We stayed here for the weekend for Mothersday. The receptioniste was friendly. The cleaners we encountered were friendly as well, after mentioning that the bathroom wasn't cleaned yet. The lady immediatly took care of it. The location was ideal as well, if u rent a bike for cycling to Volendam. The room was spacious and their garden was lovely. Breakfast buffet wasn't much variety in my personal opinion. Dinner was good enough. The only negative thing i have to mention is their pillows; they were too hard for my liking. And also, this weekend there were many parties going on and alot of French visitors. They made SO much noise in the hallways.. we barely could get any rest. Except for that part, our stay in this hotel was lovely.

Excellent hotel with a very attentive service. Breakfast - 5 stars. Breakfast and dining area has just been renovated, the new space is stylish and spacious with a beautiful terrace. The place is under renovation, yet it is quiet and relaxing. The rooms are very big, nice bath and shower, air conditioning and Nespresso machine! Highly recommend for the value for money!

The best hotel ever !! Staffs here are so nice and willing to help people ! Made me feel like home ! Breakfast buffet and the meal at restaurant are so great !!! I would 100% visit here again when next time I go to Amsterdam !

This is the best hotel! I strongly recommend you to stay there. The place is quiet and very beautiful. The hotel has an absolutely high standard of service. Rooms are perfect. The reception was very pleasant and qualified and always ready to help. I really liked the restaurant, food and drinks. It is the best choice for those who want to explore Old Holland. You can hire a bicycle in the hotel and go to Volendam, Edam or even Marken. And you can also go to Amsterdam at any time, just catch the bus and you will arrive in the city for about 30 minutes.

Repeatedly found the back door to the room accessible to a communal terrace left open by someone. Very concerning. We also only had luke-warm water and hot water was unavailable.

Very unfriendly attitude by the receptionist when you call them over the phone. We requested slippers - they do not have slippers in the hotel. We requested 2 wine glasses for in the room, but we were told to go downstairs and pick it up ourselves as they do not offer such service. We wanted to connect the laptop to the TV with HDMI cable, but the TV is locked on the backside with a lock. We were told that we cannot connect it with the HDMI, no explanation why. They told us that the TV is locked because some of the guests may steal the TV. My opinion for this hotel chain was pretty good before I faced the reality. I would never again take holiday in that hotel chain.

Nice restaurant near the lovely place Volendam. We had to stop here because of the bad weather. Not disappointed. We enjoyed a delicious meal. Grilled char and cuisson were perfect for the steak and the pork loin. One of the grilled pieces of chicken was a bit small, therefore the meat became very dry.

The hotel is excellent with all the amenities. The rooms were clean, food really good and the staff really friendly. The location of the hotel is around 4kms from Volendam Centrum. You can rent bikes and cycle all the way to Volendam Centrum. The ride and the countryside is just beautiful :)

Unfortunately I've not been able to enjoy the stay in this hotel because I got sick just before the trip. Nevertheless I give 5 stars for the very kind and helpful cancellation policy. I hope I'll definitely be able to enjoy a stay there.

9am we hear a loud drilling sound after a late night. Called the reception and were told theres nothing that can be done. Ridiculous and rude staff! They only have single beds which they have joined togethet to make them double. Family of four sleeping on 4 single beds. Beds kept slipping to the side during the night.

It was a very enjoyable place. The Breakfast is very good and the staff is very nice. The room was very Beautiful and the Nature was beautiful.

They promised a room deluxe on the main floor and we got one on the 2nd floor, no luxury at all and we got scammed because 250 euro is just a rip off. Bad service too, not trying to think with us and solve the problem. Made many complaints at the office alter our stay and again bad service there. Was our last time in Van der Valk. Next time ill choose for cheaper, most off the time better service there.

We have stayed 3 days 2 nights, we had 2 times breakfast and dinner there. The hotel room itself so nice, feels like home, got cleaned everyday, the staff are super nice and friendly, Food are amazing with a reasonable price, the hotel is in the middle of green area, they even has their own bus stop! Reachable with public transportation, 2 bus stop from Volendam centrum and 20 minutes away from Amsterdam central. Yes!! You can read all reviews, they are that good! Recommend!

I went to the restaurant here. I had the schnitzel, and to be honest I was slightly dissapointed. But everything I got with it like the decorative tomatoes and other vegetables were really good, as well as the fries. As dessert I had some vanilla ice cream thing, and it was really good. 8.5/10 Great service, but the meat was a bit dissapointing.

We arrived today, after we checked in and got to our room, the door was blocked and would not open. Only when one of the cleaners helped us after we returned to reception and still could not get the door open, the door finally would open. In the room we later found that the trash bin hidden under the desk was still full and that the floor still was dirty with various crumbs on it. On the way to the restaurant we asked the reception to have the trash bin emptied and floor vacuumed; after returning to our room we found the trash bin had been emptied but near the bed the floor was still dirty. At the restaurant we ordered meals for whole family of 4 people. At the end of the meal we found out that some of the chicken nuggets in one of the kids meals were still a bit raw, which was after we needed to ask someone to take back the pork steak in my husband's mixed grill as that was still raw inside as well which we would not expect for pork meat. That's really horrible..

Big hotel complex with renovated main areas but old rooms in a beautiful park. Cleanliness is unfortunately not their strong suit; moldy bathroom and very dusty room. There were undefined splatters everywhere, see pictures... There is no working ventilation in the bathroom and mold everywhere. Rooms have ac which is not very powerful but sufficient for the climate. The restaurant quality is good but service is mostly slow. Breakfast buffet is good.

Breakfast, high tea and dinner at The restaurant were excellent! Full of families, and senior citizens. Friendly for children because it has a playground for toddlers. But I did not like the old interior of the hotel room, and the cleaning could be better, i found dirt, hair in bath tub and dust on heater when I arrived. We strangely could not sleep well in room 401 on a double bed, perhaps due to the duvet pillow and mattress are not comfortable, for example, two mattresses were put together so if I turn to the middle, one bed will move and let me slip into a crack...

Great hotel for the price. Properly is slightly dated but absolutely clean and part of a large complex. Rooms are spacious and bed is very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and relaxed. Windows and walls are a bit thin so noise is easily heard. Volendam is close by and well worth going to.

Just a great hotel with very nice and polite staff.

A great hotel far from the very hard noise of the city but also not very far from the main center of Volendam. A strategic point to choose for a couple of nights if you want to visit the cities around because in every direction you're almost 20min far. Good service and friendly people especially the restaurant. Young boys and girls that work with responsibility and a smile on their face. A deluxe room is really good and clean, everything at its place. For the clients the Spa and Gym is free entrance but you have to call to make reservations.

Great food at the restaurant, and great service. Great and friendly staff as well.
