I found this lovely place walking in the old town of Weimar. The timber building was beautiful and several floors were available. It must be a fun place in the evening when it is full of people. I had lunch sitting outside. Service was prompt and the food was fresh and delicious. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The beer was good, so I had two.

The food was great, I can't say anything about the room because I couldn't book a room. When I asked about booking a room, the answer was that it can only be done online. As a result, I found another hotel where I can also book personally. The service was friendly.

Only the restaurant is rated. - Location: centrally located in the old town in a beautiful half-timbered house. Parking not possible. - Food: there was beef roulade. Everything seemed homemade and very fresh. Also very hot. The dumpling was excellent. Nice and firm to the bite. Plus enough sauce. Absolutely reasonable in price at just over 20 euros. The waiter strongly recommended the cake that the owner's mother baked. This one was indeed great. - Drinks: Freshly tapped beer is the main drink here. This looks very good. There is also a great coffee machine. The prices are worth highlighting. Where else can you get a large bottle of water for €4.90? - Service: very on point. Plus super friendly and authentic. We are happy to provide advice. - Ambiance: authentic and very cozy. Card payment no problem. Card payment possible

We made a reservation for 5 people at short notice on a Saturday evening and sat in the winter garden. Almost all tables were occupied. The service was ok but not particularly friendly. The waiting time was quite acceptable for the many guests. However, the food was rather a disappointment. According to the waitress, even the fried potatoes come out of the bag. Ready-made frozen schnitzel for just under 20 euros and the children's portion of pasta was completely overcooked and absolutely not suitable for children. All in all, rather poor value for money. Unfortunately it was our first and last time eating here.

We've been there and had lunch. We got the Schwarzbierbraten (like a soft cooked pork with a dark beer sauce) and the Sauerfleisch (soft sour pork). It was delicious and the portions pretty big. As beverages we drunk beer, obviously like Germans do. Close to this restaurant there are 2 other steak restaurants we can also recommend. I highly recommend the restaurants in this corner for everyone who like to eat meat and probably drink beer.

The food was super tasty, but it was placed a bit carelessly on the plate. A nice garnish nil. The service was a bit slow, 45 minutes without drinking even though someone walked past the empty drinks several times. Otherwise nice staff, very nice atmosphere with beer garden and terrace as well as winter garden. Toilets on the 1st floor, difficult to access for people with walking difficulties.

The tavern is nice and rustic and we were warmly welcomed. The rest was no longer good. The table had been wiped with a smelly cloth, and even wiping it again at our request didn't get rid of the smell. We had to wait a long time for our food and it was only lukewarm. The price was very high for that. Conclusion: expensive and not worth the price, there is much better in Weimar.

Very nice historic inn in the heart of Weimar. I can only report positive things about my visit. The food was very tasty, the beer was good and the service was extremely friendly, attentive and with the right amount of humor.

Wonderful located in an ancient half-timbered house in the center of Weimar, this restaurant offers a tasty cuisine with the best regional products. The Rinderrouladen (beef rolls) and the dumplings are amazing. The service is friendly and professional.

Very nice restaurant, the food is also very good. But in my opinion there is no value for money. You also have to add that the service isn't that good and they aren't very nice either...

Lovely place, good food. Luckily there were some other guests gesturing to us that they are leaving otherwise the waitress wouldn't have organized us a table. That was a bit of a bizarre start.

Horrible restaurant service. I went for the first time, the restaurant was empty. We sat outside and waited for 15 minutes and no one came to serve us or bring a menu. We just got up and left. Tried again today as a group of 5 and was even worse. The waitress gave us 1 menu and didn't even clean our table (there were dirty glasses there from previous customers). We had to go inside to get more menus by ourselves when more friends arrived since the waitress never came back to our table. Then after sitting and waiting for 15 minutes with no sign of waiters coming outside to get our orders we just decided to leave again. If you value your time just avoid this place.

This is an excellent bar and restaurant with a good range of Thuringia regional dishes. The beef roulade is excellent and if dumplings are not your thing then you can substitute other forms of potatoes. The staff are friendly and efficient. Their beer is also excellent. The venue is a stunning and well restored building. WiFi is available inside. Recommended.

Typical German menu, the Sauerkrautsoup is a noteworthy choice. Good food, German proportions, fair prices and nice staff.

I had a wonderful traditional style meal here. The staff were very helpful and the service was good. The place has a very cozy feel to it. Would come back again in the future.

Walked a few blocks from our hotel. The location was great and the building was obviously old and was neat. The inside felt like a very old pub with many locals drinking beer. I had already drank the dark beer, which was much better than the bottles I can get in the U.S. I also tried the Kellerbier, which I didn’t really like it and I did not try the Hefeweizen. They served one local dry white wine, which was great, but was the only choice. They had menus in English and the wait staff could speak good English, but the specials were only in German. I had a marinated pork cutlet with crispy potatoes. This was a huge potion and was really good. I couldn’t eat all because of the large portions. My wife had pork goulash with sauerkraut and dumplings. The pork was great and the sauerkraut was better than any experienced in U.S. Worth visiting again.

Nice location, but the saltiest food i ever had in my life. Also, the waitress was quite rude, she seemed to be annoyed by every single question i made. This may be a German thing, as it had happened over and over in different cities and restaurants, but still...

Got there on time at 7 p.m. and still had a hole in my stomach for the next 2 hours. When the food finally came, there were some incorrect orders and, after increased demand, there were still people at the table without food, while others at the same table had gotten theirs 30 minutes before. If you're hungry and looking forward to good, reliable food from Thuringian cuisine, you've come to the wrong place. At least sincere enough to put the late meal on the house.
