I have decided to edit my review. After an initial bad service I was contacted by Lara (Sales + Events Manager) who was absolutely brilliant. She explained what she thought went wrong and asked me to give the place another chance. Went in on Saturday about a week or so later and my family and I had wonderful time. Great service, great food and atmosphere. I will come back to see the place again. Place not too busy. Sat down outside with family. No service for 15 min. Went to look for someone. Was told we are sorry and will be with you in a moment. Nothing for another 10 minutes. As we got up waiter showed up. Asked for 3 cocktails (one virgin) and two deserts. Got two cocktails and one desert. Asked for another cocktail. The 2nd desert never showed up. The cocktail was a joke. See the picture. More like $17 glass of ice. Wrote to the managing group but no response from there either.

Super friendly service. Food is as advertised, artisan pub. Dexter (my dog) and I felt very welcome in the outside but enclosed area. Highly recommend for a place to hang out with friends.

Overall food is good: Pizza is excellent but the ribs are burnt and dry. Customer service is excellent. Decent variety of items on the menu. Is quite expensive for the portion sizes though - would only be back as part of a group or with first table.

First time dining there and it wasn't as great as the reviews made it seem. First of all the waitress who served us was great, but the policy of paying up front before food arrive was something I've never experienced before and found it quite rude. Now for the food, kids meal fish and chips was a joke! The smallest size fish for $14! The wagyu burger pattie was burnt and basically eating charcoal coating absolutely a let down! Only dish that was worth eating were the ribs. Would I recommend this place? No I would not!

Today my wife and I had lunch to celebrate her birthday with our toddler. The food was absolutely brilliant, what made our day even more special, despite trying to tangle a toddler was the brilliant, friendly service by the team. In particular I would like to acknowledge and thank Charlotte for her friendly service with a smile. We will definitely be back.

I had my 21st Birthday dinner here and it was wonderful! The food was delicious! The service was fantastic and friendly. All credit to Line, she made the night. Always checking if we needed anything, smiling and so professional. She was absolutely fantastic! It was the day before ANZAC and we’re pretty busy but Line was just amazing and really made our group feel welcome. When (not if) we come back we certainly hope Line is there. Shout out to this amazing member of staff!!

Had a great time with my friends after a busy week. The food was absolutely brilliant, what made our afternoon even more especially. Nice and friendly service by pub. A bit crowded but full of positive energies. Drinks, chicken wings, potato fried were all in hight quality. Unfortunately I just took a photo to share but will add more later. We will definitely be back.

What an absolute vibe! The staff are incredible! Indica took care of us all night, Joey the bouncer is so kind and keeps you safe and manager V brought us a heater personally to keep us comfy!! I’ll definitely be back!

Brilliant service. In fact, mind-reading. First time here and I was about to leave the outdoor area to get a second drink. The young lady working the outdoor area (forgive me, as I didn't get your name) came and asked, with perfect timing, if I would like another drink. Took my order and payment outside, and saved me a trip back to the bar. Brilliant service! Will definitely be returning.

Took our daughter for a birthday lunch and the food was great as always. I do find though that when it's busy the service is a bit lacking, especially when you've finished and maybe want a desert or coffee....you have to try and get someone's attention. But otherwise great

We had Amy as our waitress, she recommended some delicious meals. Amy and the team on over New Years were amazing we were in awe of the great service! Delicious cuisine, fast and equally yummy drinks! Thanks for being so accomodating to our two year old 🥰

Lovely environment but the Kaarage pork was a bit average. Mostly just pork belly fat dipped in spices and deep fried. The amount of pure fat just becomes a little too much. Others said their meals were good. Saag curry, nachos, fish and chips and a cesar salad. 1013/2023 - Have been again twice this week for xmas lunches. The food has been amazing. I had the chicken burger on Wednesday and the ribs on Friday. The table had a selection of meals from steaks to fish and chips and pizzas. Everyone thought the meals were great.

We've been there a few times and the vibe and food are always great. It's great place for a quick drink or some more. There's a band playing on Fridays, and what a good vibe it is. We will take our kids with on some nights, and even they love it. The staff are great with the kids and they consider them with everything.

Lovely dinner at The Merchant on a Saturday night for hubbys birthday. The food was great, the atmosphere was great and our waitress Sophie was fantastic! She was attentive and helpful through-out the night and even got the warriors game put on for the husbands! We had such a good time we forgot to take photos. Thanks team!

We had our 50th birthday here, staff were great to deal with, especially Lara, professional, thorough, great food and they did a beautiful set up for us. Ella our waitress also very good. Highly recommend for a private function! Thanks team!

Excellent location for a meal or function with a variety of seating areas both inside and out. Eight of us chose a table outside for lunch and enjoyed a selection of dishes. Three shared a platter of which there was enough for others to sneak tidbits while most of the others enjoyed burgers which were quite tasty with generous sides. Overall great value, fabulous service and nice location.

Food was a bit average, mostly because it took a long time, was cold or just a little bland. Service was poor - wait staff were friendly but had to go find wait staff to ask for further drinks & dessert orders, table not cleared before dessert brought out. Was also extremely noisy Friday evening - even before the band came on (but not a lot can be done about that I guess, just an FYI). May be better during quieter times. Wouldn't choose to go back.

This time: We tried to go on Sunday for lunch. Walked in. Waited at maitre d stand. A waitress eventually noticed us so we asked for a table for two. She motioned to the restaurant section and said to sit anywhere. We sat down. And waited. And waited. And waited. After 15 minutes we had yet to be given a menu or water so we left. Several waitresses have been through the section, checking on bigger table- failing to check in or clear the dirty dishes from a table nearby. On the way our she gave us a vacant smile. Bloody tragic service. If you can even call it that. Lack of service more like. It's a shame because there were several items on the menu that looked great. Last time: Initial lack of greeting from the first waitress that saw us nearly had us leave. The second waitress was lovely though. She seated us, accommodated some food changes (sorry chefs). My food was absolutely delicious. Steak was rare instead of medium rare but the cut was good enough to work. Veggies were fabulous too. My friend's chips weren't good, pork belly was decent though. We didn't get a meal check until I was on my last bite though. All in all it was a decent experience, and food was good- but there is room for improvement. We will be back.

We visited The Merchant today and it was far busier than usual. We were very impressed by the attentive,efficient and friendly services of your two waitresses Paige and Ella. Although we had a bit of a longer wait for the food, they did keep us informed and the wait time really wasn’t as long as it could have been. When we received our meals they were very tasty and well presented. So compliments to the chefs. We had the butter chicken. We’ve been visiting your establishment since it became The Merchant and todays service is the best we have had. Keep up the high standards. 31/7/2022

My husband and I came here for lunch yesterday, we sat outside, the ambiance was great even on a gloomy day, our waitress was attentive and happy, which was lovely. We ordered two burgers, a beer and a coke. Drinks came fast, burgers took ages to come out, our waitress took the initiative to follow up on them without us asking, she brought them to our table and mentioned they looked a bit burnt… she took them back to the chef to swap the top buns out which was lovely of her, unfortunately when biting into it the whole bun was burnt and the patty also, very disappointing. Our waitress asked how the food was, I let her know it wasn’t great and she was very generous and said she wouldn’t charge us for them. She was great! The food was not. Such a shame.

Nikaya was such a pleasure to deal with tonight and we had a great family dinner! The pork ribs were so tender and full of flavor with just the right amount of sauce. The chefs clearly know what they're doing. My friend had the salmon and said it was a 5*, perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. Will be back to our new favorite spot on the shore! Great selection of wine and beer too! Appreciated the kids meals coming out quickly to keep the little ones happy.

Great menu, it was hard for us to pick something. Everything was super yummy, chicken wings and pizza were good and Boa buns were yummy too. Quick service, friendly staff! Also has dietary options and menu if that is what you need

We haven't been to the Merchant for a long time. Were pleased we chose to celebrate our anniversary here as fab meal at lovely corner table. Our server Ella was great. Pleasant & helpful. Will be back soon and frequently!

Great Service by Charlie, we were sitting outside on a beautiful day, and Charlie regularly attended our table, eating copious amounts of great food, and of course the beer was cold and tasted great. We will be back.

Pretty empty for a Saturday. Pizza was nice although quite thin for $23. Staff are usually pretty good but sometimes you get left alone for a while and have to find waitstaff to help. Ambiance is great but the outdoor section is absolutely filled with smokers - it’s pretty unbearable unless you’re a smoker yourself!
