Alewife. I started out excited to visit the women owned operation in the Five Points area. Selling beer for you to take home…! (See $2.00 corkage fee to enjoy your beverage here!!!) I ask a few questions about mead and ordered a 4oz. pour, from a younger bartender who seemed to be having a rough day. After quickly returning with my beverage in hand, she asked for my ID, I happily obliged… she flipped it over and quickly decided that it was rendered ‘invalid,’ because I have a sticker on the back(photo attached, please have a laugh, also I recently went thru TSA.) She walked away, seemingly frustrated. 😕 I just had to laugh! Not at her or anything, just the entire situation. 2 customers in the entire establishment, I would’ve made #2 at the bar. Do bartenders still work for tips? Or even my business? I likely could have found a manger and stayed. I couldn’t, I just hopped up and left! I might come back… 😬 Stay blessed.

Alewife creates a welcoming and cozy environment for people to explore, discover, and enjoy all that craft beer has to offer. I really enjoyed my visit here since it is a combination of craft beer bottle shop and tasting room. Whatever is not on tap, you can purchase from their shelves and drink it there with a small $2 "corking" fee. If you grab a beer from their shelves, they have a rapid chiller available that can chill your beer in approx. 7 minutes for you to enjoy right then and there.

AMAZING! The bartender was super nice and helpful, the beer selection was vast, and the atmosphere in general was laid back. They have several options on tap for beer, cider, and mead, and you can also drink an individual can there if you want but there is a 2$ corkage fee. They seriously have a great selection of beers and drinks to choose from as well as games to play and snacks while you imbibe.

I was introduced to Alewife because of book club. I really enjoy the atmosphere, I haven't played any yet but I really like that they have the board games and stuff to play while you're sitting there enjoying your evening. The staff are kind and helpful, it does get a little busy but they get through the little bit of line fairly quickly. I like that the beers rotate too, it makes me try different things every time.

Love this place! Great of offerings of beer, cider and mead. Our bartender Sidre was knowledgeable and very patient with our questions and indecision. It's got a good vibe and very comfortable.

A NEW FAVORITE. Unique experience for all beer drinkers and a craft beer enthusiast's paradise. Small business and family/locally owned. In a great up and coming area for dining and an evening out on the town. An excellent addition to the Jacksonville area and a MUST to visit as a beer lover. Staff is well trained and very knowledgeable on more info than you knew existed in the brewing of beer. Stop in for a cold one one at the bar, to stock up, or to gain an education.

Kelly was great! Very sweet and personable and took care of our bachelorette party with ease. The taproom itself was very vibrant and had great options for drinks, games and little souvenirs!

Such a fun time and great selection. Had a great time talking with the owner about the beer industry, beer marketing and packing, and everything beer market. She also has a great selection of beers to choose from. Highly recommend stopping by.

Came in and we were served immediately. Leslie was engaging and made us feel welcome. Amazing range of beer on tap and her recommendations were on point. Don't miss this tiny shop across from 5Points Sun-Ray Cinema.

This is a great place to go hang out in Riverside, especially before or after a movie at Sun-Ray Cinema right across the street. It's very relaxed and welcoming to people from all walks of life. Great selection of beer and board games.
