Went for a weekend getaway. All staff were friendly, courteous, professional and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We purchased a weekend package, it was a good value for the money. We had hoped to go skating at the outdoor rink, but when we arrived we found they were cleaning the ice. ( Necessary), however it took a long time. When we looked for somewhere to sit and get warm, we found that most of the supplied propane heater pits were not working. A bit disappointing. We had limited time to skate, so we left. Unfortunately the rink was not open until noon the next day, after we had checked out and left. The facilities were clean and spacious, and it wasn't overcrowded. Everyone was distancing and following protocols. We booked our dinner reservation last week when we purchased the package, it would have been nice to know about booking the hot spring spa option at the time as there were limited spots when we arrived. This was a one time weekend for us being local, it was enjoyable, but will look for other options or opportunities in the future

Did the full spa experience with a massage, facial and pedicure. It was an amazing experience. After we finished with the spa, spend some time around the outdoor pool with a drink in hand. Booked a room for the night so that we could enjoy our get away. Had dinner at their Canary restaurant and enjoyed the Mushroom Risotto. The garden across the road was a nice spot to relax for the evening. Highly recommended for a short getaway for a day of pampering and an evening of fine dining and relaxing.

Wow. Beautiful building. Perfectly furnished with cozy furniture. Adorned with paintings and flowers. Beautiful dining rooms, bar, pools, spa. Walked in here for a quick drink and was amazed by its beauty in architecture and design. I have stayed here a few times in the past and did get married in The Library a few women earlier and can attest to the elegance and comfort of the rooms. Truly a treat for all the senses. The food is amazing, the service is first class. You won't want to leave.

We decided to treat ourselves to a new years spa day at Pillar and Post, we enjoyed a couple massage, the hot spring, sauna and heated pools. Very relaxing experience, customer service was top notch and all spa and hotel amenities were very clean. We did stay the night (this was our first time) and the hotel room was very clean and rustic. Overall excellent night. A little pricy but would highly recommend for a date night, special occasion or just a night away. I didn’t get to take many pictures as the top priority was to relax :).

Your customer service reps needs more training and need to work on being friendly over the phone. We have been trying to book a room for over a month and we have gotten nothing but attitude over the phone and a run around. I’m so disappointed. I’m even more disappointed that I had my wedding and honey moon there and this is the kind of service we get. I can’t even get a hold of a manager, what a joke. Do better pillar and post!

An amazing place for a relaxing getaway. We were here to celebrate my birthday. And right after a quick check in, I was given chocolates and card to help us get started on the birthday celebration. Our room 208 has a nice garden view which is very quiet. The air conditioner is a bit tricky to get the right temperature but the overall room is very comfortable. The spa area has a nice lounge with tea and coffee. The hot spring require reservation but with maximum of 10 people occupancy, we still founded a bit crowded. But if you’re lucky to be there by yourself, then it’s an excellent spring. The location of this resort is just right. It’s walking distance to downtown area and it’s right next to a bike path which can lead to Niagara Parkway Trail. The Gardens right across the resort is perfect for an evening stroll after dinner. This is one resort we will come back for many different celebration.

Stayed at the Pillar and Post yesterday for one night to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. The hotel provided us with a bottle of wine and a rose which was a nice touch. Unfortunately though, the room smelled very damp and musty throughout the entire stay. The bathroom was really dirty. The vanity didn’t appear to have been wiped down, hair on the toiletries tray and in the tub, the taps in the shower were dirty with mildew and dried product and the door had make up fingerprints all over it. Just didn’t feel like the room got a proper clean and sanitization at all. For the price ($600) and 4 star rating of the hotel it was sub par. This hotel could do with some updating to maintain its status of a 4 star hotel. That said, the outdoor pool and garden area were nice and the breakfast was good.

Always a beautiful experience at this hotel. William at front desk was wonderful and we came for our anniversary and they made sure to make us feel welcome! Thank you to all the staff including the chef at The Cannery for the delicious out of this world dinner and meals! The spa - the hot springs was just as amazing as ever. I had a wonderful spa treatment at Prince of Wales which just made this stay more magical! Thank you to all the hard working staff!

Why we continue to visit the Pillar and Post. For this past weekend my partner and I stayed in the spa wing, although we didn’t get to utilize the service it was a gorgeous room, classic 4 post bed, a wonderful layout, open concept and spacious bathroom. The bed, linens and pillows were all above our expectations. The package included dinner at the Cannery which is certainly a highlight and one of the reasons we keep coming back. The package continued with breakfast the next morning which we are always greeted with good mornings and smiles from all the staff. This brings me to why we keep coming back, the customer service lead by a great management team with trained staff ready to support your needs. One of our favorite people is one of the night managers Tim who will move mountains to support anyone staying at Pillar. Tim supported us in arranging transportation, great suggestions on places to go and is just an all around happy and helpful friendly gentleman. We adore the Pillar and can’t wait to come back soon. Highly recommend.

In my opinion, this is one of the best hotels at Niagara on the Lake. The fact that Queen Elizabeth II stayed here in 1973 is really cool. The room she stayed in is marked with a sign. This hotel has a buffet, pool/hot spring, and a spa with skin, hair, and nail treatments. I'm pretty sure there's also an outdoor pool but I stayed here during the winter so I don't know.. The vintage style of Pillar and Post brings a warm, cozy vibe, that goes along with the big cozy queen size beds. The room I stayed in had 2 Queen size beds, a TV, and a safe I'm pretty sure.. I recommend this hotel for everybody because there's always something to do no matter what!

Luxury and comfort! We checked in and immediately grabbed our robes and started relaxing. Went right to the Hot Spring and from there to the indoor pool. Got some excellent food for lunch at Vintage Wines Lounge and later had dinner at the Cannery. Niagara on the lake is beautiful, but we never had a reason to leave the hotel!

Took in some Christmas cheer in Niagara-On-The-Lake. Spent a night at The Pillar and Post and a night at The Prince of Wales (both Vintage Hotels). Both are really nice old Hotels with all the amenities. They each have an indoor pool and the Pillar and Post has an outdoor “hot springs” which is really nice if you want to have a soak amongst snow covered trees. The hotels were tastefully decorated for Christmas giving an even warmer feel to an already cozy stay. The added bonus of going at this time of year is great holiday package pricing, a significant price difference from their busy summer season. The town is quieter if you like to shop and eat with fewer people and no waiting lists.

A beautiful stay as always. All the staff offered top notch customer service, Matt at reception made us feel like royalty upon arrival and gave us a delicious wine and chocolates for our special occasion. The spa and hot springs are dreamy and I felt renewed coming out of their spa facilities. Room was gorgeous with a fireplace and a large bathroom. Would definitely stay again.

Been coming to Pillar and Post for many years. Always a nice quick little escape. The rooms are usually excellent, but The Cannery restaurant is always the highlight...always top notch for either dinner or breakfast. The pub-style spot inside too is great. The hot spring is a must do.

What an amazing spot for a girls' weekend. The outdoor pool is heated and very sheltered from wind, so with the help of fluffy robes we were able to take in sun by the pool in the middle of a Canadian April! The staff were helpful and very accommodating, even with our rowdy group. The shuttle service was prompt, and driver Ruth was an absolute doll. The lobby coffee was the best I've ever had, 10/10! Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in wine country.

  • 4/5 Joel B. 1 year ago on Google
Property is beautiful, although we missed out on what is likely a more stunning view as the gardens were not in full splendor in late April. Rooms are a bit dated but comfortable, the beds provided a wonderful night's sleep. We noticed a bit of dusting needed around the room, but were pleased overall. The location is perfect, just a quick jaunt to anything with a great downtown for walking. We'd come back in a heart beat.

What a beautiful spot! We visited this week for a night for our mini-moon. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. The decor is beautiful. The food is delicious. If you have a chance, definitely visit the gardens across the road! We also thoroughly enjoyed the spa. Definitely try out the hot spring pool!

The hotel is very beautiful and welcoming upon arrival. Inside and out. I found the rooms a bit dated. Please replace the shower curtains. Otherwise rooms were clean and warm. **The front desk staff is great. Very thoughtful and professional.** We booked treatments at the Spa and for the cost found it very underwhelming. Ill fitting and Painful slippers. No one took the time to show us where the amenities were. We were pointed to where the lockers were. We had to ask where we wait for our treatment; and the featured fountain spa was out of service. Very disappointing and not what you would expect for the price. I would stay at the hotel again, but would stick to a registered massage on the SPA side so I could at least put the cost through insurance.

A very unique hotel that has everything you need for business or pleasure.... although finding stuff is a bit of a challenge. The hotel is a maze of hallways and connecting rooms. The supplied map only shows guest rooms and not all the other meeting or group rooms. The food is amazing although there is only 1 restaurant "The Cannery" and you need a reservation for dinner. We had the breakfast and lunch buffet there and it was very good. They do serve pub fair in the bar but not much more. I would come back and stay longer next time. I feel we didn't experience all there was to offer.

We got married here Friday and stayed the long weekend The wedding was perfect. Antonella is amazing and so kind. Our bartender was really personable and thoughtful. Food was fantastic at the wedding and the cannery puts on great meals as a restaurant. Our room was impeccable and we loved the spotless pools and hot springs. Honestly everything exceeded expectations and I could not be more thrilled. The jacuzzi tub in our room was a wonderful touch. Thank you for everything! We will miss you now that the wedding is over, Antonella!!!

The front desk addressed our concerns with care and professionalism, which we appreciated. The last call for food and drinks was a bit too early, but the place was charming with a lot of interesting history (incl. a visit from the Queen). I'd recommend it if you're looking for a quiet comfortable stay.

We stayed at Pillar and Post for a family wedding and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. We were only disappointed to discover that we should have requested it if we wanted our room cleaned and the bed made. We enjoyed the outdoor pool - much warmer than the indoor one, and I took advantage of the fitness room as well. The breakfast was probably the best we had in a Canadian hotel, with the omelettes individually made to order right in front of the guests. Weddings are clearly their core business, and they are done right with attention to every detail!

This was a birthday getaway for my spouse. Although we only spent one night, it felt as though we had been gone for a week ! The atmosphere is so relaxing. The indoor and outdoor pools, the hot spring spa are wonderful. The staff are courteous and friendly. Our room was gorgeous and the food is fantastic. We are planning on doing this visit annually. Worth every penny.

A classic Vintage Inn at the Niagara on the Lake area. Fine dining and lovely accommodations. Great staff. The pool was heated to a fantastic 85. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was well made to order. Rooms were comfy, slightly worn, but nothing off putting. We found the A/c to suffer and the room warmer than we like. Might've been user error, can't blame them entirely. The newer 5 acre gardens are lovely and set up for outdoor drinking with propane fires. There is a free shuttle to the main drag for shopping and dining options, but the walk was less than 10 min.

My friends and I had a good experience here last weekend to celebrate a bachelorette weekend. Check in was quick and easy. The rooms were relatively easy to find. Access to a variety of amenities were included in our stay such as the indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, and hot springs. There was some confusion about making reservations to use the hot springs, but it was eventually sorted out. Note that it is not a saltwater spring! Everything was very clean. Water and hot beverages are provided free of charge in the lobby and the spa. Overall, good experience and love that there was a great restaurant on site for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

We went for a wedding and you truly have an experience. Reception staff are welcoming, professional and want to attend to your every need. Rooms are spacious & great beds! Wedding venue is fantastic! The pool, even tho it was chilly outside, is heated with a gorgeous fire place. Wanted to "take" a robe home, but, I'm honest! You will love it!

Would absolutely stay here again. The hotel is beautiful. Old, (but of course that is part of the charm) but beautiful. Great, friendly, helpful staff. Great food/wine/ cocktails. The “garden” area across the street is an incredible feature to this property. Massive garden area with green space, bar, many seating areas- and even summer games like cornhole. If we’re able to come back, we’d love to spend more time hanging out in the garden area.

This is a beautiful spa. They have many treatments, an elegant decor, surrounded by vineyards. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is their bathrooms are quite dated with narrow tubs and no ventilation. Also the foods - although so rich and lavish; they are heavy meals relying too heavily on butters, sugars, and salts that made me feel ill. I would expect that for take away foods, not for individual dinner dishes that are $50+

First time at Pillar and Post and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful with a fireplace, very large room, in great condition. We loved the rose on the bed at turndown, a nice touch. I believe this is a very well run hotel, all staff seem on their game with great customer service. We loved the various pools. The outdoor pool was amazing, while air temp was about 50 degrees, the pool was definitely above 90, and always had people swimming and enjoying themselves comfortably. We loved our weekend here and will come back.

Amazing hotel and restaurant, but wedding services and coordination was awful. We had our wedding here in 2019, during the planning process we were cycled through 3 or 4 wedding coordinators - either they kept quitting or were shifted around internally. The coordinator we ended up with for our wedding was new and seemed very inexperienced, she was in over her head. If you’re considering your wedding here, I would highly recommend hiring and bringing your own day of wedding coordinator. There was SO much miscommunication and it made the entire planning process frustrating and stressful. Just to name a few things....there were much more though. They tried to charge us the 2019 higher pricing when we had signed a contract to lock in pricing for 2018. They screwed up a bunch of things the day of too; they didn’t have enough chairs for our guests at the ceremony so about 20 people were standing akwardly, they also left an empty row in the front so our pics look odd. They missed a few lace settings during the reception too and had to quickly set up extra chairs and plates etc. while guests stood around waiting. We were told the coordinator and support staff would not be able to help us set up the reception room the day before the wedding, so we scrambled to get help and I even came down before in my wedding dress to set things up. They also leave around 9pm so there was no coordinator after dinner to help with anything. Again, we were told this the day before our wedding. They also told us there was only one much smaller wedding on the same day, but I saw 2 or 3 other brides and we had to fight for space for photos because the coordinator got all of the timing wrong. I complained to the manager, but didn’t hear anything back. Good luck to any brides getting married here, make sure you are super organized and have lots of help. The florist there was great, it was our saving grace. Barney and his team do an amazing job at clippings.

Its beautiful like always, restaurants and indoor and outdoor pool are open. They have a gorgeous winter garden with outdoor bar now. Covid has some necessary restrictions in place - no hot tub or sauna and 2 hr dining limit per reservation and obviously masks indoors when outside your room. However I've heard as of Monday niagara is going into the red zone so not sure what restrictions will be implemented going forward.

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary with the Christmas Wonderland package. Though we are local, it was nice to “get away” for an evening and enjoy all that Pillar & Post has to offer. We strolled through the gardens, snuggled up by the fire, and enjoyed our s’mores and hot beverages while watching an evening movie under the stars. It was the perfect evening.

Hotel lobby is small but nicely decorated with Christmas atmosphere. Very nice and hotel staffs are very friendly. Surprisingly the outdoor pool is opened during the pandemic. The water in the pool is hot . There is a secret garden across the hotel for hotel guests during the Christmas holidays season, but it doesn't have much Christmas decorations and lights. It's a bit disappointed. But the hot beverage and the afternoon snacks is good during the cold weather.

Despite COVID they did a great job making us welcome. The safety measures were adequate without being too obtrusive. Had a nice dinner and massage. Was strange seeing Niagara on the Lake so quiet but was definitely a relaxing getaway.

Everything but the bed and pillows are amazing. We ate at the restaurant and the food was some of the best I have ever had. It's expensive, but well worth the price. If you get the dinning credit with your stay it's inexpensive for fine dining. The outdoor hot springs is amazing, the colder the temp the better. There was even a blizzard and we were able to stay outside. By far my favourite place to go to unwind. 🥰😍🥰

This is a great little cozy inn. Too bad the hot springs and the saunas were closed but I'd definitely come back when stupid covid stops taking over our lives. Amazing service . Amazing restaurant on site. Don't you guys dare take that stuffed chicken off your menu .. I'll be thinking about it until I come back again . Clean cozy rooms, awesome indoor pool. Didn't find any ghosts which is the only disappointing thing about my experience here. Hats off to Amy at the Cannery , she's awesome .

The hotel was amazing. The cannery was perfect, food was excellent. The staff was courteous and professional. We had a small issue with the makeup light not working, within 10 min a maintenance man was there fixing it. That was at around 1130 pm.

A beautiful stay, we were celebrating my husbands birthday. Its a lovely inn and we had a comfortable room, it was a shame that there were no king size beds available when Hannah checked us in. Also the spa was fully booked as well. Hopefully next time. Our meal in the lounge was delicious and our visit to the Cannery for dinner was fabulous and service was just outstanding as well at both places. Our server Kayleigh was warm and friendly, we chatted at length, it was a welcoming feeling at this inn. We would definitely visit again. It was a travelzoo voucher which also included a tasting at The Hare Winery. It was a lovely getaway during these stressful times.

Had a great mini vacation here ! Cozy, clean, cute . Great service. Great little gym. Great pools! Only thing is please make the pool temp outside a little warmer in the colder months . It's a bit too body temperature-ish to be comfortable when it's cold out , but nothing a glass of wine won't fix from the bar inside The package with the dinner is worth it. Must eat here it's so good.

Amazing place, very friendly, very unique. Amenities are top notch and the food was really out of this world. Our only issue was bathroom wasn't the cleanest, easily removed shoe scuffs were visible, toilet was wobbly and our coffee machine made cold coffee in the morning (room 230). Nothing too bad but for a high end place I would of expected just a little more attention to detail.

Stayed here for 1 night with my husband to celebrate our first year wedding anniversary. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming! They all wore masks and hand sanitizer was readily available. Hot tubs were closed as well as the outdoor hot spring, but the outdoor and indoor pools were open. We had a couples massage and it was very relaxing. The food was delicious at the lounge and at the Cannery for breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. I gave a 4/5 since there were no upgrade suggestions or special greeting despite them Knowing it was for a special occasion. Overall though it was a good experience and would definitely return and recommend to others who want a relaxing and Victorian vibe vacation!

A quite nice experience otherwise but I couldn’t help but notice the Turkish themed room; it had Arabic letters on its walls. Maybe go through the trouble of googling Turkish before generalizing, we use Latin alphabet and the language is far from Arabic.
