Wow I'm quite amazed with the quality of food n the prices, Thanying is definitely better than several Michelin starred Thai restaurants i have been to. The flavours are very authentic, the portions are quite substantial and every dish is very delicious. Kudos. What more the restaurant is located in a beautifully retrofitted colonial bunglow, the deco is very beautiful too. For the 10 dishes including desserts, we only paid little more than 2,200 baht.

3.5 stars for me. Food was good overall but definitely on the sweet side across all the dishes I had. Spice levels also v mild but could be the style of food. I have to say fish was fried to perfection tho. 1300 baht for 2, so it's pricey.

This is not the memory I used to have before the pandemic. The decent atmosphere and delicate cuisines have been gone. The menu is so ugly and the whole place is not quiet anymore. As for the dishes, they were pricy and tasted like those of the restaurants for tourists. I used to recommend this place to my friends and family and I would visit it every time I come to Bangkok. After this time, I will eliminate it from my list.

Came here as the dishes were meant for royals. Beautiful dining place and great service provided. Some dishes tasted great while some were rather disappointing. Love the deep fried corn and fried fish with crispy garlic. The Chinese kale leaves were too thick for meang kam and didn't taste as great as bai cha plu/wild pepper leaves. The red curry with roasted duck was too sweet. Rest tasted average. River prawns were not that fresh as the meat wasn't succulent. The coconut ice cream tasted more like vanilla instead but the jello with rambutan was good. Maybe we didn't order the right dishes. Hopefully can try during our next visit

A great place to visit. I visited this place at 8:30 pm without knowing that it closes at 9:00 pm. But they greeted us without showing any sign of hesitance (very professional). Dishes were really nice, though pricey, and the ambience of the place was awesome. There were a lot of mosquitos but I’m not sure if that’s because we visited when there was no other guests or they had a beautiful garden. Very satisfied overall!

A gorgeous authentic Thai restaurant. The restaurant has a beautiful vibe and the ambiance itself describes the authentic Thai culture and cuisine. Every dish I ordered was made to perfection. It is well known for its authentic taste and presentation. The crowd that comes here is also of good taste and class. It’s in its way a sophisticated restaurant. I might be a little exaggerating but believe me this restaurant is worth a visit. The images I am attaching of the menu are worth a try. I would give this restaurant 10/10

This restaurant is owned by the late Queen’s family. The is a lovely guy who had time to speak with us about various facilitating topics after a truly amazing meal. The sweet beef massaman curry was exceptionally delightful.

this place is beautiful and the service is good and fast. there is parking and a garden to sit and wait for a table.. the only problem for me was the food.. shrimp not fully cooked and pad thai full of sauce that maid it slimy a bit.. the tom yum was OK but small dish. ask for it to come with small shrimps as the big one not really makes it better and more complicated to eat. all in all it is a place that I need to give it another try and maybe other dishes will be better. oh and the prices online are much different when you get to the restaurant.. probably changed the menu and needs to update the website

Good Thai food selection for tourists. Taste is on the sweet side but came here for KhaoChae - special menu during summer time and it delivered. A bit overpriced for a regular meal as a local but portions were fairly big as well.

Great food great service as usual. This is real royal cuisine open for public. Taste is authentic full and complex flavours. If you never taste real royal Thai cuisine, please come to this restaurant first. Staff's maner are very polite as used to work with royal before.

The river prawns had a strange taste to them and didn't seem fresh. The restaurant looks homely and nice on the inside and was quiet so is good if you want to have some conversation, or just want a break from the bustle. Service was also good. Pity about the prawns, as the rest of the dishes we had (pad see ew, fried corn appetiser, tom yum soup) were rather decent. I would have given a better rating if not for the prawns, and the fact that we expected royal cuisine but it the menu turned out to be the same "beginner" Thai food for foreigners. 😅

For our last night in Thailand we hit the jackpot. This was hands down our best meal on this trip. The restaurant is charming and quaint with a history. It was named in honour of Her Serene Highness Princess Sulabh-Valleng Visuddhi who was once the head cook in the Sumhothai Palace for her sister. We tried three dishes and all three were outstanding. Tofu with basil and chili - packed with flavor. Roasted duck red curry - they used pineapple instead of lychee. It had a nice hint of sweetness to it. The duck was cooked perfectly. Massaman curry with chicken - well balanced and flavorful.

It is the perfect restaurant for salt lovers. Order green curry, roast pork, mando sticky rice and papaya salad. At the first bite there is no problem but at the second spoonful the battle between you and the salt begins. Who will win? The flowers in the lounge are artificial, the restaurant is very old and so is the menu and the cutlery and everything. Everything is old. You can tell that its good times were over 20 years ago and that's how it stayed. They never renovated it again. Any street food stall tastes better than this. When I went to the bathroom I could see how old it was and the kitchen was quite dirty and messy. It is a place not to go back to. It causes depression and anxiety because you just want to run out of there.

Feels like a step back in time at this traditional Thai royal cuisine restaurant. We went there for Kao Chae and weren't disappointed.

The atmosphere and those dishes were so wonderful. Also the ingredients were so fresh such as som tam and green curry . Staffs were having good hospitality with kindness. We were happy to be there for an hour. I recommend to visit here!!

Went there twice in a day What more can describe how good this place is. My personal favorite was crab curry. The real good thing about this place is that you can pick any food from menu and can be satisfied. The price is generally above street food but it far less than thai restaurants in hotel.

Short walk from BTS Surasak station in a traditional Thai house serving royal Thai cuisine. Thanying offered tradition royal Thai cuisine in combination with other famous Thai dishes. Great place for a special dinner. The setting in an old villa is beautiful; it feels like dining in a Royal home or museum, full of antiques and art. The menu is not to long and although dubbed "Royal cuisine" covers all the traditional Thai classics. Prices are very reasonable given the service and the setting. We ordered the Pork satay and the pork meat is juicy and succulent. Followed by the papaya salad. The salad was my favourite as the spiciness and the sourness are just right. The spicy minced pork was a bit of disappointment as I found it too mild and blend. Service was good, without being over bearing. All in all a lovely dinner and warmly recommended

This is what traditional royal Thai dishes meant. The restuarant give off fine dining experience. Not too crowded. Good services. The dishes was delicious. (ข้าวแช่, เมี่ยงคะน้ากลีบบัว) And if you're lucky enough, you might meet the owner of this place, P'Jack. He can told you a story of each dish, this place, tradition and many more. Will definitely come back. And would be better if you reserve a seat in advance.
