Very cute little shop. Interior is OK - a little rough around the edges. You'd think quiet breakfast spot but it can be lively. There is a kid play and read area. Street parking and a 5 car lot just to the North. The biscuits are excellent, although if you get a sandwich the plain biscuit fluffs up enough to make you want a bit less of it on your sandwich. The cheddar herb was satisfyingly less fluffy for a sandwich. $26 for 2 biscuit sandwiches, a soda, chai latte, tax and 20% tip.

This place is cute but I definitely question the high reviews. The biscuit was just ok in my opinion. Nothing extraordinary. The coffee cake was good but really dry. Kids enjoyed the cinnamon role but weren’t fans of the grilled cheese. My chicken salad sandwich was good but not great. I knocked an additional star because this place is primarily self serve which I wish I had known beforehand. I think it’s ridiculous places like these ask for a tip when you pay when all they do is bring out the food. You get your own condiments and you even have to put away your dishes and silverware yourself. The outside patio is cute but tables inside and outside are very small. Wouldn’t recommend nor return.

This was my first breakfast stop while visiting ATL and it didn’t disappoint. The women working here are so nice, the biscuits are full of flavor and break apart. They had decaf latte options which was the first thing I needed after a 3 AM flight and it was great. The shop inside is very cute and they have outdoor seating outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Great prices as well. We came back in the afternoon for some chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious 🍪

An IMPRESSIVE 5 stars - probably the best meal I've had in Atlanta! Located just next to the Zoo Atlanta entrance, this quiet breakfast spot offers your classic southern breakfast options, like grits and biscuits, with vegetarian and vegan versions as well. I opted for grits with veggie sausage and a pimento cheese biscuit sandwich, both of which were piping hot and EXCELLENT. The grits came with a disposable wooden spoon, which I appreciated for its sustainability, and it was quite easy to eat on the go. The veggie sausage more than met my expectations, and it was great as a combination with the grits. I've never been big on southern food, but this spot singlehandedly made me a grits lover. The biscuit was wrapped in foil, and as I unwrapped it to take a bite, the generous serving of pimento cheese oozed out beautifully. It was my first time trying this staple, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. On top of the fantastic food, the staff working here was extremely nice. The interior isn't very large, but there's a counter where you could read the news or peruse the books and prints by local creators that are displayed for purchase.

The food was not good. My daughter and I stopped for some biscuits. They weren't fresh. It seemed like the egg and cheese had been on them for a minute, making the biscuits wet and soggy; not to mention it was room temperature barely even warm. The cinnamon roll was too sweet ad crumbly for my taste. I did really enjoy the coffee. Bathrooms were clean. Nice books for all ages to read while you eat.

We stopped here for breakfast before going into the zoo. The location was fantastic. The zoo entrance is directly across the street. We had walked from the King Memorial Marta stop, but this restaurant is also easily accessible to the zoo parking lot. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and my husband and I split a cinnamon glazed biscuit. We enjoyed the food, and also the relaxing vibes of the place. The restrooms and restaurant are clean and inviting. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a good breakfast before hitting up the zoo.

I’ve actually never tried their biscuits but I come here for lunch and coffee all the time and I love it! I get the chicken salad wrap with cold brew. Their dining room is huge and cozy. Great place to grab some food and relax after walking around the zoo.

Nice local spot for coffee, pastries, and lunch. It’s right across the street from Grant Park. I stopped in Sunday around noon for an espresso drink and a cheddar biscuit. My drink was good and served at the right temperature immediate enjoyment. The cashier was friendly, knowledgeable, and had good suggestions. The dining area has indoor and outdoor seating. Free WiFi is available for customers.

This is my favorite spot for breakfast, lunch, and coffee in Grant Park! It is family friendly and the atmosphere is amazing. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. It’s perfect to go to before walking over to the zoo! If you haven’t been I recommend you try it!

Stopped by this place before visiting the zoo. The Staff: First and foremost, the people here are an absolute dream to talk to. They're so kind and attentive. Upbeat and alive, like you're they're favorite customer. The Environment: The coffee shop itself is cozy and upbeat. There's a dining room with books and places to hang out. Soft music plays to muffle the noise. Clean, calm and easy going. There's a dog bowl with water outside for the four legged visitors. They even have dog biscuits! The Coffee: They have unique coffee and regular coffee. All the essentials, made well for everyone in our group. And the unique ones are well crafted recipes. Made me want to come back and try more. The Food: They have a lot of food items that work with different dietary needs. My diet is rigid and they had enough variety to flex around me. Food was well made and everyone with me loved their biscuits and sandwiches. 11/10 overall. Loved every moment. I'd recommend ANYONE who likes coffee give this place a try.

The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating; the vegan biscuit was SO good. Small family-run businesses are such an important part of this community. Can't wait to come back and bring all my friends!!

Got the sun bear coffee and my bf got a cold brew. Coffee was one of the best flavors I ever had! We also tried grilled cheese and biscuit sandwich with eggs and pimento cheese. Grilled cheese was panini pressed and the biscuit was awesome. Delicious!!

This place is a must do for me from now on in Atlanta. The biscuits were so good. Exactly like a biscuit should be and I wasn’t even eating mine warmed or with anything on it. The sweet treats are also so good. Everything tastes very fresh and homemade and the people are so friendly. Definitely walk over after you’ve parked at the zoo and treat yourself!

Great place, right across from the Zoo. Biscuits were good, though 1 out of our 10 eaters thought the biscuits were too dry. 9/10 said they were great. The people were great, super friendly. This has to be your go-to place for lunch at the zoo, 2 minute walk from the entrance.

Charming, locally owned coffee shop with delicious treats, biscuits and other breakfast and lunch items with the friendliest and most kind staff! I love to stop here for something to-go and I also sometimes stay and work for an hour or two. The coffee (I usually get a flavored latte but sometimes try one of their monthly special drinks) is amazing and I love their biscuits and vegan sausage. For something sweet, the Howdy Bar is amazing (and freshly homemade). I meant to take a photo but I ate it before I remembered so here's a pic of them behind the counter. Their other sweets look great as well, but I just can't resist the Howdy Bar. I also love that they use reusable cups (even for water) when dining in. And they have a cute area with children's books for families that come to hang out. Make sure to get a punch card because you'll be back!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Howdy in Grant Park, a delightful bakery and coffee shop that exceeded all my expectations. This small establishment offers an impressive array of options for those with dietary restrictions, particularly those requiring dairy-free and gluten-free alternatives. One of the standout features of Howdy is their exceptional customer service. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. In particular, Boyd Baker, the owner and chef, left a lasting impression on me with his genuine passion and dedication to creating delicious food for all customers, regardless of their allergies or dietary restrictions. He goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels welcome and satisfied with their choices. The menu at Howdy is a treasure trove for those seeking dairy-free and gluten-free options. From tantalizing pastries to mouthwatering coffee creations, there is something for everyone. What impressed me the most was Boyd's commitment to continuously expanding the menu and creating new recipes to cater to the diverse needs of his clientele. It's evident that he takes great pride in his craft and genuinely cares about the satisfaction of his customers. During my visit, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment at Howdy. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and savor a delectable treat. The quality and taste of the food were exceptional, exceeding even my highest expectations. The care and attention to detail that Boyd puts into each dish are truly remarkable. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Howdy in Grant Park enough. It is a haven. The outstanding customer service, led by the friendly and dedicated Boyd Baker, only adds to the overall experience. Whether you're looking for a quick coffee or a delightful pastry, Howdy is sure to deliver an unforgettable experience. Thank you Mr. Baker!

My go-to weekend breakfast and coffee shop. Fantastic biscuits, pastries, coffee, and espresso drinks. Very friendly staff and a great ambiance. High recommend. Only suggestion would be to implement online to-go orders!

Lovely family owned spot with character and charm - and delicious coffee, biscuits, sweets, and lunch sandwiches! I’m here at least twice a week! If you WFH, this is a great spot to get out of the house for a bit and get a break from the usual. It’s places like these that make a neighborhood special - make sure to support…you won’t be disappointed!

Went here for a quick breakfast Saturday morning, 4th of July weekend.. Great service! Ordered the cheddar and herb biscuit with egg and bacon. Delicious! Biscuit flaky and warm. Balanced flavors, none of the components were overpowering. Coffee was meh…

Howdy is an affordable coffee shop right by the zoo. There is easy street parking (free!) making it a good spot to grab coffee and a snack on your way into the zoo. They have lots of pastry and drink options and a rotating menu of biscuit sandwiches and other lunch items. The mango popsicles are exceptional!

Love this place! The staff are super friendly (check out their insta too for very wholesome content) and the coffee is top notch. The dining room is great for studying/working and they’ve always got a great playlist going. Fav restaurant in grant park!

I LOVE howdy’s ! It quickly became my favorite grant park spot due to great coffee and food polished off by the nicest and friendliest staff. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and I love the indoor and outdoor seating. I go almost every day now!

The food I've tried here has been excellent. I've only tried their drip coffee and its nice although pretty strong. I highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich, its on an amazing focaccia bread and its so tasty. Also they have a great cookie bar. They seem to really care about being part of the community. They host lots of cute events like comedy, book readings, screenings of sports. The atmosphere of the cafe is great. If you have kids the 10am Tuesdays book reading and nursery rhyme singing is great.

Excellent location across the street from Zoo Atlanta. Very friendly staff. Food was great in a quiet relaxed atmosphere. If you are planning to visit the zoo in the morning, stop here first for breakfast before going to the zoo.

Great little space, yummy homemade popsicles and lemonade after a trip to the zoo. Such a relaxing dining room with shelves of books. Prices very reasonable. Staff so friendly and efficient! Family friendly

Right outside the Zoo Atlanta is a little café that you'd expect to be completely packed to the brim and busy staff, but instead is almost empty, the owners serving you with kindness and care, and food and drinks that are so delicious you couldn't believe. I appreciated the hospitality and will be returning.

Awesome biscuits. I had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and had them add some of their homemade pimento cheese to it. Fantastic! The drip coffee was also amazing. Will definitely be back. My wife had the vegan banana bread and she said it was great.

The man who helped us out, Boyd was amazing. We took the whole loaf of banana bread, and we got a bunch of other stuff that was amazing. Across from the zoo, and a awesome dining area. For sure will go again.

I had an egg and cheese biscuit that was absolutely divine. They make a perfect biscuit! Great coffee and baked goods. We were impressed by the prices too, very reasonable. I wish I had this place by my house, I would eat there nearly every day.

I've eaten at Howdy twice now, and I simply can't understand the 5 star reviewers. Both times my drinks have been very poorly flavored (both coffee and chai). When I ordered the gluten free cheddar drop it was dry and crumbly. The cheddar/beyond meat scone was still raw dough in the center (well, 80% of the pastry) so I had to throw it away. I really wanted this place to be a go-to spot because I live so close, but after two solidly poor experiences, I won't be going back.

Just stumbled across this place today while on a walk around Grant Park and what a gem! The baked goods are all so pretty I had trouble deciding. They had a ton of options, both sweet and savory. I highly recommend the blueberry scones. They are packed full with tons of blueberries. The coffee options are great too. There was tons of places to sit and enjoy, though I took mine to go. I also noticed there is a “walk through” window outside for those who have dogs and can’t go in. Such a good idea! I am so happy to have discovered this place! Thank you!

The atmosphere was nice, customer service was great. We both ordered egg, bacon, and cheese biscuits. They were okay, a little dry and bland, but adding butter and jelly made them better. I'd go back and try their other menu/vegan options. We went on a rain morning, so there were only a few dining at the same time which was nice for conversation in a laid back, quiet atmosphere.

We live down the street and LOVE Howdy! The Willie’s cinnamon rolls are sure to brighten up even the most dull weekday, and we love walking here on the weekends to see what tasty pastries they have to offer. The coffee is always solid too and they’ll fill up your own to go mug (because I agree with the other reviewer the paper cups are a little hard to work with!) So happy to have this option in the neighborhood!
