep narrow steps fine. Rooms clean, guests and staff friendly. I never worried or wondered. I would reschedule in a heartbeat.

It was my first time in a hostel so I was feeling a bit nervous about that but Sparks Hostel exceeded my expectations! Staff are incredibly warm and friendly. Felt welcomed right away. I don't know her name (tall, blond, light colored eyes) but the receptionist that checked me in was lovely and informative. The room was clean and loved the set up of the beds! I got the top bunk which I really liked. Felt very private with the sliding wall. There are sockets, a lamp and a little shelf by your bed. The bed itself is super comfy. The locker is huge! You have to bring your own lock or can purchase at the desk. Each room has their own bathroom. It was neat and the shower was spacious! I stayed in a 6 all-female dorm and it was lovely meeting my roommates. They were all so sweet! The common area was cozy and had a good playlist lol I really enjoyed chilling there. Everyone was so nice from the staff to the guests! I felt very safe. In the morning, there is free coffee. Kitchen is well equipped and clean. Location is great! 5 min (or less) walk to the centraal station and just a few steps away from the trams. There are many restaurants nearby and an Albert Heijn right across. I only stayed for one night but I would definitely love to come back here for longer! It was a lovely experience. Overall, Sparks Hostel has good quality at such an affordable price. An excellent hostel, extremely close to the central train station. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and hygienic. The staff was polite.

I stayed here for two nights in the 12 bed mixed dorm. The beds were comfy and they had screens that blocked out light and gave your privacy. You also got allocated a locker by your bed which was very spacious, you can easily fit large luggage in there. You also had access to electric ports by your bed and in your locker. They have a kitchen for everyone to use that is well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. They even have free coffee in the morning! If you’re not keen on cooking, they do offer breakfast for cheap! For lunch and dinner, there are many options nearby. And if you are cooking, there is a store across the road, and a few more down the road. It is very close to the Rotterdam Centraal station, so it is convenient. They let you leave your luggage if you arrive before check in or leave after check out. The staff were AMAZING! They were super friendly. When I arrived they had a tour to go to the events on for architecture month, and they mentioned another tour that was sadly after I left, so it seems this is common for them. They also give suggestions on what to see, depending on your interests. And they give great advice if you have any questions, such as how to get around the city. They definitely helped in me enjoying the city.

The best motel I have been in. The rooms were great, the beds have as much privacy as possible and are really comfy. Also it is literally in the middle of Rotterdam!

One of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed in. Stayed in a modern and clean private room. Full service kitchen that was always clean and ready. Has everything you need to prepare a meal from the nearby grocery store instead of having to eat out. Employees were always pleasant - especially the morning staff! Thanks for everything.

Stayed in six bed dorm. Unique steps to upper bunk is a great idea but bit creaky and reduces the amount of light in the lower bunk. Good locker space (Bring oen lock). Shower door was leaky in our room. Good space in the room to pack and unpack.Great common kitchen (grocery store across the street and Asian grocery around corner) and lots of common area. Looks like a former restaurant. Decent free coffee/tea 8-11am. Great location from the central station. Very helpful staff. Highly recommend

Really great location and the rooms were some of the best hostel rooms I’ve stayed at. Lots of privacy in the beds and the storage locker is very spacious meaning you can store lots in it. It was very clean and the staff were very helpful. I did have one weird experience where I was eating breakfast and this guy came up and sat next to me and started being quite creepy, staring at me very closely and intently and looking at what I was doing on my phone. Weirdest part was I think he was a staff member? I hope he was not staff because he was very creepy and made me feel uncomfortable. He looked about mid 20s, and if he is a staff member I suggest reconsider how he approaches people. Otherwise this hostel was great.

Way better than I had even anticipated. Fantastically located, good rooms, decent common rooms incl. kitchen. Only thing I had to comment was that the room of my door would slam whenever someone opened the hallway door (which happens a LOT), waking me up quite some times. Very friendly lady also at the check-in desk.

The staff was so polite and kind, the service was nice, the room and the bed were very clean and nice, the bathroom and shower area where also nice and clean, and the commuting areas were cozy. On top of that the location is great for people who travel there first time cause it's just few minutes from the central train station, a lot of cafe's and restaurants around it too.

I have spent a very good time in Sparks, people are nice and warm, you have everything you need for a temporary home, I wish I will come back one day.

I lived in this mostel fore some days. The reception is great and the stuff is very gentil. They kept my baggage for the entire morning because I arrived before registration time. The hostel is equipped with a kitchen where you can have your breakfast for some euros and for the baggage you can use the lifter to get to your floor. The only one probleme it's quite little but for people seeking just sleeping it can be perfect.

Staff go the extra mile - left a wireless earbud here and they posted it back to me! Rooms and spotless and comfortable. Amazing location, so close to train and bus station, and kitchen is fully stocked and so clean. Stairs are steep but there is a lift. Really can't fault it! So so worth the price.

A top tier hostel, very close to the central train station. Everything is clean, the showers have great pressure. Lockers work great. Staff are great and assisted with a special request we had. Free coffee in the mornings. Nothing negative about this place honestly.

Stayed for 4 days, very nice service and also my favorite hostel in Rotterdam centrum, very close to the station and easily accessible from Kruisplein tramhalte. Surrounded by multinational restaurants.

I lived in a room with an independent washroom and it was quite clean and location is near to train station. I ate Vitnamese food nearby and i liked the noodle. The breakfast was basic.

Great staff! Kitchen is open for guests cook, there is a snack bar inside. Excellent environment, calm, cozy. There are lamps on beds, really private. I already slept in other two hostels in Rotterdam. This one is the top one. Few meters from Centraaaaal Station. Last time i went there, there esse a mouse running over the lounge. I talked with the responsible guy, he said he knows and that is it.

Horrible customer service! The front desk representative was very rude during check-in. At the end of our conversation when I enquired about what can be offered for not getting the room I requested, I was told to leave as "he dint like me and can do what he wants". Poor customer service in netherlands is common but this was jarringly disturbing. Hoping to get reimbursed soon as I paid via my debit card during check in.

Great location, pleasent & helpful staff. Poor security i.e. luggage storage is in common area, total unsecured. Lockers in rooms can easily be opened with a phillips head screwdriver (like on any multitool) Refer picture.

Got a private room here which was very spacious, clean and had a nice interior. Great for working with the desk provided. Decent social atmosphere though it would be better if the hostel would organize more social events inside. When I stayed for a week, there was only a bike ride event. The stairs are also very steep so I had to be careful taking the stairs. Breakfast is more or less the same everyday, yoghurt, croissant, stroopwaffle so some days I skipped it.

Had a really nice room. Beer at the desk 24/7, open kitchen for guests, everything seemed pretty clean to me. Great location.

Everything was smooth until i have said there is no credit card. I was immediately asked to leave, never seen so condescending attitude. I couldnt pay with money, i could not pay with the debit card, i could not even reserve a room with help of my family and the owner cancelled my mothers reservation at my own eyes. If you like sorting of people for the better and the worst, it is definitely place for you to leave your money!

Very well located 5 mins walking from central train station. Great ambiance and fun kitchen. Great music and comfortable common space. Enjoyed my time there.
