My moms primary had her scheduled to go to St Raphaels ER for tests stating they are more ā€senior friendlyā€. The ER room she is in is unfortunately extremely filthy. Thereā€™s a open toilet and sink in the room next to the computers and needles etc? The floor is filthy all around.,The sheet she was given has dirt on it. Weā€™ve already met with 6 nurses and two PAs repeating the situation and now are told she may have to be in the hospital for three days if they canā€™t get someone to do her test (?). Iā€™ve contacted her primary and am waiting for a call back. This isnā€™t Senior friendly, they are the ones who are more susceptible to diseases and itā€™s ironically this is for a bacterial infection and it looks like a Petri dish. Do better. St Raphaels ER room B6.

This establishment has no regard or care for the life of black people. The staff abuses black patients. One of my dear friends was rushed here and was neglected for heart palpitations and high blood pressure. My friend was left to die.

This has to be the most Disorganized hospital I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I'm a caregiver and my client had an MRI a month ago that required sedation. We got here early to full out paperwork, and a nurse came out to inform us that the hospital FORGOT to have an anesthesiologist scheduled for his MRI, so he couldn't get it done. He is wheelchair bound with shoulder problem and a potential torn rotator cuff. It was rescheduled for today and as we entered the ER where we came in last time, we were met with a miserable woman who made us exit the ER and walk through the inaccessible garage, under the metal bar that you get a parking ticket at. Again, he is wheelchair bound. There is a hallway that directly connects from the ER about 40 feet to radiology. Then we were met with yet another miserable woman who stopped us and demanded we have passes to enter, even though we quite literally couldn't get one as we entered through the garage. We ended up just walking past her. I am absolutely appalled by the treatment we received and the fact that there was such an incredible failure in communication between departments.

I would not trust Yale new haven hospital. First of all the security management director nick proto had a affair with another girl while being married. This is the same guy that will fire you for doing wrong doing. He was caught doing it here while in Yale new haven. Yale new haven protective service is a not good working place. I have a lot of things to show people how yale new haven really works. I understand this is the only hospital to go to but check thing about what kinda of care your getting

My beloved husband was brought there for back surgeryā€¦he never walked again due to multiple staphylococcus infections contacted thereā€¦as well as a stoke. Horrible, horrible placeā€¦run donā€™t walk from there. They killed my husband with their incompetence and negligent care. Iā€™m devastatedā€¦Iā€™ve lost my beloved husband.

This has to be the most irritating place to try and make an appointment. When you call, you reach an answering machine, and no one ever calls you back. When you speak to someone, they will take your name and number, and never call you back. I've had this happen on more then one occasion, so it's not an isolated situation. Calling this place is a nightmare. As far as their services, they are great. Doctors are good. But they really need to figure out their phone system, because what they have going on now is unacceptable.

No beds available in emergency room, so patients are left in hallways for days. When you call a nurse from your bed when you finally get one they take over an hour to come to you. If you order food, you will wate for hours to get it and when you do it is cold and not edible. I felt totally neglected as a patient.

I went to the ED today at 4pm. I was discharged at 1am and told a cab would take me home. In the main lobby, the receptionist told me it would be another 3-4 hours before a cab would be available. So I walked home to East Rock over the course of 90 mins (sat down on benches twice) at the end of November. I'm home and feeling so nauseated from anger about this right now. I'm so done with 30 year old nurses whining at the nurses station about how they want to cry. Join the club. Also some of those nurses are way too green to be in the er. I had a nurse who had limited if any experience putting an iv in. Jesus christ. That's like hiring a graphic designer who doesn't know photoshop. Pathetic. Edit: It's been 24 hours and I can't sleep due to pain and discomfort. Unless you are actively dying, DO Not get help for yourself..at this hospital.

I could not have asked for a better experience. My nurse Halle and Tech Erika were extremely pleasant and accommodating. As was the nurse Melanie and tech Danielle. I thank them for my quick recovery. My room was clean and hospitable.

The Nurse anesthetistIan was the rudest person I have personally met & dealt with in a hospital setting. Considering I was in for a Colonoscopy & nervous about it, the last thing I needed was an arrogant, disrespectful, non-apologetic individual giving me stress & grief. When asked about my prep, I answered it was ā€œGod Awfulā€ & before I had the chance to explain why, this woman had the most sarcastic, condescending reaction Iā€™ve experienced for someone who CHOSE to be in the healthcare field. It didnā€™t help that she had a light impairment and had to wear glasses that I couldnā€™t see her eyes. Dear rude woman: Do better.

Thank you! You guys are always extremely busy but somehow manage the heavy flow as business as usual in a professional and timely manner. Tonight, I am appreciative of your friendly and warm staff and your prompt attention to the cut above my eye. Special thanks to Julie in triage who helped me see light of the situation and offer reassurance before sending me to receive care, detailing the visit for me. Keep up the good work St. Raphael Campus, itā€™s really appreciated more than you know!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I was there for 2 days! 18hrs of that time I sat in a chair in the hallway "express" section being left for dead with a debilitating issue which was getting worse because I was damn near ignored. I had to call patient relations not 1 time not 2 but 3 times just to get the normal medications I am on that allow me to walk. After waiting 18 hrs for mri and still no time slot given I decided to go home since I had developed adema in both legs and feet to the point my feet were HUGE and I told nurses and was ignored. I asked my iv be removed and I left. I was told it was ama signed nothing as I was never given medical advice to go against. The nurses and staff were rude af also. Never again

I recently experienced a four day / three night stay for my 88+ year old father with a heart and catheter condition. He has several other conditions that would make it very challenging for any caretaker. I give very high praise to all the staff at the hospital from ER to 35W on 5th Floor. Special thanks to Ezekiel, Tammy, Karen , Ana and Desiree l God Bless all the staff at St Raphael's .

Absolutely horrible. Go 20 York St instead. Couldnā€™t eat for three days, and after a few hours of IV doctor told me to go home and stay hydrated. Asked but I canā€™t eat Iā€™ll have to come back again, he said he could prescribe me nausea medication but he doesnā€™t know whatā€™s the reason, probably viral. I spent twenty minutes crying in the hallway with three nurses nearby after begging to get discharged and go home because I felt increasingly terrible at the hospital, no one stopped to give me a tissue or even just ask whatā€™s wrong. I was shivering to the point where I canā€™t speak and the doctor said well itā€™s not the IV thatā€™s doing it and left with a shrugā€¦ not offering anything more to keep me warm. When they were about to give me IV and medications they didnā€™t ask if I was willing to accept them or what theyā€™re are/are for, I asked and the nurse said ā€œTylenol and strong ibuprofenā€, I asked why? He said ā€œwell youā€™re in strong stomach pain.ā€ I wasnā€™t. I specifically said before twice that I no longer feel pain and am just dizzy, have trouble breathing, ongoing diarrhea, and cannot eat. Please donā€™t come here. I felt desperate and helpless.

I am an RN from MA who recently had abdominal surgery at St. Raphael. My experience was outstanding from admission to discharge. Beena, Leah, Cris and Nikki took excellent care of me. Dr. Duffy and his team sent me off with no pain or discomfort. If I hadn't seen the trocar sites on my skin, I would never have believed I actually had surgery. I highly recommend this facility and this MD.

I had to stay in this hospital for 8 days. I had the most amazing care on the 4th floor. I highly recommend that if you need a long period of stay in a hospital this is the one you decide on. The nurses and all the staff were so helpful and kind. Sarah from the day shift has the best personality and really enjoys what she does. Riley has an amazing personality. Vanessa on night shift has to be one of the most understanding women I have ever met. Joe is an outstanding nurse. Very kind. If I had to choose a hospital to go to again by far this is the one Iā€™d go to every time

Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Donohue was excellent. The staff , anesthesia, nursing, nursing assistants, physical therapy, were all very competent, efficient, professional and friendly. The hospital was clean and orderly. The overall experience of a shoulder replacement was better than expected.

I intend to make formal complaint against the Recovery Room ā€œPACUā€!! I have been waiting to see my husband after procedure for over an hour!! He is sleeping and there is no reason that I can not sit with him!!

The doctors nurses and staff are a 10 out of 10. The cleanliness of the hospital is appalling. I was so disappointed seeing how bad it is. As a life long resident of Connecticut Yale was something I was proud to have so close. I had confidence in Yale. I have to say that confidence has been shaken seeing how grimy the building is.

My mom recently had a short stay at this campus, and I canā€™t say enough good things about the staff. Everyone we encountered was compassionate, patient, and professional. In particular, I want to recognize and thank Julie in the ED. She was incredibly friendly and helpful, and put both me and my mom at ease during a stressful experience.

Was very satisfied with the care I received in the ER. Staff went out of their way to make me comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. Very professional teamwork!

Iā€™ve been having endoscopy procedures here and I am so appreciative of the care I receive there. All of the staff from the security staff to support staff to medical staff are fabulous! They are all kind, helpful, smart, skilled and patient. I canā€™t say enough good things. I feel safe and comfortable. They really go above and beyond to make me feel cared for. Thank you!!

Here the nurses at night are resistant, I here with a stomach ache vomiting everything I eat I tell them if they have an interpreter and they tell me I don't need one, are you serious? They leave me waiting in the waiting room after they take my vitals, but they transfer the rest to the room and it is worth mentioning that I have not complained so as not to be creating a lot of drama hereā€¦ the service is terrible, do not come here Please It's horrible, they discriminate against you for being Latino in this hospital.
