😠 I made a mistake of giving this place a chance. I lost my family doctor at Newmarket Medical Centre, and he did not inform me or any of his patients of him leaving, which left me with no GP. I actually found out about that through my boyfriend. I have been looking for a new family doctor for months.... People often mention doctor, appointment, parking, time, family, called, receptionist, office,

I made a mistake of giving this place a chance. I lost my family doctor at Newmarket Medical Centre, and he did not inform me or any of his patients of him leaving, which left me with no GP. I actually found out about that through my boyfriend. I have been looking for a new family doctor for months. I called Dixon Medical Centre last week and a receptionist booked me in to meet with a "family doctor accepting new patients" for today at 2pm. Lets just call him Dr. K. I was very excited for chance to finally secure a family doctor. When I showed up for my "appointment" today, I followed the instructions provided to me by the receptionist. I wore my mask, I waited outside in the pouring rain and called before coming in. When I called, a different receptionist picked up. I told them I was there for my appointment and asked them to look up my name. I was informed that my name was not in the system and that I did not have an appointment. In fact, I called two different numbers that were shown on Google for Dixon Medical Centre, and the second receptionist I talked to was so rude when I was trying my best to hold my frustration and anger in & figure things out. She hung up on me....both of the receptionists I've spoken to said "sorry there is nothing we can do to help you". I was in tears. This was the one thing I was looking forward to for days on end. A mother and her child were outside and noticed how upset I was. They told me about a doctor that they believed accepted new patients. They gave me his number. It lifted my spirits. I called the number for his office, as well as taking the elevator up to his floor. Turns out he's just accepting walk-ins, and I was informed that NO FAMILY DOCTOR IS ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS. I don't need a walk-in doctor, I need a family doctor... if I needed a walk-in, I'd just go back to my old clinic which is closer to home. So my time was completely wasted. I was lied to by a receptionist that supposedly booked me in with Dr. K (out of curiosity I even went up to where his office is and due to Covid-19, no one can see him anyway)... and was poured on while I was crying out of frustration because no one could/want to help me. I don't drive, so I walked home, which takes 40 minutes. I was lucky it didn't rain the whole time... I am never coming back to this clinic after the way I was treated.

This Doctor Bell actually cares! We were sick, we showed up 2 hours after close, on a Sunday!!! He opened up for us, and did a great job taking care of us! Who else would do that? It was our first time there but we will be back! Thanks Dr. Bell!

PART 1: I am sad to write this review because the doctors here at this office are wonderful and I've been a patient here for over 20 years; however, Saska is an extremely rude, passive-aggressive, and unprofessional secretary. When returning my call to book an appointment, I let her know my availabilities and she said (her exact words) "you're really limiting my availabilities" without an explanation when I gave her availabilities she didn't like. When she looked at the doctor's calendar, she actually found that the doctor was available on one of the days within the timeframes I listed but still continued to sound very irritated and passive-aggressive throughout the phone call, zero apology. Saska also provided unclear instructions on what to bring to my appointment and didn't tell me what time my appointment was and tried to end the call without providing these details until I questioned her further. Extremely disappointed with this experience. PART 2: Yet another poor experience with the secretaries at this office. I called the office to request a specific medication and Denise the secretary told me I was too young to be prescribed the medication even though the age eligibility criteria is 18+ at a minimum and I am much older than that - she didn't ask about any other eligibility criteria before making her conclusion. She also told me that prescriptions cannot be transferred across provinces, which contradicts the Heath Canada Act and medical jurisprudence, which by law, allows all prescriptions written by Canadian doctors to be legally sent and filled across all provinces and territories. I was surprised that the secretary took it upon herself to conduct patient assessments with no medical training and provided such misinformation with regards to prescriptions. I am so disappointed in the secretaries as they make it hard to access good care. The nurses and Dr. Heitzner have been nothing short of amazing, always taking the time to answer questions and make sure all their patients receive the best care. The staff front desk is such a major barrier to accessing the great nurses and doctors at this office.

I needed a blood test, I tried phoning but no answer, I tried to make an appointment but was told that the I would have to wait til Aug 25, twenty days from now. I went there in the morning to do a walk-in just to find out that the blood lab was temporarily closed. Why wasn't this communicated on the website. I had to pay for my parking before I left. This all could have been avoided with a update on the website, I hope people who are no feeling well will not not have to endure this.

I guess they are running out of money to keep the place open if they are moving the pay parking. I don't understand why they would want to move the pay parking RIGHT at the front when it was better positioned in it's typical spot a few feet away from the entrance. It would have been nice if they would have noticed this or at least posted something about this via newspaper, or advertisements, etc.

Can only get in one way on strent so have to u turn if coming from west on Davis. Parking fee of $3 ....cash only. Pharmacy is well prepared to provide change for parking with purchase. Would be great if parking exit was upgraded and took credit/debit tap.

Nice staff. The doctor is so nice and approachable. I have a strong medical background, so I can tell if a doctor knows what he/she is talking about. Once I cam with a medical issue and the doctor wasn't so irritated discussing it with me and agree with my initial diagnosis. Every time I go I don't have to wait long which is so good. I highly recommend it.

Lifelabs is so slow! I was the first person in and while no one was in line behind me, I waited over 30 minutes for the lady behind the desk to enter an adress. She also liked to let the whole place to know what she was doing. β€œOh shoot, sorry everyone, it’s going to be a bit longer because this got erased.” Overall, nice people, but VERY slow.

The way they charge the parking fee does not make any sence. You have to pay $3 for parking at teh exit and it only sccpets loonies and toonies.A year ago customers could get coins from a machin in the hallway. but now they removed the machin and istead you have to do a minimum $5 purcahse from the pharmacy to get the coin. I think they should seek other business models to earn money.

Dr. Bell is amazing! I've seen him a few times and he is always caring and willing to take the time to explain things. Wait times are also minimal compared to other walk-in clinics. 5 stars :)

Dr Zajc-Dalcourt has been our family doctor for years and we love her! Wait times are usually fairly long but its to be expected at any clinic.

The receptionist remembered little details when we showed up in person, that were only mentioned in passing while booking our appointment. Talk about warm greetings!☺️ The doctor always spoke directly to our 10 year old daughter first and only spoke to the mom if the daughter couldn’t answer. Talk about excellent bedside manner towards children!😊 We will definitely return if there is ever a need and highly recommend to anyone.

Have change in your pockets, because you will have to pay for the parking in coins. First floor pharmacy has extremely rude employee Yusuf who is not changing bills and you have to buy smth, water for $2 - what a rip off
