Amazing Thai food, fresh and tasty and everything the reviews said it would be. We ordered the famous fried egg salad, was so delicious we ordered a second portion. The fried fish with crispy garlic was amazing, even for a person like me who doesn't usually eat fish for fear of bones. The eggplant with holy basil was another outstanding dish that we had to get s second order of. Overall, not a cheap place to eat but definitely worth of the price and trip to find it being so out if the way.

Simple Thai stir fries taken to a entirely new level. My third time eating at this restaurant but the first time im here after they have relocated to their new premises with air conditioning. The quaint view of the railway tracks replaced sadly by...a roadside. Other than that, food was exceptional. Truely a trip worth coming for.

Ok my western friends, a must go to.Prices are great, and food is crazy amazing Thai food. For people like me watch the spice. Parking can be hard to find, so taxi over. Train ride is ok, but you have to walk in. Ok, there may be a wait cause they take time to cook the food right. Also, it's that good, so its busy with locals. Service is great and they keep drinks and food coming.

I must admit this restaurant was beyond my expectation. Every menu was very simple Thai-dish, but very unique way of seasoning. When i say unique, its not like hotel-made dish for forigner or western. too sweet, no heat from chilli, (made for western people) This is quite hot (not too much), with fragrance of Thai-herb, and not too "westen-fusion" style. Crispy pork skin was crispy fried, with perfect amount of salt-pepper, chilli. And the taste was concentrate, not oily at all ! Beware that each dish was quite small and could be very expensive. (regardless to how small they are) Some dish was reasonable price, so make sure you check them properly before order !

Authentic Local Thai Restaurant with both inside air conditioned seating & outdoor open air seating. Some very hard to find local eats. The fried mackerel heads are a must-have and must be ordered and booked in advance. The other favourite was the liver dish which we ordered seconds, as it was just so perfectly done.

I am truly glad I came here despite of itz long walking distance in the middle of August as it was truly amazing experience I had in Bangkok. I loved their food completely. I wish I came here with more people as I could have tried for more dishes. Amazing. Come here.

Ignore the nay sayers on here. Each dish is delectable. If you want street food prices, go to a street hawker. And, the owner still watches over the kitchen to ensure the amazing quality. The best Thai food I have experienced so far. Favourite dish: fried egg salad. The gooey egg surrounded by the fried egg whites, slices of red onion, chilies and garlic. Wow. We ordered another plate after the first. And I mixed this with the fried pork and chillies. Debauchery for the taste buds. The shrimp ceviche was a zesty, fiery mix of lemon, lime, wasabi and chilli. The wasabi blasted up my nose. The perfect way to start the meal. I was a bit scared that I wouldn’t be able to eat anything else if it was this spicy, but everything else was perfectly balanced and delicious. The shrimp salad was fresh, pulling out the meat from the shell and making sure it was covered in filling and the leaves. I think the mackerel heads have been over hyped - we were in a panic to get these pre-ordered this morning. Couldn’t taste the garlic or the fish. And along with the soft shell crab (and this was the most expensive), these are the two dishes we wouldn’t have again. I was dubious about the ow-tung, a sweet iced drink made up of shaved ice, palm sugar and basil seeds. It was a pleasant surprise, refreshing and enough to share between two but I could of had my own by the end as I didn’t want to share, it was that good. We will definitely go back if we have time.

The food here was amazing! Fresh and quality ingredients. But the atmosphere in the restaurant was tooo loaded! Because of the ice shave machine.

We came here as after we couldn't find good food at overrated chatuchak market, it was a good decision. The wasabi oysters are worth the trip to this restaurant alone, refreshing zingy. They were a real treat. The mackerel heads make an interesting snack, but eat it with care, or you'll stab your gums. Great authentic Thai food that you won't easily find elsewhere!

We visited around 1pm and had our pick of many indoor and outdoor seats. There was only a short wait for the food, of which we particularly liked the fried rice with crab meat (excellently fried with good wok hei and fluffy rice), pork neck (so tender, so flavourful, so good) and the fried chayote leaves. Generally speaking the food were all tasty and different from the masses. Service was excellent and friendly Cash only for now, with credit card payment option planned from January 2023 onwards

A very popular spot for value-for-money quality food. Most of the ingredients seems pretty fresh. Dishes of note: pork liver, squid, pork jowl, fried mackerel cheeks, kangkong, fried "one-eye" fish The pork liver was tender and rich without the bad gamey odor. No strong flavoring was used and probably just stir fried. It was arguably one of the best prepared liver I have eaten in this form. Squid was very fresh and had the right balance of chewiness without being too rubbery. Fried mackerel cheeks tasted like savory chips. Kangkong was skilfully julienned and it really crunchy. Staff were pretty attentive and helped to top up drinks and ice from time to time. Food took a while to be served, provably due to the high volume. It's a comfortable air-conditiined place great for group gatherings. You can also bring your own drinks. I highly recommend this place. You would need to reserve a table far in advance due to the high demand.

Solid food on the generally sour side. The mackerel Tom yum and the fried mackerel cheeks were outstanding. Perhaps the only dish that wasn’t so worth were the big prawns at 500THB for 4 average sized prawns. Menu is attached for reference

Honestly, was so hyped for this place as every blog and video on the internet recommended it, but it was super overrated. Not worth the trip, please dont make the effort to come. Food was not bad but tiny portions and nothing special to cry home about. We had the mackerel cheeks, green curry, oyster with wasabi, omelette with basil, a vegetable dish and crab meat with salt. The only good dish was the crab meat with salt. The mackerel cheeks were ok but honestly nothing special.

Hot and Spicy Thai foods. Thai style restaurant worth to try. But you need to spare your time for waiting the dishes especially during peak time. This shop not suitable for quick meal. I always enjoy my meal here. Recommended

I would give it 10 stars if I could! The food is spicy and the flavors blew us away. We started out with the classics, clear mackerel tomyum soup and fried mackerel head. The soup was worth crying over (literally due to the spice) and mackerel head like a delicious chip. We also tried the shrimp (cooked to perfection), crackling pork skin with basil (melted in your mouth), and about 6 other dishes (the two of us couldn’t stop ordering!).

Excellent dinner, really loved the soft shell crab curry and the wasabi lime prawns. Food takes a little while to come so don't go ready to eat then and there, take time to relax with cold bee

Superb dinner at Soei! Every single dish was so good loved the fried crab meat with roe, clams and mackerel head especially. Some of the dishes can be rather spicy such as the morning glory so if you cannot tolerate spice you might want to let them know when ordering. Pre order the mackerel heads as they are limited. The boss was very hospitable and made us feel welcomed. Must visit if you are in Bkk!!!!!

The food is always amazing. Today the service was okay. Not great and not bad. Prices are reasonable. The kaprow moo sap is good but ordinary. If you go then order unusual dishes and you'll be happy.

One of the best Thai food that only locals know about. Near everyone in this place is Thai, and I was brought here by my Thai colleague as well. Every dish here was perfectly executed, from the omelette, to the Tom Yum soup. This place is not for the faint of heart - the heat level is as hot as Thailand will get you. My absolute favorites were the stir fried liver and deep fried mackerel heads. I got in trouble by doing a combo of the Tom Yum Soup and a wrap with the bird’s eye chilli - had me down fluids until someone ordered a sweet dessert to quell the fire. Overall, every order was good, and the 3 of us ended up spending 2500 baht for a very very sumptuous meal.

Nice taste, fresh material. Local style. Pricy a bit, fry fish is 500 THB, it could be 200-300 with that fish size. 6 months later I been again and price is more reasonable. Foods are great too.

Perhaps our expectations were high, but the overall experience didn’t hit the spot based on what we ordered, although there are some hints of goodness. By now, everyone would’ve ordered the fried mackerel heads, we found that it’s an OK snack, but just not so match the hype. The oyster with wasabi is not great either The kah moo pad kra pow (fried pork slice) + fried egg are 2 Ok combos. If you’re ordering the mackerel soup, know that it’s spicy.

😐 Prices are standard, but the taste is merely average. This leaning towards a more tourist-friendly palette. For locals, the food falls into the "so-so" category—neither exceptional nor subpar. The service is commendable. Securing parking can be a tad challenging.
