When I planed to visit Berlin, I had no idea where and what to visit, and know nothing about Berlin. So decided to join the Discover Berlin tour, it was good experience then decided to do the Alternative tour next day, no regret no disappointment. Best way to explore a country!! and our guide The Canadian Chris was best! Although he’s not a Berliner but he knows and loves Berlin inside and out. He’s funny, friendly and helpful! Thanks Chris, my trip was fun with you. Now I’m going back with more knowledge of Berlin!!

I had two tours during my stay in Berlin. The first one was the "Welcome to Berlin" tour with JR and the second one was the alternative Berlin Tour with Xavier. Both of the tours were very interesting and informative. The guides were also very friendly and had no hesitations in answering questions. I learned a lot about the history, discovered interesting places and graffiti and most importantly - I had a really great time in Berlin. Thank both of you JR and Xavier for that!

My friends and I did the alternative tour in Berlin and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. Canadian Chris knows the city and its history super well, gives great recommendations beyond the tour and is a really funny and friendly guy overall. I can highly recommend joining a Walkative tour if you get the chance! :)

We had the opportunity to walk and listen to Mary. She had many amazing stories of Berlin, that we talked about it for the rest of the evening. In fact the guide was so good, we went on the same walk with her the next day :).

Absolutely fantastic, amazing, incredible tour. Ru was amazing. A wonderful look at Berline in the 'Welcome' tour, it touched enough on every important development and phase of the city to give context on any topic you'd like to dive more deeply into. Cannot recommend enough... was possibly the best walking tour I've ever taken.

We had a walking tour with Jules today. She was very friendly and very informative. She had no hesitations in answering questions. We learned a lot about the history but she also kept it very fun and interesting. She also gave great recommendations for museums and sight seeing. I would definitely recommend doing this free tour.

We had the opportunity to enjoy a joyful walking experience around a vast area of berlin with the guidance of Laura, who was very kind and friendly and told us a lot of information about the places that we were visiting.

Very informative and fun tour around the key sites in the old East Berlin with JR. Insights into buildings I’d passed on previous visits but didn’t know much of. Afterward he recommended the Alternative Berlin tour in the afternoon with Cammy. Visited places I’d never thought of before and got a deeper understanding of Berlin as a result. Importantly, both guys and friendly so I felt comfort as a solo traveller and have superb knowledge of the city for an American and a Scot. I enjoyed a post walk pint with Cammy and his mate then I visited some places they had recommended.

Took 2 walking tours with Walkative, booked through Guruwalk app. 1. Classic Berlin 2. Alternative Berlin Both were really good IMO!! The second was the greatest I had in years with Xavier. Very informative, carring and likable. Highly recommend if you want to understand and learn about Berlin life, culture and history.

We did two tours. The Welcome to Berlin and the Alternative Tour, with Julia and Jason Respectively. Juliana is a Bleeding Berlin Native and is passionate about her city. Respect. As a History major she has a wealth of knowledge packed under sleeve. Was an informative tour albeit a large group. Jason is a CA native and knows the art scene well. It was a very unique perspective of Berlin we would have never seen otherwise. Makes me appreciate street art and Graffiti more than before. Both tours I would recommend. I would also recommend comfortable shoes and layers if it's winter. The tours are long which is good but the breaks could be bit longer, just simply to have adequate time to hit the bathroom and get in line anywhere for bite or a drink.

We had Dara as our tour guide, and he really made everyone feel very welcome. He was very knowledgeable of the city and took us to the key areas. The three hour tour passed quickly and there is a break halfway through to allow people to grab a coffee. This was the perfect start to our Berlin trip.

Dara is a great guide! A lot of attractive information, the tour lasted 2.5 hours! I recommend the Alternative Berlin tour because it is based on the street art of Berlin! Dara is super communicative, respectful and intelligent! I have participated in several tours but this is the most interesting! I wish him all the best in the world and good luck in the future! Best regards, Ruben!!

You HAVE to do this tour with this company in Berlin! Yes, Berlin is an interesting city on its own, however the manner and the attention to detail in which our tour was run was of the highest quality. We had Ru as our tour guide and after a month travelling Europe and participating in many walking tours, this is one of the highlights. Read all the reviews and pick this one. Trust me. It’s a sure way of appreciating Berlin from someone that could be mistaken as, if they aren’t already, a doctorate historian. Ethan, Jayden and Grace.

Attended a fabulous tour of Berlin today with Tina, she was so knowledgeable and funny even in the pouring rain . I would definitely recommend doing this if in Berlin. The honesty payment is a nice touch. You will definitely learn something new

Visited the tour “Alternative Berlin”, Laura is a great guide! It was like a walk with a friend, very informative and interesting. She gave us a lot of recommendations on what to do on our other days! Would recommend for 100%✨✨✨

I am very happy to participate in the freetour led by Naima today:) The whole trip lasted nearly three hours, but Naima arranged the itinerary and explained it very reasonably, and the trip even came to an end before I even realized it. At the same time, Naima paid great attention to the safety of team members and everyone along the way, setting aside time for everyone to ask questions, rest and take photos, etc., which was very thoughtful. Naima is a German American and a history master's student, which gives her enough knowledge to share with everyone, and the history of Berlin is very vivid and interesting from her mouth. Highly recommended.

want to share my disappointment about a recent tour I took with your company. I went on the tour on 07/09 at 11:00 (English tour), but it didn't start until 11:10, so we waited an extra 10 minutes for nothing. This delay wasn't a great start. Our tour guide didn't introduce himself properly and didn't ask the group where we were from or our names. This made it hard to feel connected to him or the other people in our group. The guide also didn't count us even once or checked if anyone got lost during the tour. The biggest problem was that the guide spoke very quietly with a very heavy english accent, so it was tough to hear, especially if you weren't standing close. There were more than 40 people in our group, so this made it even harder to hear. He didn't show us any pictures or things related to the places we visited, which coulded been interesting to see the past and the present, especially in a place like Berlin. We had to stand for the entire two and a half hours of the tour, even though there were places where we could have sat down. There was only one short break, and the guide didn't make sure everyone was there before continuing. Many times, he didn't warn us when we crossed busy roads. He didn't have anything to help us recognize him, like an umbrella or a flag. I attached a picture where you can see how far ahead the guide was during one part of the tour. He didn't look back to check if we were following, even during walks that lasted a long time. He rarely told us about the streets or sights we were passing. Overall, it felt like I was walking with a guide who didn't want to be there. I left the tour feeling disappointed because I couldn't hear much of what the guide said, very sad indeed. I attached pictures to show how far the guide from the group, and he didn't even look once! In all these 2.5 hours to check if we are behind him or try to know us at all.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour with our guide Juliana! She’s a Berlin native and knows so much about the city and being a history graduate she has a wealth of knowledge that makes this tour interesting and engaging. Highly recommended.

Canadian Chris has been a superb tour guide today. He was able to present his facts and stories in a very interesting manner and even confidently answered all our questions. A very enriching tour, I hope you get Canadian Chris the next time you book from their tours. Thanks Chris for today, and congrats to your citizenship! Boohyeah! And yeah, shout out to Chris' mum too! - Chuck from New Zealand!🇳🇿✌️

Naima was amazing! She was detailed in her descriptions. She was attentive to her audience, asking if we had any questions and checking that we were all following closely as we moved along crowded streets.

Our guide was knowledgeable, humorous and engaging on the tour. The alternative tour is a must! Seeing the creative side of Berlin was amazing. The culture, music, and art that we saw along the 3 hr tour was intriguing. It was great to learn more about the history.

Ru was our guide for the “Berlin Under the Swastika” walking tour & wow did we have a terrific experience as a part of his group. He delivered historical accounts with passion & empathy, frequently citing how imperative knowledge of the past is empowerment in the present. Our 3.5 hours on a Saturday afternoon breezed by, thanks for an amazing, informative & moving experience. 🖤

I joined Ruaridh (Ru) for the Welcome to Berlin (English speaking) walking tour, and it was fantastic! He really knows his stuff and had a knack for making history interesting through stories and humour. He did a wonderful job of weaving together both the light and dark sides of Berlin's history, while ensuring that we always remembered to consider the humans involved rather than reducing events down to numbers and statistics. Highly recommend!

Just had a wonderful tour of Berlin with English Will today. He has a wealth of historical knowledge about Berlin and shared many additional interesting facts about the landmarks. A great guy to chat with and he gives many recommendations of things to see and do around Berlin. Overall, I enjoyed it and recommend the tour.

We did the "From Marx to the Wall: Communist & Socialist Free Tour" with Mary. We loved it. Learned a lot about history within the context of Berlin. Good length, good content, great guide.

I had a great time on the Welcome to Berlin tour with Jules, and the Socialist and Communism tour with Will. Their presentation of the historical narrative that went as far back as the 1800s, compacted into three hours, is no mean feat. I especially liked Jules’ sharing of her personal ideas and Will’s effort in bringing extra images for us to bring the narrative to life and his thoughtful Google Maps recommendations. Those are three (double that for two tours!) hours well spent and they certainly added meaning to my experience of Berlin city.

English Will was a fantastic tour guide. One of the best I’ve ever had - great knowledge and brought along laminated pictures to further assist and bring to life his explanations of things. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Always enjoy having a tour guide that is enthusiastic like will! Makes such a difference. Would highly recommend. Loved his jokes. Thank you for making our Berlin trip that bit better!

The best tour I've ever had! Will was incredible, so funny and carismatic, yet so professional, our 3.5h tour with him passed incredible fast, I could've stayed hours listening and walking with him in Berlin. Recommend to everyone!

I enjoyed walking tour around Berlin with JR. It was very informative, full of interesting facts and the most important places. During the tour, he was pointing us to the free museum or other places to explore after the tour. Thank you, I recommend this tour.

We did the Berlin alternative tour with Eduardo and it was amazing. His knowledge of graffiti culture, German social and architectural history, as well as his own point of view given his personal history in the city were really a great blend of interesting and engaging. 100% recommend.
