Love this place! The service and food are always spot on. All of the dishes I've tried have been delicious, but my favorite has to the pork bowl; it's so incredibly tender and flavorful. Definitely a spot you have to check out!

Very delicious and affordable! Love the thick soft bread. Plus a very cute shop with lovely Japanese snacks. The service is slow as most places short-staffed now.. but people are very nice and friendly, so I still give 5 stars. I got a babo tea from the TEALEAF next door as well.

Tenya is a mighty fine establishment. Today was my second time coming here and they are just the sweetest people. Not only are they kind, but the food is amazing! I have only had the sobu noodles with grilled chicken but i highly recommend it because it is very fresh and savory at the same time. They also offer appetizers as well as mains, so lots of diversity. Smells nice inside and great ambiance. I think their prices are good especially for the quality of the food. Great experience ❤️

The cashier was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions! I came on a Tuesday at midday so the restaurant wasn’t busy & my order came out fast. I dined in; the restaurant was very clean and decorated nicely. The fried tofu was super crispy & paired well with the gingeryaki sauce! The fries??? Amazing. Looking forward to returning.

Tenya Japanese Eatery, located in N. Decatur, offers a boutique style dining experience. The staff members here are incredibly hospitable and kind. From the moment I walked in, I received a warm welcome and helpful information about the menu. To begin my meal, I ordered a delightful combination of miso soup, Tenya fries & furikake. The fries were prepared fresh to order and came with a special mayonnaise sauce imported directly from Japan. For my main course, I selected the Gingeryaki rice chicken bowl, which featured tender chicken paired with flavorful rice, Japanese's slaw, tenya sauce and pickles. It was a delicious and satisfying choice.

Love coming into this awesome little eatery. The food is always hot, with generous portions. Everything I've tried is perfectly cooked and artfully arranged (I *almost* feel bad about messing up such a beautiful meal when I dig in!) They've recently started offering a delicious chicken soup that I really hope is here to stay. The service is friendly, joyful and engaging. When my partner and I stopped in most recently, the host came by multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. I could gush all day, but I'll leave with this: Eat here, you'll love it!

The street food here is excellent- I tried both the chicken sandwich and the chasu (pork) bowl, and both were very tasty. In addition, the cashier/owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. She even skipped the tip screen when I was checking out; which exhibits a lot of humility on her part (though I would have liked to tip her for such great service!) The portion sizes were great as well; as were the prices. I'll certainly be back!

I love this place! They have very good Tofu and their curry bowl is amazing. The service is fast and I like the collection of snacks and drinks they have for sale. Everyone here is very welcoming and warm too.

Really nice little place to sit and have a Japanese meal. They offer katsu, pork, and tofu. You can have bowls or salads. You can have a plate with cole slaw and either soba or rice like I did. The sauces are really good too. I have the miso tahini. Soooo good. Loved it. The cole slaw wasn't vegan though, just a note. But the rest was fine. No dairy in the miso tahini. I will definitely be coming back. The flavors are a party in your mouth.
