We had the most incredible tour, tasting, and lunch at Avondale. Truly the best vineyard tour I’ve had - Kate was absolutely incredible and the tractor tour of the property was so well executed. The restaurant was outstanding - an incredible menu based mostly off meat & veg from the farm itself. Absolutely must do if in the area. (Thank you Kate we love you!!)

Had a spectacular wine tasting here. All organic wines, tasting in Spiegelau glasses, beautiful explanation of wines. All the wines were excellent, showing great skill in wine making. Many of the wines already mature and drinking beautiful now. Although the wines are slightly pricey, I think this represents some of the best wines in South Africa. For the experienced palate though.

Such a hidden gem... When you pull up, the building and garden makes you feel like walking up to a french-style wine cottage with spectacular views of the vineyards and the surrounding mountains and farms. Upon entering I was delightfully surprised and amazed and felt like walking into a mansion. Lovely wooden floors with this amazing old piano in the entrance. Looking down to the distillery you can smell the wine production. The restaurant looks amazing and there is also a small deli with freshly baked bread and other deli products. The staff stood waiting for us, ready to help with whatever we asked or needed. They were friendly and you can tell by their demeanor that they know exactly what they are doing and are clued up about different wines and products the farm produces... LOVE this place!!

Their organic approach to farming and their passion for what they do reflects the respect they have for nature and it truly shines through in their wines as well as their staff. On our arrival one of the staff members was already waiting for us with a delicious glass of their MCC in hand. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside and do a tasting with the picturesque Hottentots Holland mountain range in the background. The tasting consisted of the MCC we started with, whites, reds and a Blanc de noir. Some of their wines are also stored in clay Qvevri pots which is something out of the ordinary and very interesting. Next to the tasting gallery they also have a restaurant, however we only visited for a wine tasting. Their wines are on the pricier side, but worth it if you enjoy wine. Must visit for wine lovers.

If you are passing by in Paarl, then I would definitely recommend to stop at the Avondale wine estate. The wine tasting is a great experience to learn about the South African wine

When food and a wine reaches the same equilibrium, Avondale Wine have opted for organic farming techniques and steam-sterilisation. Most of the seasonal vegetables on the menu comes from their garden. Highlight, was the pumpkin fritters and 12 hour slow cooked roasted. An amazing food and wine experience

What a discovery, I love this wine farm... Beautiful flower garden, attention to detail... Drink on arrival... And the wines are amazing. I usually prefer red wines but these white wines are something unique. Worth a visit.

Very interesting organic wine farm, friendly and welcoming staff. The food looked delicious, though we were to early to have lunch.
