An diesem Ort haben wir es uns richtig gut gehen lassen. Auf Empfehlung sind wir dann bei Garofoli eingekehrt. Den Tisch haben wir am Vortag reserviert, was sehr empfehlenswert ist. Die Bedienung (vermutlich der Chef) war äußerst zuvorkommend und ausgesprochen höflich. Die Weinempfehlung zu den Speisen war passend, obgleich ich mir kostenfrei Leitungswasser dazu gewünscht hätte. Egal, haben wir halt Mineralwasser bestellt. Anhand der Bilder können Sie sehen, wie liebevoll und anschaulich die Speisen angerichtet werden. Zwar hat es zwischen der Vorspeise und dem Hauptgang außergewöhnlich lange gedauert, aber dies wurde prompt mit einem kostenfreien Dessert „entschädigt“. Ich möchte erwähnen, dass wir auf jeden Fall ein Dessert bestellt hätten, denn wir waren schon sehr euphorisch bei dem was die Nachbartische so bekommen haben ;-) Das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis ist angemessen. Die Portionen sind mengenmäßig gut und größenmäßig absolut top. Alles in einem kann man hier vorbehaltlos eine Empfehlung aussprechen.

I had a very unfortunate experience here while with friends. We were quite a large group of around 12 and had asked if that was alright with the staff before we were seated and they agreed it was fine. Although the group was big, we were actually quite quiet as we were all pretty tired and simply wanted a nice meal together. It felt like we were tucked away and avoided as we weren’t given anything until we asked for some bread rolls due to not receiving food well over an hour after ordering. Several members of staff were also very rude to a few members of our group and, despite the food being just fine, the experience overall left a very bad taste in our mouths.

Nice seafood, service was friendly. Location adds one additional point.

Wir waren heute Abend zum Dinner in diesen Restaurant. Das Ambiente ist sauber und schön gestaltet, der Service freundlich. Das Essen wirkte frisch und hat gut geschmeckt, wir hatten den Grillteller mit Edelfischen und Spaghetti Vongole. Alles in allem ein tolles Restaurant. Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis stimmt.

I don’t usually eat seafood in Germany and while I love Weimar and have many spots where I am happy enough, I used to live in NYC so I’m hard to impress. However, Garofoli was absolutely delicious. Fresh seafood, perfect calamari, my partner had the seafood soup and it was also spot on (and let me be clear, my background is also from islands and I went to college in an ocean town so I know fresh fish) and short of flying directly to the ocean, this is as fresh as humanly possible. My partner is also a longtime Weimar native and we have rarely been so charmed by a restaurant here. Good food, great Location, charming decor, great service and a lovely atmosphere.

Immer wenn ich in Weimar bin versuche ich diesem schicken Restaurant einen Besuch abzustatten. Das Personal, teilweise aus dem Ruhrgebiet stammend, ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hier wird Service noch groß geschrieben. Und selbst bei großem Trubel bleibt immer noch Zeit für einen kurzen Plausch oder eine Nachtisch-Empfehlung.
