🫤 I was so excited to skate here but it fell short of what I expected. I was so excited to skate here but it fell short of what I expected. The ice was in very poor condition, very bumpy, and the rental skates were extremely dull to the point where we felt unsteady on the ice despite being strong skaters. The rink was very small, which is fine, but it was so crowded and there were lots of people on the ice on their phones, filming their kids, cutting across the flow of skating in a hazardous way. One plus is the great view but overall, I don’t think I would come back, even if I brought my own skates.

The place is gorgeous and connected with the World Trade Center. The Starbucks at this place is also pretty. Me and my friend came here to do ice skating which we had a lot of fun. The staff can be a bit friendly but they are busy so maybe that why they sound a bit rude with attitude

The rink in itself is lovely, albeit not as scenic as the ones at Bryant Park or under Brooklyn Bridge. The customer experience, however, is unfortunately not great to say the least. The check-in procedure is complicated, the staff at the entrance either unwilling or not able to explain it to you, even when asked. They ARE trained to tell you everything you can’t do though. We arrived well before the scheduled slot to maximize the time on the ice for our daughters. Due to the terrible communication, we were only let in two minutes before the start, having to rush to fit the skates etc.. When I mentioned this and tried to get my daughters in as quickly as possible, the manager Marc resorted to threatening to cancel the reservation without refund, which made both our daughters cry. Thankfully the staff on the ice was much nicer and very helpful. Marc was utterly unprofessional and not willing to consider our explanation of everything that had led to the situation at any point in the, unfortunately heated, conversation. While there, we noticed six other parties showing up and being sent back to the checkin located inside the mall, they all missed part of their ice time because of this. We won’t be back but would recommend that, for the sake of other guests, the management consider training their staff and find ways to smoothen the check-in process and improve information and communication about it at the entrance of the ice rink.

The area is super pretty and the rink seems fun from the outside but I guess I shouldn’t have expected much for how cheap it was. The glass barricades around the rink seemed really weak, if someone fell on it hard it looked like it could break. My reservation was at 7 and I got there at 7:15. There was already so much shaved ice from everyone skating, I’m not sure if they even use a Zamboni/ice resurfacer in between sessions. There were many holes on the ice that so many people tripped and fell on but the workers did nothing. The skates were awful, I got three different pairs before I gave up and endured the pain for half an hour before I left. There are also no bag check or lockers, you just leave your shoes and bags in the changing room, so don’t bring anything valuable.

I made a reservation for my birthday a week in advance, but they canceled a day before due to "unsafe weather conditions." I don't understand what the unsafe conditions were as there was not even rain forecasted for that day. The worst part was that they gave me a coupon (that has to all be redeemed in one go) instead of a refund even though it states on their website that "refunds are unavailable unless the rink closes". Since the rink was closed, I should have gotten a refund. I tried contacting them through email, but they have not responded yet.

This was my first time going here and also ice skating which was a pretty good experience. I hated the fact that the place is not well equipped with handling of backpacks so you have to put your bags in the grounds and hope nothing gets stolen. I went here with my brother and my friend and it wasn’t a good experience. We are brown teenagers and since it was our first time here we got lost and asked a staff where we could buy the tickets since you don’t buy the tickets from the rink itself you gotta go to the mall to buy it. The staff was a Caucasian teenage male and he was being disrespectful. He was using slangs at us and being mean. So a customer showed us the way. And then when we were ice skating and talking a dude who says he teaches ice skating here in the morning came and disturbed us for over 30 minutes until we left the place. The rink is pretty good itself but it just need to have a better customer experience. *all of the employees had apple AirPods on and they were ignoring all the customers who wanted to talk*

It is a cute little rink in front of Brookfield Place. It gets very busy on weekends. My kids go there once in a while. I think it is a nice addition to the Brookfield Place amenities. They offer single tickets or seasonal.

You need to purchase the ticket, the time slot is available for you to choose. Although the ticket never get to my email, but the staff was very helpful. Nice experience!

Fun times on the ice. Make sure to arrive early otherwise you will be limited to the amount of time you can ice skate.

The people at the desk where you pay were great. The people at the desk where you get your skate are terrible, mostly a girl who works there…rude! And that room is just messy. The rink is small, a bunch of kids but that’s ok if you’re just learning.

We really enjoyed our experience here. It was warm out today in the low to mid 40's so the ice wasn't super great, a little like pond ice, but if you are looking for competition ready ice at a small outdoor winter rink you have unusual expectations. They ice was resurfaced right before we got on which was perfect as who doesn't love a fresh ice cut. To get to the edge of the ice check in was a breeze. We brought our own skates, but we're greeted warmly by the staff at the rental area all the same. Stepping onto the ice surface we immediately started to glide around and have a great time. The view of the water as the sunset was gorgeous. We look forward to heading back again to enjoy this rink.

The Rink at Brookfield Place is a well-run good sized outdoor rink that is a well kept secret in NYC. It is well advised to book your tickets online as sessions sell out during popular times. The process was smooth and straightforward. Check in happens just inside the door in Brookfield Place, with temperature check, then line up for entrance and skate rentals. There was very little waiting and you are onto the rink as fast as you can tie your skate laces. There are doing extremely well with COVID precautions - everyone, staff and patrons, were wearing masks and things get disinfected frequently. The only thing to add would be an outdoor sitting area next to the rink. Highly recommended during this winter season!

This is one of my favorite place. If you visit NYC and u haven't seen this place, u can't say u have been in NYC. This is downtown Manhattan and financial District area. But this is heart of NYC.

I was here at 3:10 to purchase a ticket but the women refused to take the card and told me to buy the ticket online. I was having problems with buying ticket online then I saw her taking other people’s cards right in front of me so I asked her again that why she wouldn’t take my card but theirs. Then she said that she doesn’t take cards but took other’s cs it was close to closing time. Which didn’t make sense cs it was an hour session starting at 3:15 and she started taking cards literally right after me. It just seemed like a lame excuse cs there were two card readers right in front of her that work perfectly. I was very disappointed with the service.

Had a lot of fun, nice place! Twice cheaper than others city rinks. It was a sunny day and the ice was melting a little, there were some small puddles, but that didn't stop us from having fun. I advise you to come early in the morning or in the evening on a sunny day. but overall a very cool place, the kids loved it.

I am so glad no more people know about this rink. It is beautiful by the river. The staff is friendly and inviting. You can rent out a sledge looking walker if you cant skate The skate rental ticket : $20 The walker/support thingy : $15

This small-medium sized rink is fun to skate. The great mall is right here so you can definitely warm up in there while watching the rink (currently there is no outdoor or indoor seating). Indoor you will find restrooms and food and warm drinks (some of the District's shops are open). The views to the pier and water are inspiring. There is a small and a little crowded protected shed like structure where you need to rent and/or change into skates. You will need to pre order your timed ticket online. Prices are reasonable. On a good day you can walk outside and appreciate the 9/11 memorials. On a very cold day you can walk through the mall all the way to the subway.

Fun place to ice skate! Lots of kids / families having fun and a great view of the Hudson. Rink is a little smaller in size, but pretty affordable relative to other spots in town, though you do have to pay to skate and then pay a little more if you rent skates. Had to book a spot ahead of time, and we had to plan a couple days ahead because spots were full the day before. Overall enjoyed it, probably best for kids.

Good experience but you need to book online no matter what so you can't just go and buy a ticket which is a shame when you want to be spontaneous. Lovely view

Love this place. Much more affordable than the other places and the view is great as you ice skate. Definitely coming back next year.

The rink looks small but is reasonably sized if there aren’t too many people there. The room where you put the skates on is kind of gross but that can be overlooked easily. I am a size 7 in women’s and could not find a skate that properly fit. The size 7 was way too big and the size 6 I could not even get my foot into. They also had not cleaned the ice in a while (I had the last session of the day) so it was a bit hard to ice skate at times. Was still fun overall but would definitely not go back due to the uncomfortable skates!!! Probably better to check out a different ice skating rink that is a bit bigger, upkeeps their areas a bit more, and has better ice skates.

This place was the first ice skating experience for our daughters, they enjoyed it. I booked the appt online, entered the mall, asked security about the rink. We had to get wrist bands in their booth inside the mall and then got the skates. They had fun, not as crowded which was a plus. We went on a weekday.

Fun rink along the waterfront side of Brookfield. Well organized ticketing and entry. The rental skate were a kind of wet and cold but I understand that is hard to control with the volume of people. The staff were nice and helpful. We would come again. It's NY prices so don't be shocked. Lots of Tiktokers to weave around.

We had the most terrible experience with the Rink at Brookfield Place with Gregory and Petukhov! If I can give it 0 stars I would! A few weeks ago, I had reserved a skating timeslot for 15 people on a Saturday afternoon for my daughter’s birthday. Our party of over 20 arrived at the check in desk at The Rink and was told that the skating rink is being shut down starting with our session (note that ppl from the previous session were still skating on the rink and ppl with private lessons were also skating well after). We did not receive any prior notice about the cancellation, no phone call, no email! My entire party, kids and adults (over 20 ppl) had arrived to receive the very disappointing news. We were absolutely livid!!! Because of rain in the weather forecast I had emailed the night before to check and was assured that skating is on and if there is any cancellation I would be notified in advanced. To be told that our session is cancelled at the time of check- in is beyond frustrating! Plus there was no rain! It is absolutely unacceptable business practice! Our friends came from all over the city. Even some notice (30- 60 mins) would have been courteous and at least some of them didn’t have to make the trek for nothing! My daughter was so disappointed and unhappy on her birthday because of this. I didn’t even get the opportunity to change our plans since there was no notice given. This is such poor business practice without a thought of common courtesy for the patrons or decency of an explanation or apology for the extreme inconvenience they caused! Without a doubt, neither myself or anyone else in my party would ever come back to this place!!!!

Amusing rink alongside the waterfront aspect of Brookfield. Well prepared ticketing and access. The rental skate had been a type of moist and bloodless but I keep in mind that is hard to govern with the quantity of humans. The staff have been satisfactory and useful. We'd come once more. It is new york costs so don't be stunned. Masses of Tiktokers to weave round

The rink is big and loved the little polar bear assistants. Great alternative music to skate to. Location great and no too busy or expensive. However the ice skates are horrible when it comes to sizes. It seems they are all off a size or two, as explained by person working there. They have man's only and European sizes. My kid tried 3 pairs and never got a comfortable pair. Her ankles are hurting now and only enjoyed the skating for twenty minutes since it hurt her feet. They need to throw away old super used squashed skates or completely upgrade. Also they don't have helmets as other places do. The kids working thete are nice and do all they can.

  • 4/5 Carlos E. 2 years ago on Google
Did ice skating for the first time here. The rink seems smaller than the ones in Rockafeller, Bryant Park and Central Park. When I got in, I noticed that the ice wasn't smooth which made it a bit challenging to learn how to skate. It could be just bad timing, as after our session, they decided to polish the ice. I thought the view of the Hudson River and NJ was nice, and there's wasn't as much people as in other rinks in Manhattan. The price is also generally lower than those other rinks.

This has to be one of the most magical places in NYC simply because it so peaceful and such a great time with gorgeous views of the skyline and trees lit up for the holidays! My boyfriend and I went during Thanksgiving and it will be a memory we will never forget!

By far my favorite rink in NYC. The blonde spanish girl, with the accent, in the front was really helpful and made booking a session extremely easy. Also, the guy inside the rink, who goes by Manny, was really helpful with how to properly wear and tie the skates. Would highly recommend this rink. P.S.~ Nothing beats the view
