Great place to explore. Dont be put-off by the road. Heaps of room at the bottom. Very historic & lovely scenic spot.

Fresh and unpolluted in the colder months - in summer there are nearly more people swimming than (friendly) eels. Someone should set up an jumping platform or better still, run an inflatable water park here.

What a fantastic spot to explore It would get 5⭐ if the locals kept their dogs on leads and or under control. Two sets of dogs came running up to us and when they are big dogs it's not a nice experience. Otherwise definitely worth the visit!

Interesting place to take the family. I wish I was able to tell them more about it while there. I didnt see and informational sign of its hat day or anything which would of been cool. I'd def go back, not sure about swimming, my polarized lenses gave away to many secrets under the water lol. Beautifully scenic on a nice day.

It is the ruins of an old cement works it very bad preserved, so there is no safe access to the ruins. You can walk along the river. And enjoy the tranquility of the area. Nice place to go for a quick picnic if you dont have anything better planned.

Really weird place. Some really cool ruins, though unfortunately most of it is fenced off as it's a "dangerous" area. I did see a notice mentioning some ongoing plans of talks with the government to make this area accessible, so that would be nice.

Breathtaking, you feel like you could almost write its story and this is the final chapter, the look of once was grandeur

Definitely a good place to explore the sights but I often heard strange sounds coming from the ruins, at one point I heard a really eerie whistle inside one of the ruins, I really think this is haunted, but overall a good place to go sightseeing

👍👍 Take a day trip out to the west coast’s Muriwai Beach and experience the huge gannet colony. There are a number of viewing platforms that allow you to get quite close to them. Try and go on a nice clear sunny day to make the most of it.
