Great traditional German restaurant, offering good solid food and local wines served by staff in regional costumes. Lovely old building near the town centre, giving a sense of being immersed in local culture. Some of the best food we had on our 2 week holiday. The Bauern Schnitzel - breaded pork steak with fried onions and bacon, with a side of fried potatoes and topped with an egg, was extremely tasty. The bill came to €53 for 2 starters, 2 mains, a bottle of local wine (exceptional wine at an exceptional price €13) and a large glass of federweisser (part fermented new wine).

Good food, fast serive and accept credit cards

I found this place by searching "Best restaurants in Neustadt." Unfortunately, I can't tell you about the food, because when I walked in and asked for a table for one, I was told, 'No," with no explanation or apologies. Do not recommend for the solo traveller or really, anybody.

Delicious meal, I had the Ochsenfetzen. The meat was just seared, perfect texture and great flavors in the creamy mustard sauce . Nice casual place.

Absolute Empfehlung. Tolles Essen, herzliche Atmosphäre! Warmly recommended; regional cuisine on a top level regarding price-quality ratio. Lovely people and a welcoming atmosphere.

Great local cuisine and they take most credit cards (I tried Amex, Visa and Mastercard) which you can't say for most other places in Germany.

We found the Gerberhaus to be a wonderful place with a good selection of local wines and local cuisine along with friendly people. It is a nice non touristy place for a meal.

Delicious local food at an authentic atmosphere...definitely recommend the deer medallions. Super tasty.
