This is one of my favorite wine bars in the city, tucked away on Centre Street. If you want to impress European friends, dates or colleagues with a wine selection - this is the spot! The staff has created a welcoming and upbeat vibe to accompany an elevated menu selection. The savory snacks suit my palette well and encourage you to imbibe 🙂 - good options for vegetarians and carnivores alike. Highly recommended for dates, 1:1 catch-ups, small groups, etc They do have some outdoor seating in front of the wine bar for a little al fresco enjoyment on a pleasant day.

Hands down, this is the very best wine bar in the city, with a wine list only comparable to top restaurants in Paris. If you want to experience wines from the top wineries, this place is the perfect destination to go. I had a second visit, and once again, I had a blast. Malcolm, the sommelier, has always been so attentive, welcoming, and friendly, with extensive knowledge about wine. The food pairing suggestions were also spot on.

Great place great little Parisian wine bar. Just wish there was more food to nibble on while enjoying glasses of wine

I attended a new year's night as I was invited by a friend who works here (disclaimer given) to a themed space party. The decor was nicely done and everybody was dressed up accordingly. I was happy to see people take it seriously and was told the establishment does hold regular programming. I was introduced to the crew who were all a nice set of people. Given they had a show to run, we said our pleasantries and off they went making other people merry. Let my friend do the ordering. There was an event menu. We first got oysters and some skewers, both of which were nice and tasty. The star of the night was the dessert shaped like an egg shell with a wine jelly. The live dj and music was popping and we both danced and enjoyed the music. So with drinks and two appetizers and one dessert and the music/theme was a night well spent.

One of the best natural wine bars with awesome food. Indoor and outdoor seating. Looks fancy but a very casual spot. Locals love to hang here. Pics from a recent visit. The menu is seasonal. They also do wine tasting classes. Fridays arw Hawaiian themed.

Came at peak time and it was really busy, but felt like service was lacking. Very nice mood environment I just found the chair/couch situation not that comfortable. Cheese display pretty unimpressive. Expansive wine by the bottle menu and nice list by the glass. Mystery glass is cool concept. Personally I prefer other wine bars I’ve been to in nyc, would maybe return for a drink at the bar

4 stars edit to 1 star. I’ve visited enough time to now to reduce 4star review to 1 star. Most of recent visit being tonight on blanc de noir reservation only “event.” Only 2 BTG options for the so-called blanc noir event. Given the lack of decent options, I ended up ordering a bottle from regular champagne list. I didn’t order food, but they still charged “kitchen fee.” Additionally, Given the lack of staff or attentive service, they could’ve left a bucket per table for folks who ordered bottles. Lack of service should be accompanied by casual vibe, but that’s not even the case. Pretentious and curt for no reason. Given 2X retail price per bottles, we have other alternatives ranging from Balthazar to Parcelle I. dimes square. This place is no longer worth a visit. After my 10+ visits, I’m done with this place Beautiful and cozy decor The staffs are friendly and efficient. Don’t get the tartare. Cacio e pepe popcorn was good, but it’s $9 for a small bowl. Maybe stick to cheese board? They had happy hour from 4-5 on Sunday. …. Original review: Extensive natural wine list. If you happen to like South African biodynamic wine, this place is for you.

An upscale wine bar with a very comprehensive wine list, skewed French. Selection by glass is very good too. The burned basque cheesecake was good, but I like when it is more burnt outside. The cheese portion in a cheese plate is smaller than i expected. There is plenty of place and it was 50% full on Saturday night after 8pm so we enjoyed a non-crowded boho ambiance.

A cozy place to grab a glass or bottle of some fantastic wine, and you don't have to be a sommelier. The waiters were so helpful, I simply asked for their recommendations and was pleasantly surprised. No condescending attitude at all. The cheese/charcuterie board was incredible as well. Highly recommend.

Great vibe and a serious wine selection. All wine by the glass is natural, but the wine by the bottle regular. The food is delicious (with the expected Manhattan prices). The waiting expertise is evident.

This was such an experience! Last night, I went here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and I truly enjoyed myself. The atmosphere was intimate and the waiter (I didn’t get his name) was so attentive to our needs especially when suggesting wines for the table. However, I have some minor complaints with the menu. It didn’t have much vegetarian options although, the grilled cheese with mushrooms and tomato jam was a hit! I was very opposed to this because I HATE mushrooms but I really enjoyed, REALLY enjoyed this sandwich - thanks to the waiter. This place has small bites so don’t expect a full meal. Please visit this place if you want to impress your date or just catch up with a friend.

Nice wine bar in Manhattan! Note: if you made a reservation do try to make it on time. We were running around five minutes late and that nearly cost us the reservation as this spot is busy! The wine selection is pretty extensive, though the food menu items are more limited. We ordered a meat and cheese board which ended up being quite tasty, however it was definitely on the pricier side. Overall ambience is pleasant, there’s candles and boppy music. This is a nice spot for a date, or a girls night out in my opinion, but I don’t see myself returning regularly.

If you’re interested in getting a glass of wine than this is the place for you. They have a huge wine list, and it’s a very cozy spot. The staff is really helpful and not pretentious about it. They even have a cute “guess the surprise wine” glass for a prize. We got the charcuterie board which was great.

My favourite kind of restaurant experience: we didn't look at the menu once - the servers and bartenders drove the experience simply by asking questions and making recommendations. Had a cheese platter and a couple of glasses of wine. Lovely experience.

Service outstanding, food outstanding, wine outstanding. Malcolm served myself and my friend last week and both of us with our significant others again this week. Amazing, to say the least. The wines were superb, and, as a somm myself, I can’t speak highly enough about his knowledge and recommendations.

Came here on a Friday night, so it was pretty busy. Was quite loud, so pretty hard to have convos across the table. The wine was unique and very good, but the super French beef tartare was a little too salty for my preference. We also got the basque cheesecake which was quite good. The sauvignon blanc I tried was very fruity and really nice. The pinot noir had a strong earthy smell, but I enjoyed the taste.

I've been coming to La Compagnie over the last several weeks and I have to say this place is amazing and is now one of my favorite go-to stops when I'm in the area. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the bartender Leila is amazing. She takes the time to make you feel welcome and is knowledgeable on the wines and food offerings. When someone takes the time to know your name and makes you a little nametag for your bar perch you almost feel like "Norm" in Cheers. The ambiance is second to none with nooks and crannies for private intimate conversations or kicking back for a bottle of wine with good friends. It's good to have a place like this that is classy but unpretentious. Bravo!

I went there on a Sunday. It was crowded but managed to get seats at the bar. The wine selection was ‘ok’, not great but the place and the service were really good, so that makes up for it.

Cannot be more satisfied! From visiting out of town, glad I made a reservation to visit this place on a Saturday night with my friend group. Charcuterie dream.. neat selection of items. Fantastic wine. Was a very happy gal leaving here! Service was amazing, I mean I really enjoyed the whole experience. The ambiance is a vibe- perfect spot for date night. Will come here every. single. time. I’m in New York!!

Disappointed in my visit overall. I guess I had high expectations. Wine portions could be a tad bit more generous. A bug fell into my glass as well as my friends glass. Not sure where they came from but this happened at the front table. I think this should be looked into because that was a turn off. Positive: Truffle grilled cheese was delicious. Place is cozy.

The staff is top notch! Extremely easy going and always willing to help choose your next glass. The ambiance is absolutely fantastic - not too loud if stuffy, at all. And the food is really solid. It’s a great place to catch up with a friend or head for date night. No matter the occasion, you should go!

We came here at 5:30 on a Friday — serendipitously aligned with Happy Hour :) we proceed to have four dishes off the menu— everything was fantastic. The scallop crudité— the pasta— the Romanesco all OUTSTANDING. The service was excellent, the vibe was chill, and by 6:30 the place was packed. The only thing to know is that it is a tad hard to hear in here— the acoustics are the only real downfall to this gem of a restaurant and wine bar.

A very good crispy chicken sandwich. It had a nice kick and a tangy flavor which differentiated from other chicken sandwiches I’ve tried. The wines here are so good and the wait staff knows their stuff. The beef tartare was very good and presented beautifully.

They got us a seat immediately even though it was super busy. Leila was the star of the night and made sure we had a great time. She got to know us and our wine preferences and returned often to check in on how we were doing and offer up even more suggestions. Taylor had a great ear for music and made sure the beats for the evening were on point. A necessary stop for anyone in the area that's doing a cheeky night out.

Nice place. Good ambiance. Dimmed lights. They do check for vaccinations (thank you!). It gets busy early, reservation probably best if you go on weekends (as we did), wines are nice but small pours unfortunately. A bit loud to have a real conversation with friends but good place for dates.

Came here during a weeknight. Was pleasantly surprised as I had no expectations! Vibe was very intimate and laid-back. Service was great and so was the good. The waiter recommended to share the endives, which I would've never thought to order, but they were delicious!
