My friend took me here saying the Chez Talal has the most fresh and tastiest food. I was excited to try and it was the BEST quality shawarma I've ever had. I ordered the cauliflower dinner with a side order of chicken shawarma and I absolutely loved it! The staff is friendly and provide great service! can't wait to be back :)

We ordered online for a party the next day and the process was simple and seamless. Our order was ready on time and the owner was there to ensure everything was perfect. The food was hot and well packaged to avoid spills in our car. Everyone raved about the food ~ it was tender, flavourful, and plentiful. This is a fabulous restaurant and earns top stars all round !

Heading to nearby Newmarket Courthouse can be a chore from the westside of York Region. But not if there's lunch to look forward to Chez Talal! Following Kris' advice hasn't done me wrong yet, even when his meals are from 2-4 years ago. I guess something can be said for restaurant consistency! There's many rave reviews for the food here so I knew I had to try it out for myself as a fan of good shawarmas, gyros and döner kebabs. The meal here seems quite popular with young & old alike judging by the senior couple and then the mom with strollers. All of whom trekked here shortly after me. Now after visiting, I'm happy to report back that I was not disappointed. It was certainly one of the better shawarmas that I've had. A super friendly young lady at the counter expertly rolled the hunk of meat and veggies together before toasting for the crispy skin. Chicken Shawarma came with garlic & tahini sauces that were savoury though watery. The moist and flavourful chicken chunks melded well with the fresh veggies, sweet sesame, hot peppers & sour pickles for a flavourful affordable meal. It's true, Chez Talal is located at an awkward plaza, but the standalone restaurant itself looks fresh even having an outdoor patio if you're in the mood to watch road traffic. You're in a good mood anyways after a mini-food coma of a meal. Heck even the ordering counter with the strange UV lighting is fun and eye-catching!

Delicious food and great hospitality! Today I ordered the family skewer meal for 12 along with falafels (which is made fresh😋) and it was amazing. From the fresh garlic sauce to the perfectly seasoned skewers, it speaks for itself. Loved everything about this restaurant! Definitely a must try 💯🙌🏼

I've been coming here since it opened 7 years ago and it has always been a top notch shawarma & kebob place. Got 4 kafta kebob skewers today on rice and it was so delicious that we got another 4 skewers on rice to take home. The vegetables are always fresh, the garlic sauce is amazing, and the drinks make me feel like I'm on vacation. My family loved it, always looking forward to coming again

Very dirty place. Meat is very questionable. I decided to stop by here seeing the 4 star reviews. I ordered a beef and chicken shawarma bowl. My son ordered aBeef shawarma wrap. My other two kids ordered the burger. I took a few bites and instantly felt something wasn’t right. My wife also didn’t take more than a couple bites. The burger was a frozen patty and it was way over cooked. Bathrooms were very dirty and the overall cleanliness is really bad! Try it for yourself, but I’m not coming back!

I'm not a fan of this place because the portion of meat they gave isn't good or enough. Its not packed enough. They have good fries. They gave you a pop with the rice platter. I wouldn't eat here again in my opinion.

Really not bad for what it is, the food is in the top tier of all the middle eastern restaurant out there and they give you a lot of meat. But if you are ordering the kabob be sure the order ahead since it is going to take you about 10-15 minutes

Fantastic food, good value, big portions, and friendly customer service always! Once you have this its really hard to like other shawarma places. A Must place to try, especially the chicken shawarma plates! BEST and most flavourful shawarma my wife and I have ever had!

We were served very friendly. Dips including hummus and garlic were very good. Shawarma dishes were decent however just a bit too salty for us.

I used to love dining here. Service was great, food was fresh and flavourful. But in the past year or so, everything has gone down hill. It feels like they do not take pride in their food anymore. Salad was not fresh, meat tasted old. So disappointing to see this decline in what used to be my favourite shawarma spot. Take the extra 5 minutes and go to flaming stove instead. You won’t be disappointed.

⭐️ Updating from a 1 star to a 3 star ⭐️ 👉🏼 New post: Came here after going to the sauna next door and gentleman working was very friendly and polite 👍🏼 I ordered the chicken shawarma plate w. potatoes 🐓🥔 and my friend ordered the cauliflower wrap meal that came with a side of fries🌯🍟 My meal was good and made fresh and potatoes were nice and piping hot. The cauliflower wrap was tasty as well however the fries were a weak portion size 😒 Despite the clean appearance of the restaurant, there was a strong smoky/burnt smell inside which was a bit off putting 👃🏼 👉🏼 Original post: Absolute GARBAGE: Fatoush salad wasn’t even a typical fatoush salad, it was merely iceberg lettuce with a few tomatoes, cucumber and carrots and 5 burnt pieces of unappetizing looking pita. But even worse… the Chicken shawarma poutine DIDN’T EVEN COME WITH GRAVY…BECAUSE THEY DON’T HAVE GRAVY! Can you even call it a poutine when there’s no gravy?!? And they used shredded cheese instead of cheese curds? Don’t waste your money coming here. We only came because Shawarmaland was closed.

I have been going to grab take-out from Chez Talal for a couple of years now. I have always been pleased with the food, taste, quality, and price. Good bang for your buck. I highly recommend the chicken shawarma and a side order of their handmade grape leaves. The owner is very nice and takes pride in her business and food that she creates for her menu.

I rarely give bad reviews until I’ve gone back a second time in case it was just a bad night. This is an exception because I won’t go back. I believe there is a new owner. The food was greasy and overly salted. The eggplant pita wasn’t cooked well so I kept pulling out pieces of tough skin. Too greasy. Even the sauces weren’t the quality they used to be. I got baba ghanouj but it looked more like hummus. I believe they are cutting corners. The chicken shawarma was also poorer quality. Very disappointed because we used to love this place.

Worst chiken shawarma that I've ever had. The place is very dirty and looks like a homeless person put the tables together. Christmas decorations on the wall from last year. Men's bathroom is a black stained toilet bowl, broken soap dispenser and faucet doesn't work properly. This place gives off really trashy vibes. The complete disregard for this establishment shows that the owner really don't care. I saw good reviews of this place and something is not adding up.

One of our absolute fave shawarma spots in Newmarket/Aurora. First off, the food is very flavorful and portions are large. Second, they are the sweetest, most accommodating people. And lastly they make everything from scratch with simple ingredients! We have a ton of allergies and dietary restrictions when we order sometimes and this is one of the only take out places we can go to because we know absolutely every ingredient. They are amazing and regularly do orders for us for 10+ people. Love them!
