I wanted to stop by this place because it has an interesting story and a large whiskey selection. There is a lot of really cool decorations everywhere and it all has a great history. We stopped by on a Sunday around lunch time. It wasn’t too busy and we were seated quickly. We started with a couple of drinks and an appetizer. The drink selection was unique and I really like the drink I ordered. We got the charcuterie as our starter and it was better than most. It had a good variety of items on the tray. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there; the service here was our biggest problem. Everyone we interacted with seemed indifferent and impersonal. After we ordered our drinks and appetizer no one ever came back to see how we were doing and if we wanted more. We were there to have drinks and lunch but the service was so bad we just left. This was disappointing because I really wanted to like this place.

Let me start with the positives - great vibe, great ambience, the bartenders are awesome (extremely knowledgeable, serve you with a smile on their face, and make great cocktails). We tried their selection of gin-based cocktails, and all of them was excellent (we tried Bullet The Blue Sky, Dreaming my Dreams, Here Comes The Sun, What's the Story Morning Glory). However, I won't be going back until they train all of their staff to be courteous or fire the ones that are unable to be. While most of the serving staff was kind and hospitable, one female server in particular kept shoving us and gave us dirty looks (context: we were a large group of walk-ins who were standing around the bar. Given it's a small bar, we occasionally got in the way of the servers. The rest of the staff handled the situation graciously and politely asked us to make way, and we did. However, this one server was horrible to us). Towards the end of our visit, while we were waiting for a friend to finish their drink and another friend to return from the bathroom, the bouncer came and told us that because we weren't drinking, we had to leave RIGHT NOW. Any reasoning that we are waiting for one of us to return from the bathroom fell on deaf ears, and while we calmly started walking towards the exit, the bouncer took the extra step of shoving us as we were exiting. Makes you wonder whether this behavior was inflicted on us because we were a group of brown people in a predominantly white bar. Perhaps I'm being generous by giving Oscar Wilde three stars, but I don't want to take away from things that this restaurant is doing well. However, what could have been a memorable evening unexpectedly turned into an ugly memory that I'd like to quickly erase from my mind.

I was truly mesmerized by the stunning Alice in Wonderland theme at this location. Every corner is intricately decorated, from the white rabbits and the Cheshire Cat to interactive decor elements like flowers that bloom and close. The ambiance truly makes you feel like you've stepped into another realm. What's unique about this venue, reminiscent of Oscar Wilde's ever-evolving stories, is its dynamic decor. I eagerly anticipate their upcoming fall transition to Halloween and then Christmas display. This promise of transformation ensures every visit offers a new atmosphere to immerse oneself in. As for the culinary delights, I was thoroughly impressed. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the pork buns were delectable, and the fruity drinks were refreshingly delightful. But what truly elevated the experience was the impeccable service. The staff struck a perfect balance between attentiveness and discretion, ensuring we were comfortable without ever feeling rushed. This establishment caters to various dining experiences. Whether you're settling down for a prolonged meal with a book in hand or looking for a quick bite, they've got you covered. With a blend of standing areas and dedicated dining spots, it breaks the mold of being just a bar or a restaurant, offering a versatile environment for all. In essence, if you're seeking an ever-evolving, magical atmosphere with delectable food and top-notch service, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Amazing holiday cocktail spot! They have a beautifully decorated interior. Amazing cocktails. Friendly bartenders. Lively atmosphere. It was such a perfect way to wrap the holidays. We had no line and Sat immediately at the bar at 8ish at night on a Sunday. The drinks were fabulous and festive. Highly recommend.

I came to Oscar wild years ago, before Google map reviews or I would have reviewed back then. If you are into poetry, history or romance, Oscar Wilde is a must. The ornate decor and images that adorn the restaurant is so appreciated. The hallway ans stairwell offer antiquated feel with quotes in hidden places if you are observing. Even the bathrooms are gorgeous. Like my first time here, it was packed with good vibes and libations lovers. Food was clean and tasty. Cocktails were unique and plenty. I want to come back more often and with friends.

One of the best experiences in terms of NYC restaurants for me. We went on Sun afternoon, and the place didn't see that busy. However, I do recommend to make a reservation, because many popular restaurants put you in a long wait time list if you don't. I loved the uniqueness and coziness of this restaurant - so many little decorations all around the place, yet everything seems to belong there. The food and cocktail were delicious as well.

My friend and I brunch here and the food was delicious! My friend got the Lillian Bland drink and said it was sweet and really hit the spot. I got to enjoy the Wilde Brunch Burger with fries. You get a good amount of food for brunch and the price wasn't too expensive compared to other brunch spots nearby. Also, we loved the fun, eclectic, and lively atmosphere/vibe.

Definitely a fun and unique experience here, as the Halloween decorations right now are quite extensive. The drinks menu is diverse, with lots to choose from. Didn't try the food but the drinks were yummy and the music and vibe here is top notch!

I absolutely loved everything about this place the decorations were super impressive and they really outdid the theme! The food was really good and i felt full leaving, totally worth the price. The lobster roll was fire! and theyre fries are bomb, i personally love wedge fries. The bathroom was even decorated and the service was really good. We ordered our food and drinks and they cane super fast. The cider beer drinks were really good. Overall i was super impressed with the quality of my dining experience. 10/10 recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed an evening here recently. The food was very good and the cheesecake really delicious. Our server went out of her way to be attentive and helpful. It's a fun place with many photo opportunities.

Not every single dish was outstanding but there were some hits. The decor is phenomenal, cannot wait to see how it changes next season. Servers were attentive. Aside from the fact that I was sitting at a table and had water dripping on my head from the ceiling, I'd say it was a good night out.

I wish people were dancing 💃🏼 Impressive decor, nice drinks. Food is fine for the bar, nothing super exciting, we had burgers and it was fine. Pretty pricey and doesn’t include fries, but for super popular bar it’s acceptable. Great music and DJ, but nobody dance. Probably because it’s not enough space, but it would be so much fun! Worth to see the decorations.

Oscar Wilde is over the top when it comes to its decorations. The food was good, but not great. Although it is decorated nicely for Christmas, they don't play Christmas music and actually feels more like a nightclub. If I can back during the holidays, I think I would come for lunch instead, maybe the crowd would be a bit more laid back and not looking to hook up.

We walked in for a drink as this was listed as a must see place during the Christmas holidays. It was a relaxed environment and we were seated at the bar straight away. I'd suggest looking at when the busy periods/times are, as during our visit it did become very busy so it is not guaranteed you'll get seated straight away. The bar man was very attentive and they have a great selection of drinks. The atmosphere was very Christmassy and a nice magical experience during the festive season.

What a stunning bar! I cannot describe with adequate words the atmosphere. For our visit is was decorated for the Chinese New Year. You must experience this. It’s an old world bar with high class sophistication. The drinks were amazing! Staff were excellent.

Oscar Wilde gets 5 stars for ambiance. The decorations are beautiful and change seasonally. The craft cocktails were tasty. There are some good food options but the brunch was pretty limited, I’d suggest going for dinner if you want a wider variety. Overall the place is good vibes.

Stopped by for a drink and to check their delightfully "excessive" christmas decorations .. the server was too kind to make changes in my drink and make it to my taste. A must go if you in for a vibes/ cliches / corny things.. it celebrates two most major North American festivals - Halloween and Christmas!! Drinks were cool too... I didn't grab any food as I sat at the bar! Hadn't reserved in advance!

I had the most incredible dining experience at Oscar Wilde! From the moment I walked in , the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff were attentive and friendly. Food and cocktails- WOW!!! Each dish was a masterpiece! Awesome interior and decorating for the photo shoot! I can’t wait to go back!!!

Cool cool restaurant with many decorations and it really makes you feel like you’re in another world. But when we arrived, there was no hostess for about 10 minutes and it seemed that nobody understood what was going on or they were just not prepared for guests. It was truly one of the most bizarre experiences I’ve seen in New York City. finally when we did want to sit the hostess told us we had to sit at the bar, even though we were eating dinner, which wasn’t that pleasant. There’s only one bartender for the entire back bar which is quite large too so it takes a long time. But the food is really good. We had the gnocchi and the drinks were really awesome including the wine and some cocktails so that is the best part of it.

Been meaning to visit for ages and got a booking for 1 during lunar new year. Decorations were impeccable (they switch them according to different celebrations)! Tried their LNY menu, had 2 dishes & a cocktail for $68 after tax & tip- food and drinks were pretty good! Quite pricey as expected but it was worth the experience and will visit again.

The decorations are amazing but I didn't fancy the drinks that much. Just not for me. They also closed the tab with less explanation on change in menu etc, especially when we wanted to order more drinks. And maybe that's how bars are, but just not my type.

We had apps and cocktails and all was fantastic. Atmosphere was great- decor changes seasonally. Recommend reservations if you want a certain time or have more than 4 people in your party. We walked in at the right time and the hostess was able to seat us fairly quickly without a reservation but if we had arrived 20 minutes later we may not have gotten a table for our group of 7. We will be back

A must-see bar in NYC! This one of a kind bar is re-decorated for each major season, making it feel like a completely new bar each time you visit! They have the most unique drinks, well worth every penny. These aren’t just cocktails, they’re an experience! The bartenders are highly knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful in navigating what to choose to drink! Even the bathrooms feel like a fun thing to experience on your visit!

You are coming here for the atmosphere and that’s it. The food is very mid and the staff couldn’t care less about the service. I asked for a side of eggs since the menu didn’t specify there were eggs on the dish but I got the dish and there were eggs. I just wish there was a bit more of hospitality from the servers. I don’t even know why the fries were included they were basically a crouton and had no flavor.

We just happened to run into this bar by chance as we were exploring the neighborhood. The name Oscar Wilde intrigued us. Boy, what an interesting find. The decoration is do interesting, unique, and befitting of Wilde's genre of novels. The wait staff were all friendly, cocktails interesting, and the appetizers delicious. Strongly recommend. Examples of why NYC is interesting.

Great atmosphere, the Chicken Pot Pie was delicious, and the drinks were perfect. The service was surprisingly fast for how packed it was. Definitely worth stopping by, but be prepared to move quickly when a spot on the bar opens if you didn't make reservations.

It was a GREAT experience and so nearly a 5 star. Sadly the service was terribly slow and a little confusing (the barman took my card and kept it for about 10 minutes - that was after waiting about 10 minutes to be served). It was the Friday before Christmas though and we entered at the 2pm opening time, so it was very busy. The decor and atmosphere were fantastic. It is definitely worth a visit!!! We didn't eat as food wasn't being served until 4pm.

We were wowed from the minute we walked in the door, an absolutely fun place to be. The 'It' spot! We stopped in for a drink to celebrate the holidays. Didn't order food. Service was fast and courteous. The drinks were delicious. Definitely recommend.

This is an incredible experience. The aesthetics alone make it worth it. The decor is amazing. Very Nomad, but in a period setting. The bar is craft without pretense. I had one of the best Manhattans I've had. My bartender was fantastic. Just check out the pics. Gorgeous. Can't go wrong.

Great place. Great vibe. Tasty food! Quirky decoration. We went on a Sunday evening and it was really busy, service was efficient. Only gripe = most of the tables are high top for eating, not the most comfy and no option to select seating types when you book.

Went here for some drinks and had a great time! The gin & tonics, which they are known for, are delicious and definitely worth a try. The vibe and decor are fabulous and the music was fun! The establishment is huge but does get packed, so if you’re not planning at sitting at the bar, make a reservation! I’d definitely recommend a visit!

This place has an amazing vibe! I went in a Saturday night with friends and it was packed (better try to make a reservation before). The ambience is super cool. The bathroom is interesting to hear the old radio playing old news. Drinks are cute and delicious. Food is also good!

The decor lived up to the hype. We had brunch - I ordered the chicken and waffles and my boyfriend ordered steak and eggs and both meals were delicious. My mimosa was great too! My boyfriend ordered the Bloody Mary and was not super impressed but said “it’s not bad” feels like a boyfriend stamp of approval lol I’m going to take my sister here when she comes to visit!
