Worst customer service I have ever experienced! The receptionist have no patient care what so ever! I called at 4.02 to order I repeat prescription as I had ran out! And was told over and over again the same thing! No one at all could help and take my order!! I work and have a family and forgot to call in the recommended hours! So They are more than happy for me to go without medication! Rather than just take the order over the phone! This is not the first time I have had issues with this surgery! It’s impossibly to get any sort of appointment! Never get follow up appointments after seeing a doctors! The patient care is disgraceful! Don’t recommend at all!

Absolutely useless place. Called one day and told there was no appointment, had to wait multiple days before the next call in where I was told again, no appointments and had to call at 8am. No way to book appointments for other days, you have to call in on the same day. Through a phone line that is 99% busy meaning you have to sit on your phone pressing call for what feels like an hour, and even then if you do that there's no guarantee that you'll be able to get an appointment if someone else manages to get in before you! Completely horrible organisational skills for a medical centre, it's no wonder people don't like going to see the GP if *this* is what they have to deal with just to get a phone call with one.

The receptionist is just of no use at all, I’ve moved GP practice a month ago ( that was a nightmare as well) and I need a new midwife appointment, the receptionist just wasn’t bothered to help at all, asked me to call the midwife centre and ask for help, while the midwife centre told me the GP is the one who books new midwifes/ appointments. I’m very worried about the care I’ll be receiving here as am 18w pregnant and I don’t feel safe and taking care of at this practice. Anyone knows how to transfer to another GP practice even if this is the closest one? I’m shocked that this is a medical centre in the first place

It says it all about this place when for once, I was actually in the building yesterday so I thought I'd put them to the test, and I couldn't get an appointment, a sick note or a prescription from the front desk, I was advised to go online and do an e-consult or call the number. The e-consult isn't even working today. How a vulnerable individual would cope with this practice is beyond me. If I could give 0 Stars I would.

The practice itself is fantastic. Lovely doctors/nurses and midwives, I had a great experience through my pregnancy and very reassured during the current pandemic. However, I now have my newborn baby (currently 7 weeks) and I can never ever get through on the phone. It doesn't put me in a queue, just cuts off as soon as I call saying "line busy"- so I don't even have the option to wait in line. I had a problem with my baby at 5 weeks and called HV but they referred to speak with a doctor but I couldnt make a call. When I did reception just told me to try again calling in the morning as nothing available but my phone only connected this one time in the afternoon. I now need to speak with the surgery again but low and behold... line busy! I would love to be able to speak to my doctors without such a struggle!

Having recently returned to the South of England to undergo a hand operation, I had to re register at my old doctors so I could undergo surgery Upon this I contacted the surgery to tell them the situation of what was going on I needed to reregister as my mother needed. Help to look after me after suffering a stroke Having returned to Newcastle 1 week ago I was told I was no longer registered and I had to register again I was OK with this but after going back 4 times because I didn't have a utility bill I lost the ploy and told them there policies was am effing joke as I'd already been registered with them Suffering from depression my anxiety at this point was through the roof Then returning today to be told I could not register Because I used bad language their luckyididnt jump over the counter snd chin the manager But open that I then drove to the Saville medical centre and registered with no I'd snd no letter So I rang back to speak to the manager and asked her to explain to me why when knowing I'd already been registered with them why it was such a chore to register again But she was clearly argumentative and uptooth about every thing I would highly recommend that you do not go to this surgery and register with SAVILLE medical group round the corner Shame on them it's adoctors surgery not an application for MI5 I was also told it could take upto 4 weeks to register. 2 days at SAVILLE

On the very rare occasion you get through on the phone there's never any appointments. You can no longer pre book an appointment or book through the Internet. Had a phone meds review and total waste of time just made me feel awful. Will be looking for a different surgery I think

It's a very sad state of affairs now for this once top notch practice, having been registered here since a 9yr old child and had great service from staff and GP's alike over the decades (Dr Smith & Dr Thompson were superb )and now age 57, sadly this is no longer the case, you try every single day for an appointment (75 redial calls plus) and when you do get through "sorry we're full today try again tomorrow" scenario becomes tiresome after 4 weeks, (yes believe it or not, I indeed work too! so calling at every hour of most days into the surgery is not possible working in a public service providing business!) you then resort to completing an "e-consult" in the hope of a better result to which you receive a long winded text advising "please call the practice for a routine appointment" yeah mate been trying for four weeks now! You ring the practice again after receiving the text, and they're sooo not interested at all, "oh our pre-bookable's for the end of the month come out next week, or go to a walk in centre" If I'd wanted to wait another 3 weeks for 8 weeks of symptoms then why would I bother making contact, At this stage, Westerhope would indeed be better off just completely closing and/or turning into a walk-in-centre, I cannot imagine how the more elderly community are coping with this practice too. If you are thinking about registering here, Please avoid and find somewhere with staff that actually do care and believe in their job role in the NHS, ( I did 14 years NHS and not once had an uncaring attitude of not assisting patients out at any time ) So sad indeed

AVOID, THEY WOULDNT HELP EVEN IF YOU'D BE DYING Worst so far! I really don't want to leave negative review but after months of trying to get appointment I feel they deserve 0 star. No advance appointments, always hear call at 8 am when most of tax payers are at or on the way to work. Even when you try call at 8am you are like 30thbor 60th in the queue!!! Just to find out after 1h wait... sorry call again tomorrow. THEY JUST WANT YOU TO DIE

A GP surgery with a call-you-back system at 8 am, you do not have to keep ringing until you finally get through like some surgeries. The staff care about you, much better than my previous surgery.

I’ve never known a more unprofessional doctors in my life, how this place is still up and running I do not know! You can never get an appointment, whenever I do an e consult no one calls back or gets in touch despite the seriousness of my condition, half the doctors in here fob you off and cannot do their job properly, very few are actually decent but that’s if you can ever get an appointment, the two star rating on here just tells you everything about this place, needs shut down.

No complaints from me, all staff are lovely and friendly and the best receptionists I've ever known at a GP Surgery. Never been refused an appointment and always treated with care and respect. Special shout out to Helen the Nurse Practitioner who is amazing. This is a well run practice and I am immensely grateful that I am registered here

The receptionist can't make appointments or doesn't want to, no help or communication between staff to help patients. Doctors don't send messages and have to wait weeks to try again. Worst run Doctors I've ever had to deal with. Not professional at all

Despite what they say on their website they have NO managed appointments and getting an 'emergency' appointment is a daily lottery you will lose. Disgusting and disgraceful excuse for an NHS practice

Very poor service from the GP, I had several experiences with this surgery with many of the GP’s not helpful at all. Seen few locum GP’s and they were good. I have done an electronic consultation exactly one month back for an acute condition and I get a text message saying XRay requested, almost 5 weeks now and no sign of XRay. Clinicians need a little more commitment towards their patient.I do understand there is increased pressure, at the same time individuals need attention too. The only people who are compassionate is the practice nurses

I am really disappointed! I am recovering from Throat Cancer, I have COPD I'm a T.I.A. patient and still cannot get an appointment to SEE the doctor! I have difficulty trying to talk on the phone due to my voicebox being removed and have a valve in my throat yet they still insist on telephone interviews. I ended up at the RVI last week because I couldn't get an appointment. I am now looking for a different Doctor I can see and then I will be leaving this Group!
