Thijsse,s Hof in Bloemendaal is another surprising place (for me). Read G.Busser's review, which prompted me to visit this place. Dr. Jac. P. Thijsse was a schoolmaster, then he became a biology teacher in Bloemendaal. He was one of the first conservationists in our country. He and his friends founded well-known nature associations such as: Natuurmonumenten, etc. School classes still come here for guided tours. In 1925, Thijsse received Thijsse's Hof on the occasion of his 60th birthday. The park is in the English landscape style by Leonard Springer. Apart from the history, just take a look around and enjoy this beautiful place.

(Translated by Google) This park is characterized by the fact that it houses different vegetation zones and thus a wide variety of plant species. It's not big, but varied. In a hinged display beehive behind glass, you can watch a colony making honey, watch beetles, spiders and dragonflies in the dune landscape and, weather permitting, enjoy the whole thing barefoot. There is a super clean and tidy toilet which has a fun "poo exhibit" of the animals that live in the area. In the house there is a kind of museum with over 100 stuffed exhibits of mostly birds and native mammals. There, among other things, school classes and interested people like us are explained and brought closer to the different animal species in their various habitats. You can only love what you know! We love this exhibition and the intention behind it. Our planet is diverse and only those who walk through nature with open eyes and hearts will learn to appreciate and protect it. Dort werden u.a.

Small historic park with wild plants from the area. Free entrance and guided tours during the weekend. Various dune landscapes have been created on 2 hectares. Signs indicate the different plants, shrubs and trees. Highly recommended for plant lovers.

A nice place to relax or take a walk. Take a seat on one of the many benches and enjoy the birds and greenery. The botanical garden is full of special and everyday plants, all of which have a nameplate, very educational for young and old. It is clear that the garden is also very attractive to insects. With an insect hotel, beehive, sand bee hill and forests of branches, it is even more attractive for the little creatures. For young and old people there is now a barefoot path where you are invited to walk with your bare feet over various ground covers.

Very beautiful and quiet nature reserve. It's extra fun to get a tour from one of the volunteers to learn about the flora and fauna that lives there.

Beautiful piece of nature for everyone who loves plants and birds! Support is possible from € 2.50 per year! You can even buy wild plants there for a euro.

I did an internship here during my high school years. It is a beautiful botanical garden that provides a rich insight into what grows and lives in our environment. Nice and educational to walk through.
