Visiting
NYC
from
Western
Pennsylvania,
this
country
mouse
and
his
son
were
recommended
Shake
Shack
by
a
New
Yorker:
she
referred
to
it
as
"well-priced
almost
not
fast
food
burger",
so
we
put
it
in
our
list
of
dining
options.
Walking
in,
there
were
some
digital
ordering
stations,
most
of
them
covered
up
out
of
order.
While
we
were
trying
to
figure
out
the
menu
and
how
to
order,
guy
on
the
cash
register
told
us
we
could
either
use
the
ordering
machines,
or
just
tell
him
what
we
wanted.
He
asked
for
a
name
for
the
order.
We
ordered
two
shake
shack
burgers,
and
I
had
the
lemonade.
Burgers
were
cooked
medium,
and
beef
was
flavorful.
Two
patties
were
on
the
burger,
and
buns
were
steamed.
The
cons
was
how
greasy
the
entire
setup
was:
the
sandwich
will
drip
grease,
I'm
guessing
they
used
80/20
beef
at
the
very
least,
or
even
something
fattier.
I
don't
mind
greasy
burgers,
so
it
was
fine
with
me.
Another
issue
was
the
size:
these
burgers,
while
tasty
and
honest,
are
smaller
than
Big
Macs
(in
diameter).
You
won't
be
hungry
when
you
finish,
but
you're
probably
not
going
to
feel
your
stomach
stretch
either.
Perhaps
it
was
because
our
meals
did
not
come
with
fries
(which
by
the
way,
you
must
order
as
a
side
if
you
want
them).
I
would
equate
this
to
a
Five
Guys
experience:
solid
burgers,
but
a
bit
overpriced
for
what
you
get.
On
fries,
Five
Guys
will
overwhelm
you
with
their
fair-style
fries,
while
the
French-cut
ones
at
Shake
Shack
looked
just
like
the
very
average
fries
you
see
everywhere.
Not
a
terrible
deal
for
eating
in
New
York
City
though,
and
there
are
multiple
locations
spread
around
town.
