Ein schön gestaltes Museum über mehrere Etagen wird einem hier geboten. Es gab bei unserem Besuch eine Sonderausstellung, die sehr anschaulich und lehrreich war. Die Ausstellung an präparierten Tieren ist sehr umfangreich, wenn auch etwas gruselig. Die Eintrittspreise sind mit 3,50€ pro Erwachsenem sehr günstig. Unser Aufenthalt betrug hier ca. 1h.

Das Naturkundemuseum in Bamberg ist ein ganz besonderes Museum. Besonders der Vogelsaal in seiner Originalausstattung aus dem ausgehenden 18. Jahrhundert, also aus Goethes Zeit, ist einmalig. Aber auch die mineralogische und die Fossiliensammlung lohnen den Besuch.

Friendly service and good atmosphere. Easy to go through even during COVID-19. Instructions are clear and receptionists are warm and welcoming. The museum is parked with historic fossils, stuffed animals and vibrant aquatic animals in acquarium for display. The multimedia room is enjoyable with short movie on natural history. Sure can visit again and recommend it. 3.50 Euro usual fee but low for students. Ask at the entrance.

Sehr beeindruckend , sowohl die wunderschönen Räumlichkeiten als auch die Ausstellung selbst !! Auch die Mitmachstationen und die Sonderausstellungen sind informativ und interessant....

Tolles Museum. Der historische Vogelsaal ist sicher ein Highlight. Doch auch die hervorragend erhaltenen und ansprechend präsentierten Versteinerungen sind toll. Das Museum ist auf alle Fälle einen Besuch wert. Montags wie üblich geschlossen. Humane Eintrittspreise.

Tolles Museum mit umfangreicher Sammlung an präparierten Vögeln.

Sehr sehenswert, besonders die derzeitige Sonderausstellung zu den versteinerten Tieren aus dem Steinbruch. Der Saal mit den präparierten Tieren ist sowohl wegen der Exponate als auch wegen der Architektur top ! Es gibt auch eine App hierzu, die beim Besuch vor Ort oder auch danach zuhause interessante Infos hat. Personal ist übrigens sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit!

Beautiful building in the middle of Bamberg. The place and exhibition are well maintained and with easy to find information. Love specially the interactive exposition for the kids. The fósil part is really nicely done, could spend hours around here. The flora and fauna collection is actually very entertaining and the kids learn a lot from it every time we go there and they want to get there a lot....

A jewel !!! Beautiful from all points of view,very instructive and interesting! Classes of students go there in summer time(not only)and study the species of birds and animals. A museum in a museum. A precious museum,a must visit ! We loved it very much! A unique museum!!!

Entry is 3,50€, we had the whole museum for ourselves at 10h on a saturday. It's bigger than I anticipated. The taxidermied animal room was our favorite, there was a ton of animals to see, and it looks very elegant with the many rococo details, including the cherub display cabinets and the balcony floor. Definetely a museum worth stopping by even if everything was written in german !

A great museum.

Immer wieder ein tolles Erlebnis das Naturkundemuseum in Bamberg zu besuchen. Selbst wenn die Weltkugel aus meiner Kindheit nicht mehr da ist (was meinen Sohn immer noch sehr wütend macht 😂) ist die Dauerausstellung mindestens einen Besuch wert. Der Vogelsaal ist immer wieder ein Besuch in eine andere Epoche und absolut faszinierend. Die Ausstellung zu den Wattendorfer Fossilen ist auch sehr sehenswert und man entdeckt immer etwas neues. Die Sonderausstellung sind immer wieder toll und jedes Mal beeindruckend. Dazu sind die Preise sehr gut gewählt und das Personal sehr freundlich. Und Poldi kann man auch wieder einmal sehen

Das Erdgeschoss (Thema Erd- und Gesteinsschichten) fand ich eher langweilig. Im ersten Stock aber der Vogelsaal und die darüber gelegenen Vitrinen weiterer Tierexponate hatten eine beeindruckende Vielfalt. Dazu gab es noch 2 Sonderausstellungen mit einigen Fossilien (v.a. kleine Fische u Korallen) und eine zu Wetterphänomenen. Gerade auch bei dem günstigen Eintritt (3,50€, für Studenten etc 2€) war es den Besuch sicher wert.

The museum was very inaccessible to people speaking languages other than German. Just a couple things had translations in English. I found the taxidermy kind-of creepy, and I think it would have helped give the exhibitions context if there was more explaining it (especially in the historic hall from the 1700's). The historic piece was cool to see, but being an English speaker there was not much to learn without Google Translate's help.

Very beautiful and organized museum. The only flaw: everything is written just in german, no information in english at all, not very good for tourists.

Ich war mit meinen Kindern Früh um 9.10 Uhr da und wir hatten das Museum praktisch für uns. Die Dame an der Kasse war äußerst freundlich und hat sich rührend um uns gekümmert. Ich finde das Museum außergewöhnlich, da es Naturkunde auf moderner Weise in einem historischen Gebäude vermittelt. Damit kamen alle auf ihre Kosten.

Wirklich beeindruckende Sammlung, die ganze Familie war begeistert. Vor allen Dingen die Vögel sind der Hammer, aber die anderen Exponate waren auch klasse in Szene gesetzt. Die Dame am Empfang war super nett und hat sich viel Zeit genommen, alles zu erklären und auch mit unseren Kindern zu sprechen. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Ein sehr schönes Museum. Wenn man sich etwas Zeit nimmt kann man sich alles in Ruhe anschauen. Eintritt für 3.50 Euro für einen Erwachsenen. Kann man nicht meckern.

Nice museum for some knowledge gaining pictures

Der Vogelsaal ist einfach wunderbar.. Aber das ist ja,seid 300 Jahren, bekannt 🤗. Die restlichen Ausstellungen sind sehr sehenswert und wenn man sich beeilt, kommt man in den Genuss,der aktuellen Sonderausstellung....sehr sehenswert!

Interesting and bigger than expected exhibitions. Great amount of fossils and gems, and the pictures of how they find and prepare the fossils for the public exhibition. Price is worth it, to find the entry you have to do a little walk, a downside is that is not made for tourists visit, as all the descriptions are in German, but you can walk and see the images.
