The trail is short, maybe about 10 minutes to the bottom. The way down is easy. But the way up is brutal!! those stairs 😩 would definitely do it again. The view you get is just breathtaking. I also went on my hike on a Monday around 3 PM. I only saw three other people! I don’t know if it’s normally that quiet. But it was amazing, Felt like I had it all to myself

A great place to hike, if you can handle the over 200 stairs. Once you get to the bottom of the stairs, it’s a fairly straightforward hike down to the beach. The beach is pretty and offers views of the whirlpools made by the mighty Niagara river. While I did see some people swimming here, I don’t know that I would feel comfortable swimming myself due to some of the algae I noticed on the water, and knowing that there are strong currents nearby. There are trails that can take you closer to the river, but they are not sanctioned by Niagara parks and are not for the weak. There have been many rope rescues as a result of those venturing off the trails.

Nice short trails down to the water. Clean but lots of incline/decline. Be prepared to walk up and down lots of stairs. Also the water currents are very strong. Even though I saw some people wading in the shore line I would advise to steer clear of that unless you really like being pulled underwater by a thing called a whirl pool.

The hike down to the whirlpool is steep incline and unfriendly to those that do not have cardio. There ought to be a defibrillator at the mid way point for when you go back up. The path is built up and there are stairs, so you don’t have to worry about bush wacking. The view is spectacular! Lots of fisherman along the beach.

This is on of my favourite hiking places. There are a few trails to follow and you get a great up close view of the whirlpool. I definitely recommend this place if your looking for hiking trails.

Not only where the awful lot of stairs to get down and back up quite literally breathtaking, but also the view once you get to the water, truly was amazing. The trail itself is very short as most of it consists of stairs. We went to the butterfly conservatory beforehand as it is just down the street to make more of our day. Either way, this spot is stunning and an amazing spot for some nice pics!

Now thats a gorgeous gorge! Lol great time of year to see the fall colours. Tons of hiking to do and the fishing is incredible all for free! There is also free parking available close to the trail heads if you look hard enough if not you can park at fishermans park for $15 a day. Many attractions near by make a perfect weekend.

Amazing trail. Beautiful view of the river, aero car, jet boat and the helicopter 🚁. Well going down the stairway is easy but not coming back. Will make you breathless.

I took my kids for a hike here and it was beautiful. Stairs may be a little much for some but my kids didn't mind them. They enjoyed the walk and there was a little waterfall they were able to get wet at which they loved. The rocks can be slippery though and my husband did fall once so just be careful! I took my pup too and he loved all the new scents. Be careful around the water, it is not intended for swimming and can quickly take you under. I parked by the golf course and would recommend doing the same.

The hike was great, easier down than up though. The beach is rocky, more for sightseeing than a beach towel. Beautiful place, very peaceful

Wonderful place for a good hike and to chill. The route leading from the upper hill is a little steep in certain spots and makes the hike more fun and memorable. It's a really short hike of about 15mins but really worth the while. The view at the beach is gorgeous because of the whirl and the current in the water is really cool to watch. If you like a calm place to do fishing, I would recommend this.

Like others said, the hike up and down can be intense for some. If you have back or knee problems, bring a walking stick if steep inclines are difficult for you. It took us about 10 minutes to hike down and a moderate pace. The beach area is breathtaking and you will see lots of fishermen along the banks. Don’t be foolish like me and forget your sunglasses if you plan on staying at the beach for a while.

A very nice place to hike if you've got a guide or is familiar with the area. Otherwise, it'd be quite easy to get lost and loop around a an extra half hour haha. The trail to the whirlpool at the bottom can be quite difficult for the elder or young. Lots of rocks at different elevations can make the trail rather hard to traverse.

I love going down there to fish, but the stairs going up sucks. The fishing is good one nice day when water is clear. The hike is always fun

This place is peace on earth. A climb down and up are challenging and not for the faint of heart, but worth it when you get there!

Awesome place! Smells like ocean water here. Nice trail with lots of beautiful bature but it has some steep hills and angles especially the stairs in the beginning. Great view for sure.

Wouldn't call it a beach. But it's a good day trip for the family or even for some fishing.

(Translated by Google) Great place for a walk. The path leading to the Niagara River is reminiscent of a rainforest documentary landscape. Very tall trees, high humidity, huge rocks, a narrow path, a stream, as it flows from the mountain to the river. At the bottom near the Niagara River on the shore there is a small beach with stones of different sizes. From time to time the water level in the river rises creating the impression of a constant cyclical inflow and outflow. Fishermen often fish in the water, so you can watch them. Very interesting and very beautiful, but stock up on strength and patience when returning back to the mountain. I recommend!
