I like shades bar. Has the feel and energy you want in a nightclub and class of a proper lounge. The outdoor area is for the IJGBs and plenty expatriates. Very nice place to network and close deals.

Customer service is really good, prices are reasonable, very accessible location. Good chill on Sundays.

Very lovely atmosphere, lots of friendly people. What was common was the shared goal to have fun and live life. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a nice night in one of the safest parts of lagos

This is my most visited place in Lagos, so far and I never get tired of it. There drinks are fairly priced, food is tasty, staff is courteous and lighting is lit. DJ tries his best to please the plethora of crowd trying to play their own interests. The owner is doing a great job keeping it put. Space can be a problem, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, so try and reach by 10pm max. They continue till wee hours. Live bands are on Thursday and Sunday.

For staters, please try the Shawarma close to the door, although the awkward thing is you have to firstly go in, pay and come back out, especially when you’ve had a couple of drinks from the bar. Great ambience, good vibes, three floors of wonderful music just how you want it, snooker table and a wide array of beers and spirits. It’s particularly good on Friday nights where you can network freely. Come along let’s have some fun.

Why didn't I visit sooner?! The food and service was excellent. No pictures as I could hardly wait to dig in. I had the juiciest chicken of my life, lovingly wrapped in bacon and stuffed with minced meat. The sauce was equally as decadent, the mashed potatoes were made to perfection. I couldn't resist a few bites of the moistest fish my date was having so I'm definitely coming back for the Fish. Portions are just right with real value for money so visit hungry! My compliments to the Chef! He or she is a keeper!

Quite a peaceful beach front cool bar with ambiance and cool breeze. Fun place.

Nice looking place, i liked the look of the bar, there's an area to play pool as well. The food was absolutely delicious, the steak was made exactly as requested and the mashed potatoes and gravy were perfect, the vegetables were also cooked to perfection, not to death, but there seemed to be some communication difficulties within the staff as the waiter who brought our food from the kitchen almost took it back when he couldn't find the waitress who had ordered it. I had a stout from their draft beer selection and it was delightful, strong but not an over powering taste. Tried a bit of my friend's larger and it had noticeable fruity notes and was just wonderful. The music here is loud so if you're looking for a place with low music to chat i guess they have areas in the same compound that aren't loud so it could still work. One star removed cos the manager was friendly to my friend, but not to me. The hospitality could use a bit of work. Bathrooms were clean, that was delightful as well

This is my best 5 Star rated lounge for the year. This place is great! The atmosphere is chill and cool, with excellent and very friendly staff. They are professionals at what they do, and you can see that making clients happy is their first priority. I had their pizza and Nigerian dishes, and it was well worth the money.

Great location in vi, good food, cold drinks, good company, polite and competent staff..... What more can I say..... Shades is a great place!

Be careful of your bill in a week been charge twice for same drinks, pay an items on tuesday took same on wednesday price increased of 30% then last i was requested to pay a pending bill which i could not pay previously due to their pos not connecting. I went to pay back next day then 2 days after an arrogant barman asking me to pay when i told him i paid he insisted on the rudest way not even wanted to listen or double check the fact all this in load voice in front of my friends. Not to mention some delay in service at time u have to try your best to get your drink from the bar as no one ll come to you to serve. When i said my story about billing i was surprise that people around commented to have faced same issue. So be aware at shad of over charges. I noticed that like me people are moving back to longbar. Bit old fashion billing but at least honest.

Shades has been around a while, even though it seems to be enjoying quite the renaissance at the moment. Pub night, a live band, and a an endless stream of revelers of a certain persuasion, ensure that Shades is now top of mind for a simple fun night out.

Shades is a Hidden Gem on Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria! There is a very diverse customer base and beautiful women in abundance after 10pm. The food is delicious however, the food very salty so be warned that this is a drinking establishment as well. Salty food means thirsty people. I mean that literally and figuratively.

I love the Monday quiz nights! Intellectually stimulating!!! I loved the bbq bad boy melt. It literally melts in your mouth with a burst of creamy savory flavors 👅🤤🤤🤤 And the popcorn prawns 🍤??? My goodness! The tartar and chili dip that comes with it? Heaven in my mouth, on my tongue 👅 , on earth 🌍 , in Lagos!!! The ambience too… I have no more words. You go see for yourself!😉 . . . In as much as they need to renovate the place, it gives off dirty vibe. I was wondering why they had many bar tenders but no one cleaning the bathroom. For the time i was there, the restroom was unkempt, bins over flowing with tissue, had a foul smell from dirty ladies not cleaning after them selves I guess. The asun was really nice but felt like i was begging them for meat. Twas really small and had waste parts mixed in it. I guess they do that to save cost. I had a good time, beer was cold, the live band were a little entertaining too. So yeah.... do better!

The food is just lovely….the environment is nice and even the service is great. You won’t regret visiting this place!!!

Looking for a night club in VI shades is one of the places to be. Affordable. But they should improve on their hygiene and environmental sanitation

It is ok not to big

An excellent place to chill This is a gem of a place to visit. The real Bature Ale, brewed locally with hops from Kent is superb, the fish & chips is better than you would find in England as is all the food, multiple sports screens allowing any sport to be watched, ample parking outside, great atmosphere inside. It’s like British Pubs used to be, which is no surprise as it’s run by Andy from Lancashire who is a professional publican. Go for a quiet drink or mix with the eclectic regulars, no where in Lagos beats it. The Monday night Quiz starts at 7pm where you can join a team or bring your friends along. The Quizmaster says he is funny and I like his banter with teams. The waitresses are pretty, attentive, polite and brighten any rainy night! Shades is recommended any day or evening. Go visit!!

This is a decent pub style lounge. Had a lot of white folks present and is quite upscale. Prices were decent, VI standard and in all I had a great time there by myself. Only little downside is a lot of girls troop in here from about 10pm.

This beautiful place is well-run and well-managed. Services are prompt, ambience is beautiful and the variety on the menu is rather impressive. Shades makes you want to always come back

They opened a new fully renovated sports bar area at the back. It’s really worthwhile to visit Shades. Plenty TV’s available for all types of sports! The bar and the new furniture are great!

If want a place with nice music and a lounge to chill and dance during the weekends. Just be goofy with friends. Then shades is the place to be. Right in the heart of Lagos, opposite the Canadian embassy.

I visit regularly on Mondays for the quizz night. Upstairs it is more cost and a more established crowd of participants. The food is always excellent. Steak, fish and pizzas are always good. Drinks are reasonably priced. Downstairs over weekends is a very different story and the later the bigger the number of detractors

Ambience was awesome. A slight modification of the chairs should be considered, there are no back rests and considering it's a hangout, after some drinks the tendency to fall backwards is high. Overall, the food and drinks are great 👍

Shades is in Lagos and Foreigner Friendly, Very Safe and Drinks and Atmosphere are great to soak in Lagos.

I will recommend this place if u need a place to catch some fun after work or you feel like hanging. The food is very good and affordable as well as drinks. And if you want to club here, they have a good DJ and an electrifying atmosphere. Also, drinks are very affordable here for a place like this in VI. The service is very good as well.

The worst service I've ever experienced in my life. Ironically the food was great, an excellent pot pie, but boy were the hostesses rude and inefficient. Never going back

With Shades, it's a love me or leave me experience. If you want honest but really great food, brilliant music, deep choice of well priced drinks, a great ambience and well organized staff, this is is the place to be. On a scale of 10, it's a 9 in terms of value for money.. Not for the nouveau riche and the wannabes. But there's plenty of places for them, and just one pair of Shades in Casablanca.

Shades was my go to place for lunch at some point, not only was their menu affordable, but the environment was good. The meals were made on order which meant that it took longer time for it to be served. Their pasta and Salads are to die for.

I recently dined at shades social restaurant and it was amazing. The restaurant had a cozy and elegant atmosphere that made me feel comfortable. The food was incredible, with a wide variety of dishes that tasted delicious. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. They helped me choose the best food and drinks. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would like to go there again
