I was scheduled to have a bone density scan on 1/18. I arrived, only to be told by a security guard that the facility was closed. I wasted over an hour of my time, plus travel cost both ways, and risked COVID exposure for nothing. The next day I called my doctor's office at Blavatnik/Chelsea and was told that yes, I did have a scheduled appointment on 1/18, she saw it in the system. No one could seem to tell me why I was given an appointment on a holiday, and even worse, why I was not called to reschedule before going all the way there for nothing. My doctor's staff was very apologetic, but when I was told to call the radiology department to reschedule, the receptionist who rescheduled my appointment simply told me, "It was MLK Day", in an unapologetic tone. Thank you, Captain Obvious, I already knew that, but I assumed that this medical facility would be open since I was given an appointment on that day. This is an egregious flaw in the scheduling system, showing complete disregard and disrespect to patients' health, time, and money. I have never in my entire life had this happen with any other medical facility. Doesn’t anyone check the schedule to make sure appointments can be kept? This could have easily been avoided with the correct use of scheduling software that blocks out holidays, or a simple phone call beforehand telling me a scheduling error had been made and the facility would be closed. I was given a new appointment for the next day, and obviously they were now overbooked. It took an entire hour and one minute from my appointment time to be called into the exam room, and the waiting room was full, not a good thing in a pandemic. In speaking to some people, I found that I was not the only one who had been scheduled on a holiday. I am now considering finding another doctor to continue my treatment at Columbia, since this has been such a negative experience. I hate to write negative reviews, but I just thought people should know that this occurred, hopefully the system will be changed so it won’t happen to anyone else. The unfortunate thing is that the actual doctors and medical staff are excellent, truly extraordinary and highly competent, kind, caring and professional. Once I got into the exam room, my test was done quickly and efficiently and was actually a pleasant experience. But a facility that can make appointments on days they are closed, or books patients way beyond their capacity, especially in a pandemic, is completely inexcusable. Many patients at this facility are fighting cancer and other serious illnesses, they are literally risking their lives every time they go out to see their doctors and get necessary tests done. At least be open.

Being coming here for 4 years. This place went down from the stellar best place of NYC to an absolute excuse of a hospital. My experience is,with oncology and infusion center. Alll the great staff have left and the leftover staff are soooo overworked that they are brealong down. I just witnessed two nurses throwing f words and slurs at each other in front of all patients. Also, I have not waited less than 2.5 hours for each of my appointments. My dr had 3 patients booked at the same slot and apparently it is a pattern for them. I am switching to NYU langone now. Sorry to see this place and its downhill journey.

I have been a patient of this Mt. Sinai facility for 6 years and in the past 2 years the quality of care has gone downhill. I loved my Oncologist and he left or was push out and nobody there compares with him and his care. I recently was seeing Dr. Kenneth Ashley and at my last appointment he told me he could no longer see me. He said that he would give me referrals and ask if my new oncologist would prescribe me the med he prescribed. It's been a week and I have not gotten any referrals or any correspondence. He didn't warn me before at my prior visit that Monday would be my last visit. He wasn't empathic and the whole experience left me dumbfounded. He is a psychiatrists for Cancer patients and to be treated that way is unprofessional and uncaring. No patient who has suffered and is still suffering permanent side effects from Cancer Treatment should have to be told at the end of a session that it's your last without any follow-up. You used to have a wonderful full-time psychiatrist on staff that was kind, empathetic and really cared. But now it's only 1 day a week for Patients in current treatment. It appears to me that all Mt. Sinai cares about is the "bottom line" and their shareholders.

I had a small mole removal with Dr Torbeck. The Mt Sinai facility fee's are exorbitant and unethical. In addition to lab and doctor bills (which were reasonable and normal), the facility fee was $500, and I have excellent insurance. What's more, my insurance paid out $1450 more than Mt Sinai had billed for, fully covering any portion I should've owed, but they pocketed the money and asked me for an additional $500 for a small mole removal. Avoid this location and avoid massive bills :(

Trying to see the doctor I have an appointment with. First it took 7 minutes to get screened - one guy sitting behind the desk checking how phone, one woman leisurely checking people through: chit chatting, ar Caribbean 1RPM speed. Then I’m told to go get registered. Two people at the desk. One has had a patient in front of her foe 9 minutes. The patient is checking her FB. 3 more patients before me. I’m already 20 minutes late because of this inefficiency. Finally was done and for a bracelet. Went across the hall to doctors Suite -another line stretching beyond the door to the hallway! I’m already 35 minutes late. ! It’s so bad here. Will be switching doctors and possibly hospitals.

Ultrasound appointment was booked about a month out but the actual appointment itself was very pleasant. I was seen very promptly by a professional provider.

I had minor surgery here at the ambulatory center during a busy time. The wait time was kind of long, but the doctors, nurses, and staff were really kind and made me feel more at ease before my surgery. After the procedure, I did not feel rushed, and was able to recover from the anesthesia comfortably. Surgery is kind of scary and uncomfortable (especially since you can't drink coffee beforehand) – but having a team of nice people makes it easier.

The most of the staff there are worst. They are very unprofessional & even the supervisor. I need a hospital administrator to call me asap. Ever since Beth Israel name was removed it’s the worst hospital I ever been to. 🤬😡🤬😡

To much mistakes with scheduling and long wait hours for your appointment. (4 hours plus waiting).

A wonderful surprise and the complete opposite of the Chelsea radiology mill up the street where women are treated like cattle, most staff are surly, and the time of your appointment means nothing. This new Mount Sinai facility, where St.Vincent's cancer center once stood, employs helpful front-desk staff, calls appointments on time, and gets you the results of your procedures quickly, in my case overnight. When calling for your appointment be sure to say you want the 15th St. location. Otherwise, you'll be booked for the busy Union Sq. location which also does a fine job.

Been chasing radiology dept for 1 month to send my radiology report. This is a joke…Langone delivers reports same day/next day. Facilities were fine and technicians too (I hope)…but none of these services are very useful if neither you nor your doctor can obtain the report.

I would have appreciated financial transparency.I booked a mammogram that was covered by insurance. They called me back for further images and then shuttled me into a room for an ultrasound. They did not tell me that the ultrasound was not covered and I received a surprise bill of $600 . I am from a country that has universal health care so am not used to worrying about extra undisclosed charges.

My problem is with the infusion center 1. Long wait time. I arrived 15mins earlier per request and hope that they could honor my appointment on time. And later I was told the treatment room was not ready. It took me 1 hour to be waited at the lobby waiting area. 2. once I sat down in treatment room the woman who takes my temperature had such an attitude, and keep chit chatting with coworker. I don’t feel I was being treated with respect, and the service was very unprofessional. It’s been an hour late, I deserve an efficient service. 3 they kept me waiting for another 10mins and introduced me a translator which I didn’t ask for. I don’t understand why I have been with this facility for over a year and always communicating in English. They made an assumption that Asian don’t speak English? I feel offense for my race I am putting this review because this facilities management needs to implement a training that will help their employees unprofessional and racist behavior

Dr. Rohs and the entire staff are beyond amazing. He is very professional and knowledgeable, friendly, thoughtful, and puts our concerns first. The staff is always helpful and my experience with medical professionals in this office has always been above my level of standards. Very clean facility. I am so glad I chose for my father Chelsea Medical Center and would highly recommend to anyone.
