After touring New Braunfels on foot, we were looking for a good spot to eat and walked over to this restaurant that we had noticed because of its ample outdoor seating on a beautiful patio. We had our pupper with us and they were super accommodating. It was warm when we visited and super lovely out on the patio, but they appear to have heaters built-in, and some communal shawls hanging on a rack so it would probably even be nice in the winter. The service was great and so was the food. We started off with the Fried Brie. It was amazing. I can't complain about too much cheese, but we loaded up the granny smith apples and toast points that it came with and there was still plenty of cheese left over. That is the best kind of problem to have. A quick side note: they put the butter for the complimentary dinner rolls in the basket with the bread, so the heat from the rolls softens the butter. An elegant solution to the frozen butter so common at restaurants. For our main courses, we got the Three Salad Sampler and the Mixed Grill. We loved both of them. The Three Salads was only one leaf-type salad and the other two were chicken salad-like, which surprised us a little. Every part of the Mixed Grill was tasty, with the poblano bacon-wrapped chicken being a particular stand-out, and let you sample many different entrees in one. The horseradish and Dijon/Merlot sauces came together in a single cup, which was another surprise, but it worked well. This is a worthy addition to the growing list of excellent restaurants to be found in downtown New Braunfels.

Excellent first visit today and my friend took me out to lunch while I visited New Braunfels for the day. I love how it’s tucked away off from the Main Street and how there’s various areas to sit in, with different feels. Even an outside patio and garden area. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak especially and it tasted as great as I hoped.

Delicious food in a neat area with boutique's and shops. This is a popular place that does not accept reservations so be patient. The food is worth the wait and the service is fabulous. I had a tough experience, and was stood up by my date. The hostess was a very nice girl who figured out what happened, and she tried to buy my dinner! I was shocked at the kindess offered by a stranger in a time when I was sad. I went to my car and retrieved the flowers I had bought for the date that stood me up and gave them to the hostess. She seemed thankful and very happy, which helped cheer me up a bit after my night. Thank you Huisache Grill and please let the pretty blonde hostess I gave flowers to know she made my night by just being very nice and showing some concern for me and what happened.

First experience here and not disappointed. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and seating was available. They have a kids menu which was perfect since I had my 8 year old with me. $5.95 for chicken strips was extremely fair price. Granted the other dishes were a little more pricey the quality of the dishes was worth every penny. The ambiance here is perfect for a date night. I’m looking forward to visiting again next time I’m in new Braunfels.

This was such an experience! The amazing food, the service and the atmosphere came together to make this dinner so enjoyable. I had the chopped steak covered with cheese and batter fried jalapenos. I really like the lights strung across the outdoor area, quaint seating and beautiful plants. Can't wait to check out the fried brie appetizer next time. Will definitely be back! The parking is tight in front, but across the street out back is a larger parking lot with plenty of space. That way you get to walk through the back garden area too.

Superb service and excellent food. I had the lamburger with the house salad and in-house Gorgonzola dressing. She had the Turkey sandwich with the creamy sweet potato soup, she states both were delicious. The soup was a big hit. Everything on my plate was crafted in-house and was delicious. So far the best coffee in Texas. Our server, Kelly was an absolute charm.

The place is nice, great music, food was cooked as we ordered it. Tuesdays is our day to avoid crowds. The inside and the outdoor (covered and open) areas are both quaint and somewhat rustic.

I had been wanting to try Huisache for a long time and while everything was pretty good, nothing really blew us away either. The service was fantastic and the space has a nice feel. The menu is a trip back in time though and could use a refresh in my opinion. However, judging by the 30 minute wait to be seated, they certainly seem to be meeting a need. I'll note one exception to what I said above. The banana pudding was the best I've ever had anywhere. We will go back and try other dishes.

This was a great experience. Brought my Corazon here for his birthday dinner. It was real nice. Our waiter Nick made us feel very comfortable and was so kind. A memorable one. Lovely place!

Great atmosphere and service...the food was so delicious. ADA wheelchair accessible...park near the back...dog friendly patio with shopping areas. Highly recommend the white bean soup. Also the trout.

Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Ice tea was good, side salad was good. Fresh green beans were hard and crunchy. To me that’s undercooked and my wife agreed. The French fries were delicious. My disappointment was with the chicken fried steak. It was tougher than I expected to get from a place so highly recommended. I’ve had a lot better nearby for less. Someone posted a lunch menu, but they don’t have one. Waiter said that’s not theirs, so I clicked the notify.

Fırat Time visit but it won't be the last. The dining experience was exceptional. From the moment you step in you fel so welcome. The menu has so many options that will cater to most any dietary needs. Everything is freshly made in house. This is a great location to celebrate a special occasion or just catch up with a friends and family.

It was good... very good! The atmosphere is inviting and odd. But I really enjoyed it. It's almost like being in someone's communal space at a country club. I can't place my finger exactly on how the place feels... so I will let it unfurl within me for a few. The good was the best part which is a good thing! Split some artichoke dip, a burger, and a salmon sandwich with my niece and all were awesome! Gonna go again... I gotta get the feeling really down for this.

2nd time here. The food is fantastic. The service excellent. The atmosphere is smashing. Highly recommend this place. It would be nice if they took reservations, but it is worth the wait

This was a delightful experience. The food was delicious, our waitress was skilled and knowledgeable, and we ate in the original room/building with the really cool chandeliers with the trains going by occasionally. I got the special, which was salmon with a parmesan shrimp risotto and asparagus. Absolutely perfect in every way.

Absolutely love this place. The atmosphere was very chill and the place always clean. The staff was worth 5 stars alone!! Big shout out to Dekotah (not sure I spelled it correctly). The lone star strip steak was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were amazing. The trout was also on point. My wife said the shrimp were better than mine! Keep it up. We will be back.

Everyone here could not be more friendly! A great experience. Great building and decorating as well. The wait-staff actually check on each others tables to ensure you are well taken care of!

Exceptional! Everything was awesome. This place is super cute. We sat on the patio and had a drink and the chips and 3 salsas. The red/spicy (not too spicy) and black bean salsas were very good. The green tomatillo salsa was so good I would have finished it with a spoon of we ran out of chips. Then we went inside to share the pork medallions. They were fantastic. Tender, tasty, the baby potatoes and green beans that accompanied the pork were just as awesome. I almost forgot the bread and butter and Cesar Salad, they were as delicious as everything else. Service was friendly and on point. I can't overemphasize how adorable the entire location is.

Great restaurant tucked in off the main road. There’s no reservation so expect to wait on the weekend, but they do have an outside bar to order from while you wait. Food was good but that charcuterie board was a 10/10, highly recommend. Note: they do not serve liquor but have a nice selection of wine and beer. I would say it’s an experience worth trying out.

I awesome spot. Haven’t been there in 20 years it’s gotten better blonde hostess was awesome not blonde and dry the waiter I had was super awesome very knowledgeable on the beer and wine and the food and even gave me a few hints on how to order a few things off menu that wasn’t too hard on the kitchen steak was a little tough, so with the duck but the ambience, friendly staff cozy environment made up for the minor details in every way will be going back

First time here and I loved it. The wine bar outside is perfect. We are out there drinking our wine while we waited for our table. The wait was estimated perfectly also. We had the Fried Brie while waiting and it was delicious. I had the Basil Chicken and my friend had the Mix & Match and he for the Quail and beef medallions. We both enjoyed our dishes and had to tap out and took to go plates. They serve good size portions.

What a find in downtown New Braunfels. My husband and I went for lunch because I saw that catfish was the special that day. The location is right off one of the main streets just a few feet from the train tracks. The restaurant is in an old building that has many other things in the past from residences to cafes. There is also a lovely courtyard area with an art cottage and boutique where we shopped while waiting for our table. The service and food were both great. We had large servings of catfish which were served with potato salad, not the usual fries. We really enjoyed our meal and plan to go back soon. The only negative was that the noise level was pretty loud. Normally, we’d eat outside if possible, but it was a cold, windy day.

Unique casual restaurant with delicious dishes and friendly staff. Not only was the food freshly made but was hot and plentiful. Salmon was tender and large portion. Side salad was large. Rolls were fresh out of oven. Wine was delicious and smooth. Restaurant is tucked away by railway tracks under beautiful large trees. We had a great waitress and will return. A little expensive. 4pm not too busy.

This place was 5 stars on ambience and food. 3 on service because they couldn’t get their act together for the Sunday lunch crowd. We waited way longer than they said, but it was on a lovely patio with a glass of wine from the bar, so we can’t complain too much. But when we finally got seated, the appetizers were phenomenal. We split the mixed grill, and it was good, too.

Located adjacent to the Grasssmarket in the historic section of New Braunfels, Huisache Grill has an absolutely charming location and even moreso charming atmosphere. As I'm still investigating the area and places to eat, this place popped up on Google Maps and it was well worth the short wait. Food was excellent and very affordable, the wait staff was friendly and the overall dining experience was laid back and pleasant. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this spot - quality food options that don't break the bank.

Should have called for a reservation. No idea it was so popular, but certainly understand. Great food and service and very unique place. Fascinating to read the history on the website. Very very hot day and we really wanted to dine inside, but because of theater tickets we opted to eat on the back patio which was shaded and had a couple of fans. At 104 degrees, still hot, but bearable.

One of the best meals AND service I've had in a very long time. I had the Yucatan chicken... amazing! My dad had the duck, absolute perfection. The desserts were all very yummy. Our waiter, Nick, was amazing! So fast and attentive. My sister didn't really care for her dish and he had no hesitation in making sure she got what she wanted and swiftly. He also recommended the chocolate cake because it was his personal favorite and he was right! It was delicious!

Took my family member here the other day and it wasn't too bad. The only alcoholic beverages they sell are beer and wine. Some wine they only sell by the bottle others they sell by the glass. I ordered the steak with veggies. It was good but it was a little overcooked. My family member ordered the special. Pasta with salmon and shrimp. The special was pretty spicy imo I think they put too much siracha sauce on the meal. The staff is very friendly and want you to have a good experience. Things to know Call ahead if you can it gets pretty busy on weekends Outside seating is pretty nice It has a boutique type of atmosphere I would go back for brunch or lunch ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nice hidden gem. There’s a parking lot where you park, then walk down the alleyway on the left to get to front door and outdoor seating. It’s a very cute outdoor hangout. There’s a beer and wine bar outside too so that was nice and convenient. We sat inside for dinner. I have the salmon sandwich, which was fully cooked and was surprised it was nice and moist -delicious! They were busy but we had good food and service so I enjoyed it as first time experience. Would go back again.
