My first time training Brazilian Jujitsu- and I couldn't have felt more welcome. The Professor is a Gem of a human, who makes EVERYONE feel comfortable (even my shy 4 year old). The gym is an assortment of locals, Military people (retired and active), kids, and all around amazing people getting out of their "comfort zone" and being healthy. I would give this Academy 6 stars if I could. Thanks for all you have done for this community Professor DaLua, and team! OSS!

Great place to train BJJ! The professor is amazing. He is a high-level competitor, so if you’re looking to compete this is definitely the academy for you. He is also great with kids, my three kids love the kids class. He doesn’t push too hard, he doesn’t push people into competing, he trains you at the level you would like to train at.

I think it's safe to say that I have found my home. Top notch instruction from a very accomplished instructor. All of the students welcomed me, and my son with open arms along with professor Dalua. Everyone works hard to not only better themselves, but the team as a whole. I cannot recommend this place enough, if your in the area this is the place to be.

I’ve known Professor Dalua for many years. Legit instructor with pristine lineage and a world class competitor. Many great competitors are not good teachers. Prof. Dalua is both, an amazing competitor and a great teacher. His students are welcoming and friendly. Mats are clean and sanitized before and after every class. 10/10

Great gym. It's tight knit and friendly, and everyone is welcoming. It is the most competition-focused gym in New Braunfels, but you won't feel out of place if you just want to come have fun either. Professor Dalua has been training and competing for 20 years, and he embraces both old school and new school techniques. There is a good mix of gi and no gi classes.

If y’all looking to feel like you are practicing bjj at the comfort of your home in the company of your brothers and sisters then this is the place, Dalua Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. From the phenomenal technic you will learn (from basics to advance) to strong, respectful rolls to have just time hanging and talking (sharing life) with the teammates. I personally can ask for more, this place we all call home is our sanctuary, it’s a very important place for me and i know it’s also to my brothers and sisters, one week out feel like years!!

I have 3 kids (ages 3, 5 and 9) attending the gym and I’m constantly impressed by Coach Dalua and his staff- their patience, encouragement and genuine love for the sport and the kids. My kids look forward to each class and have already learned so much in their short 2 months of attending. My 3 year old used a move to trip me last week and it worked! The gym is clean, and quiet and great!

We had visited other jujitsu schools but none like Dalua Brazilian jiu-jitsu The classes are super professional and fun. What we most admire about Mr. Dalua is that he is the one who teaches the class. He does not see this as a job, or as a business, our son is not a number, or One more check to this school, he makes sure you feel welcome in a big family here, nobody is better than nobody, he brings out the best in each student. Mr. Dalua is kind, respectful, and above all, he takes care of his students. The children admire and respect him.

As a JIU JITSU practitioner and a JIU JITSU dad I can tell you that this is one of the best academic in the area, from the kids class all the to competition training. Professor Dalua is a multiple time champ and will help you get your skills to a new level.

Professor Dalua is one of the nicest people I know, his classes are very friendly and open to anyone to try out BJJ. It feels like a family in this gym and he is there to help you get better and gain confidence in yourself. Very humble person and have so much respect for this place. I definitely recommend at least giving it a try!!!

Conveniently located right off the I-35. Gym is kept clean by the professor. I like to visit when I'm in town. Everyone is super friendly with a no ego attitude. Great Training!

I have known Dalua for years. He was one of my first instructors in San Antonio when I started Jiu-Jitsu 12 years ago. He continues to strive for excellence in his students and is 100% committed to their development and success. Dalua promoted me to Purple Belt in July of 2014. To this day, many of his techniques are within my Black Belt game.

When we moved from San Antonio, we had a difficult time finding a place for my husband and our daughter to continue their jiu jitsu journey. We honestly found Dalua Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by chance and we are so happy we did. From day one Professor Dalua has welcomed us with open arms and it has been amazing to see how much our daughter has grown in the sport in such a short time. We have found our jiu jitsu family and tribe and that means so much more to us then just finding a place to practice a sport.
