Great food at a location run by passionate people. I had the best fish and chips in as long as I can remember. Chips were cooked to perfection (blanched for crispiness), and the snapper was still moist/flaky with a lovely lager batter. Their take on a spicy, vinegary, coleslaw was wonderful for a dish as heavy and rich as battered fish and fried potatoes. Lastly, the unique orange zested tartar sauce was a great change from the traditionally sweet and pickly. A definitely desirable destination at the end of a scenic drive.

It’s well off the beaten path but worth the drive. Beautiful location right on a floating village. Fresh food and great cider. The carrot cake is great too. Quite the gem.

What an amazing find the cafe overlooks a whole community of floating homes, a mariner and store. Our waitress Diane was very knowledgeable of the area and explained how the views change with the tides. The food was delightful totally different to what we expected. A first class chef for sure. Make sure you drop by you won’t be disappointed.

The absolute BEST BURGER I’ve ever had. The truffle fries are RIDICULOUS. Worth the gorgeous drive and your host is absolutely delightful. So glad we found this place!

Ate here for our family thanksgiving dinner this weekend. The staff were attentive and cautious with my allergies as well as offered vegan and celiac safe meals. Service was prompt and professional. Delicious food and lovely setting by the ocean! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a high quality meal and excellent service.

Great little place to eat, was a little surprised there wasn't more seafood options, but otherwise it was pretty good. Great views and atmosphere,.

If I could give this place 3.5 stars that would be my true rating. What I liked: the glass of Bacchus, Alderlea white wine and the view. Our server was very nice but a tad forgetful. She forgot the side of mayo and forgot to bring us our drinks so we had to ask for everything again. We ordered the calamari because they were out of muscles. To not get customers hopes up, I'd recommend either telling your customers what you're out of before they start exploring the menu or cross it off the menu. The calamari is nice meaty cuts but it's heavily battered with a bland whitish batter. Also, the way the calamari was presented was odd to me. The large spoon which contained the calamari was resting in the dipping sauce. That seems like a waste of sauce and took away from how much is available for dipping. The fish and chips was ok, but the fish might have been a bit overly deep-fried. Perhaps snapper is not the best fish for fish and chips because it's so thin. I can't recommend either of the food items we ordered. Would I go back? Yes because I hear thier chowder is delicious and that location is truly special.

Great little hidden gem! We had an amazing server and all the staff were great. The burger was perfect for a Sunday drive lunch. I had the carrot cake for dessert and enjoyed a walk around the docks after. It's pretty cold inside in the winter so wear layers.

Amazing fish and chips with the best view. Also tried their special Calamari, which was great as well. Friendly staff and the marina vibe and views adds to the experience. It took a while to locate this place, but it was very well worth it.

Only stayed on the patio for a glass of wine in between their busy lunch and dinner services. I was traveling solo, as a woman (if you know you know), and my server Diana just made me feel at home. I was there between 4 and 5pm, which is when the kitchen is closed, so it is slower and you get to enjoy the patio peacefully. I was able to take in the view, have a lovely chat with Diana, and I truly enjoyed it. I couldn’t recommend it enough !

A gourmet food rest. set in a cafe setting. View is wonderful and the staff informative and fun without being in your face. Reserve early to get a spot in busy times. We reserved the day before and it was booked 6pm onward! The calamari is great and food presentation is fine dining not cafe. The place is decorated well but it is a cafe. Great spot.

I was hesitant to provide a review because I don't one of my favourite places to become overrun. However, that being said, this dining spot is amazing! A little gem nestled in one of the prettiest bays in the Cowichan/Duncan area. The food and service are exceptional. While there is not a myriad of dishes to choose from, the current menu items are prepared and presented to perfection! We have had various staff members look after us and each person provides professional service mixed with the right amount of conversation along with an abundance of smiles and good humour! Genoa Bay Cafe is second to none!

Everything good I've ever read about this place and more. Lovely, friendly staff. Food is excellent. And yes, the carrot cake is the best in existence... west coast of North America at least.

Had a fantastic dish here in one of the Top Ten Hidden Gems of Vancouver Island BC. The meat was falling-off-the-fork tenderness perfection. The location is blissfully peaceful with full view of the marina. Service was top notch. Can't recommend this place enough!

Spectacular food. Charming and attentive service. Cozy indoor ambiance for winter dining. The food was tasty and fresh. The flatbread was topped with an odyssey of flavours and the crème brûlée was so good - I had to refrain from licking the bowl. My co-diner had the burger and finished with carrot cake and now I’m compelled to go back and try more menu items. The winding, scenic ride is totally worth it to find this gem.

Great view and great food! The calamari was to die for—incredibly fresh and well prepared. The crispy salmon was also fantastic. Would definitely return :)

The journey to this cafe is very calming and picturesque. Marinas along the way. Water views. The road is narrow and windy, and many people are biking this route. When you arrive, the restaurant sits along the water front with a marina view. I recommend the patio if the weather permits. We started with drinks and coconut prawns. We shared the snapper burger and fries with a cup of chowder. Assume of the best seafood chowder I've had. It was amazing! For dessert, I highly recommend the carrot cake. Moist, flakey, creamy frosting with maple whip cream. The staff was attentive, and the restaurant was clean. A must go!

Great view of the picturesque mountains and water. Servers are friendly and food was delicious. I had the feature fish which was so good that despite being full, I couldn’t stop eating. My husband had the short rib which was also delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

A true gem, nestled between the idyllic atmospheric waters of Genoa bay and the lush mountainside. Utterly charming venue. Divine menu, beautiful food. Gorgeous, friendly staff. Already planning to go again for lunch later this week. Highly recommend, not to be missed!
