I love this place. Charming views, clean water, clean toilets, and good car park. Dogs are not allowed

This is a large sized regional park widely spread in the area. The access to the west side is from Ngawera Drive and east side access is via Warkworth. There are a range of activities which one can engage in while visiting this place. Sullivans bay and its camp ground is popular and safer for swimming, even with little kids. The information kiosk and toilets are close by and are well maintained. Ample parking is available but it gets filled up quickly on public holidays and weekends. It is an ideal place to spend a day or half at the beach and walking in the adjoining bush. Highly recommended.

Excellent spot to park up and hang out for the day. Heaps of shade trees available. Nice spot for family.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place! I went for an evening walk and saw one other person. Even the drive to the carpark is gorgeous - it’s worth going slowly to enjoy the views.

Enjoyed the walking track so much with the open pastures. A few walking tracks provide: Mita Bay Loop Track, 2.1km, 2 hours return; Cudlip Point Loop Track, 3km, 2 hours return; Te Muri Track, 3km, 3 hours return and Tungutu Loop Track, 1.2km, 30min return.

Been visiting this beach for 30 years, it's as beautiful now as it was back then.. awesome fishing at time's best place for BBQ's and Family gatherings, this is a comp site and I'm sure the hiking tracks are awesome. The views are always amazing

Beautiful spot not far from Auckland. Good size beach with plenty of shade and seems to be a safe swimming spot with no surf. There is also a large grass area to setup for the day. Good toilet facilities although I experienced no running tap water.

With this trip we completed the planned trilogy of short trips along this line. First Shakespeare, then Wenderholm, last this place. The last 10 kms feels like another world as the sprawling landscape looks untouched as the greens dive into that mystic blue of the waters. We chose one of the beaches, found a nice tree for shade and had a nice little picnic joined in by our regular winged guests, ducks. These ones didn't shy from stepping on the mat to snatch a bite. The USP is that all the plains are sloped. We saw a big group of school kids who had come to camp for the night and promised to buy ourselves a tent. Between the trail and the beach, the latter won in favor of the kids. Not sure I found enough markers to start any of the 4 trails at offer. They were all little big for our lazy mood. Tents, fishing rods and barbeque really set the tone. A definite picnic trip with family.

Stunning view. Drive further down and you will get to the beach which is very quiet. There was only 4 adults and 3 children on the entire beach! Parking and toilet facilities available. Toilet was pretty clean too. We wanted to do Tunguntu loop, but the track was too soft and muddy. We however stopped at the side of the road where Tungunto lookout was. Highly recommend! Only thing to watch out for was sheep's feces....there was plenty and huge.

Offers a good view, but you have to make your way carefully through sheep feces. The walk is relatively short.

Nature at it's best: peaceful paddocks with ancient trees, quiet sheep and delightful native birds. Amazing coastline with sheltered beaches, accessible rocky foreshore at low tide and views forever.

One of the most beautiful park of an Auckland city. If u want to have a break and enjoy aerial view of landscape then keep eye on ur left with sign of mahurangi regional park it’s only spot to have an amazing view or else u will lead to car park and reach to beach which is also quiet scenic.

Peaceful on the off season. Beautiful small beach and pleasant short walks. Great place for a BBQ or picnic all year round (although gets busy in summer).

Awesome secluded campsite, SCC park and beach. Highly recommend, not very busy and well sheltered. Public toilets are clean and relatively new. Access road has a few hundred meters of gravel road but the steep entry into the bay is sealed. Easily accessible by RV or van. Would not recommend the gravel for any slammed cars though as there are a few pit holes.

A great place to camp and have a good swim. There are a lot of day visitors too. Few short walks and hikes are available but beware, most are involved with steep climbs. Park is usually a relaxed, calm atmosphere most of the time but summer season is really heavy. Clean WC toilets are great and information display kiosk is useful.

👍👍 Take a day trip out to the west coast’s Muriwai Beach and experience the huge gannet colony. There are a number of viewing platforms that allow you to get quite close to them. Try and go on a nice clear sunny day to make the most of it.

👍👍 Such a well kept park. My 2.5yr old just loved it!! She walked/ran the whole way round even up the stairs. You could take a pram but you would have to turn around at the last enclosure and it would be quite steep return. Lots of shade and spots to stop for a rest and a snack. Animals are happy and s...

👍👍 A hidden treasure in Warkworth. We love it here. Bring life jackets for your little ones so they can swim and have fun without you worrying too much as it is very deep. The teens love doing their bombs. Great picnic areas. Make it a day out with the family and don't forget your water toys. Toilets a...
