Historic place. Literally connects two states, Imo and Rivers, and you can get across for about N500 or less than N1000. There's great varieties of fish and aquatic life to see, feel and taste. It's usually lively about the ember months and most families turn their homes to chic minibars and restaurants. When you get there, be sure to ask for palm wine. You'll love it.

This lake should be managed by govt or private individuals effectively and efficiently. Do you know here is a dumping ground for ritualist. I was astonished the level of taboo committed in that lake.

The confluence of the blue water and the muddy Urashi river is where two separate colors of water "meet" but never combine. The sight of this amazing natural marvel is just breathtaking. Oguta Lake is Nigeria's largest natural lake, located in the state of Imo in the southeast. A vast forest of oil palm plantations surrounds the area.

Oguta lake, also known as a mysterious lake is located in Oguta-Ameshi town(where my former boss CHARLY BOY is from) of IMo state. According to folklore, the two angry river flows without meeting as a result of the fight a husband and wife had; the husband represented as the murky-brownish water and the green-looking one , the wife. This town has a lot of history: from serving as a tourist destination to all and sundry, it also has a high-yield oil and gas fields which suggests that - it is of high economic importance to the country and a host to a lot of oil-producing companies. I must also add as I took notice of nearly all the women in that town to be of great height. Something I quizzed to know if there was a factor the world should know about - lol. I dare not forget how bubbly and enjoyment-lovers these people are for the weeks we spent there at Christmas. If you want an experience, visit Oguta. Let me know if what I highlighted is true. Ps: Accommodation is usually hard to find getting close to Christmas. My advice would be to book way ahead of time as all of the hotels get fully booked.

Fascinating experience. The ferry can accommodate about 6 to 10 vehicles, or 200 to 300 people. I particularly didn't pay for the services, but it's costs about 200 Naira, per person. There are a few snacks outlet for quick fill up

Oguta Lake is a lean 'finger lake' formed by the damming of the lower Njaba river  with alluvium. It is the largest natural lake in Imo State. Here is a cool place to go for vacation in Biafra land.

Oguta lake is beautiful. You should see it if you go to Imo state. I recommend taking a boat to see the confluence where the lake meets the river... The chemistry there needs to be explained

Excellent cuisine, especially the barbecued fish caught fresh from Oguta lake. Continental and Nigerian traditional dishes that were just delightful. There's a natural beach on the lake that has been enhanced by smart environmental architectural design. A 9- hole golf course that will surprisingly challenge the avid golfer. The pastries are just fresh and delicious; the secret is an on-site in-house bakery. The place is a must try location for lovers of comfort and the true Hedonist.

I am biased because its my hometown however Oguta Lake is serene beautiful and an amazing place to unwind. Rent a boat and discover the magic behind the blue lake and the brown river urashi. They are connected but do not mix. Play some golf at Crystal Lake Resorts. Have a picnic.

Njaba River is very cool when swimming and bathing

  • 4/5 Urama Gilbert c. 5 years ago on Google
Njaba river is one of the rivers in oguta which hás being a source of Sharp sand. From a distance it appears greenish in color. Sometime some persons think its not deep but the sourcing of Sharp sand makes it more deeper. It overflows during period to up to 150ft length and height of about 2 meters above its normal sea level, making it a dangerous site to visit.

It was a very beautiful experience. We were not allowed to take our food and drinks though but we didn't mind. We loved the scenery. The garden is perfect for picnics and pictures. They have different levels for boat cruise: 15k,60k,10k. Good spots to take pictures and gate fee is very affordable. I truly enjoyed my stay

Oguta Lake is a place to rejuvenate and fall in love with nature. The lake connects owerri with rivers state. One end has egbema ndoni and another owerri. Birds watching is another spot that can be done here because the cool lake brings in exotic birds who come to feast

Such a large body of water can be called a wonder of nature. A chance to visit the popular Oguta lake in imo state! The wonder of the oguta water (green) never blends with the brown water, never!!! Even when the boats pass between them, it never mixes as it just goes in and out like oil and water... nature keeps dishing out surprises and we'll never get tired of seeing them... A memorable trip for sure.
