I really liked the food there. Papaya salad was a bit spicy but it's refreshing. The sauce and ingredients in the noodle matched well. As for curry, it was better than I expected, I thought it'd be just a regular curry but the spice in there made it very delicious. I'm just a ok with the salad roll as there are too much herbs in it that covered up the other taste. But overall the experience was great, would definitely suggest to friends and would return to try out other dishes.

This is one of the most impressive vegitarian restaurants I have eaten at. The food is served in an authentic Vietnamese way. It was flavorful and filling. Service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend this choice for anyone wanting a delicious meal. Five stars plus on this one.

It’s a personal preference thing but everything is on the sweet side, which I’m not a fan of. I’ve been to Hanoi and love spicy food, in my opinion the dishes here are definitely more accustomed to North American palate. Both noodle dishes are lacking spiciness. Interior decor is cool tho, love the cozy vibe.

Who knew Saigon vegetarian would taste so good? Do Chay always have queues. We made reservations and I can attest why they are so busy! The Coconut Rice Cakes was recommended by the server and first bite I was in flavour heaven with sweetness with coconut and tampered with seared rice with herbs. Spring Rolls were super crispy and delicious wrapped with mustard green and herbs. Saigon noodle had good flavour and packed with heat. My favourite is the Satay Noodles drenched in peanut and sesame sauce. Vegan Prawn Curry was also delicious with coconut curry with plant based prawns, tofu and vegetables. I need to come back to try more dishes from their extensive menu.

Best to make a reservation as it is NOT a place you can just walk in to be seated. Requires several days or even weeks prebooking as they aren't very big, service is slow and seem quite popular. Parking also very limited in this area. * No guest wifi. Was quite humid/hot while dining inside (outside temp was mid-high 20s), dress accordingly * Probably not worth the wait if you are not strictly vegan/vegetarian especially as there are other vegetarian & vegetarian friendly places in this area as good without the wait. Food was ok. As a non-vegetarian, I would say it stands out as catering more to vegan tastes. The dishes aren't trying to mimic meat versions of the dish accurately. In fact, you probably would enjoy it more if you are not already familiar with Vietnamese food as there are no expectations to live up to. For the meat eaters, we were a bit disappointed but the vegetarian of us enjoyed the vege 'Pho'. Bahn Khot: OK, a but mushy and very coconutty. Papaya Salad: Enjoyed it; it is spicy so beware and salty toward the bottom. Salted Egg Eggplant: It is saltier than expected, a bit greasy because fried. Pretty good otherwise. Could have paired with more greens to cut through the grease. Bun bo hue: Disappointing if you expect it to be like a true Bun bo hue. Flavours not as strong, noodles too soft. Pho: Liked it. Unusual choice of toppings for a pho (avocado, cauliflower...?). I See it more as noodle with soup and veggies than a "pho". Desert Island Noodle: Coconut and salty flavours on limpy noodles. Kind of a hodge podge of ingredients thrown together. It tastes like vegan food.

Had a wonderful time here. Food is top notch. The lettuce wraps, the springs rolls and the rice cakes were all solid dishes. Fantastic flavours and excellent presentation. Service was great as well. Will definitely be back.

Very tasty vegetarian food. Ordered the eggplant with rice and the satay mushroom noodle soup. The eggplant was perfectly cooked: skin is chewy and savoury. The soup was full of flavour. Monsoon rolls are an excellent appetizer! The sauce is fruity and savoury— highly recommended.

A very impressive restaurant. The presentation of the dishes was very ornate and beautiful. The staff were friendly and dressed very smartly. Would recommend for business meetings or dates that you want to impress. The restaurant isn't fully vegan, watch out for the egg dishes.

I would absolutely frequent this place if i was closer. I came around 4:30 on a Thursday. Lots of tables. The server was excellent. Attentive enough but not overbearing. She matched my casual vibe and I always appreciate that. She asked about allergies. She also gave me space when my mom gave me a call during my solo outing. I had the Sweet & Spicy Rice Plate and every bite was amazing. Such a great flavour and great textures. The food came out really fast and it was an excellent price. 10/10. Will go back and will try to have something new, but no guarantees.

First time. Excellent service, delicious foods and good price. Moonsoo roll you need to try it. Fresh and delicious. The pineapple sauce I wish I could have a bottle of it. The Uncle Hings wings very delicious. My friend had vegan prawn curry and I had Lemongrass tofu. Very very tasty. Definitely recommend this place and I will go back♥️

I've gotten the Uncle Hing's wings as takeout before (and they were amazing!) but this was my first time dining in. Would definitely recommend making a reservation as it's a smaller space that gets quite busy. It's a bit tightly packed inside but the ambience is still pleasant. Food came out super fast, the presentation looked great and everything tasted really nice and fresh. I also appreciated that they still have glass dividers between tables esp as we enter flu season :)

I really enjoyed the vibe and setup of this restaurants. Im not a vegetarian and I was impressed how some of the dishes imitated and substituted seafood or meat. Great experience. Perfect for couples or groups with mixed dietary restrictions who want to sit and eat at the same table.

The dishes here are so tasty and the portions are a good size. The lettuce wraps were definitely a way larger serving than we anticipated. The staff are friendly and the service is fast. Also love the ambiance of the place. It’s super cute and stylish. Can’t wait to go back.

Great place for some vegetarian Vietnamese food. It was a long bus ride for us but worth the trip. We got the satay noodles, vermicelli with mushrooms and the rice cakes. While the satay noodles were very flavorful, the rice cakes won hands down. We loved the texture and the flavor, very unique. The Do chay tea was a refreshing cocktail but it's did not blow my mind. Great service and a very cute place, definitely worth a visit. The food is reasonably priced and their portions are pretty good.

I’ve bean living life on the veg Do make a visit to Do Chay! You will not regret it. The vegan and vegetarian food here is some of the best I’ve eaten. You will feel satisfied with none of the heavy feeling. I still remember my first visit @eatdochay here trying out their avocado pho a while ago. They have a new location in Yaletown and lots of new creative dishes to try. Here’s my order •Spring rolls •Coconut rice cakes •Green beans •Desert Island noodles •Spicy Guava margarita •Fresh young coconut The coco rice cakes (banh knot) are a crowd pleaser and it’s a must order! It’s cast iron seared coconut milk rice cakes with mung beans, jicama, onion and “ish” sauce. There are many dimensions of flavours. You have some sweetness from the coconut mixed with the savoury and it cumulates into a heavenly bite with the dipping sauce. I usually order the monsoon rolls but this time I opted for the crispy spring rolls. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either choice. The XO green beans were super addicting! It was perfectly wok tossed with spicy mushroom sauce! The Desert Island noodles were another winner! The noodles were as thick as udon but less chewy as it’s made from rice. The dish had vegan meatballs with a loose texture and taste of nuts. Overall, a good amount of umami and I would order again. The vibe is relaxing and they have a popular patio in the back. The “Ish” sauce is their house made vegan substitute for fish sauce. I’m guessing it made from a complex mixture of many ingredients but fermented mung beans is what gives it the fish like aroma. I’m not a vegan 🌱 but @eatdochay does satisfy this meat lover😜 You feel fulfilled without the guilt. I highly recommend this place and I’m looking forward to trying out their Yaletown location and trying out some new dishes!

I’ve been wanting to try Do Chay Kingsway for awhile now. So glad I did! The food was really phenomenal. Seasoned to perfection. My favourite is the coconut rice cake. It was so flavourful. Staff were friendly and attentive. Reservation is strongly encouraged. This place is popular and always busy. Will definitely be back and highly recommended to anyone.

Very delicious food and majority of the menu is vegan! First off, their vegan pho broth is absolutely delicious - I had no idea it could be this good and similar tasting to a non-vegan broth. I also love their coconut rice cakes as they are super crispy on the outside, soft inside, and addicting. Service was amazing! Super friendly and made the overall experience so pleasant.

The food is truly impressive, and I am not a vegetarian. Not even close! We tried a variety of offerings and none of them disappointed! If I dined alone, I will start with the Diakon Cakes and have Desert Island Noodles as the main. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

Tasty food, definitely a great place for shares and appeys. I ordered sweet n sour rice bowl (featured in the photo), while the veggies themselves were flavorful, it came with a bowl of plain rice and no sauce. Luckily we had leftover sauce from our spring rolls, otherwise, it would have tasted a little bland.

  • 4/5 Alex C. 9 months ago on Google
Great vegetarian food - amazing flavour and texture in all the dishes that is pretty close to their non-vegetarian counterparts. Definitely get the spring rolls, coconut rice cakes and banh xeo for starters! Service was attentive and quick while the atmosphere in the restaurant was fitting and chic.

We had an absolutely phenomenal experience here. If we were in town longer we would 100% be going back. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We showed up without a reservation so we’re seated on their patio. The staff made every effort to ensure we were warm and comfortable. We ordered the spring rolls, “wings”, satay noodles and black garlic eggplant; a lengthy debate ensued about which one was the best. My personal favorite was the black garlic eggplant it was full of delicious complex flavors that kept me wanting more (and this is coming from someone who doesn’t usually like eggplant). My partners favorite was the spring rolls. When we were first told to add the mint to them we were skeptical but after giving in and trying it we were blown away! As a non-vegan and vegan couple it can be hard to find a place that we both absolutely love, but Do Chat really exceeded all expectations.

The best Vietnamese food I've ever had. Get the peanut satay and spring rolls and ish sauce especially. Amazing. So much flavor and so fresh. Also many other delicious dishes. Always piping hot when I order delivery! Extremely generous portions too.

They didn't wash the vegetables and there were flies in the vegetables... If order food to home, they often don't give you good food like when you eat at restaurant and there are always shortcomings. Sometimes they don't give the sauce , sometimes they don't give vegetables, sometimes they burn the cakes and especially the banh xeo I usually order. They always do a bad job when ordering food. I always have to call to complain... and one time a male employee answered me that if it wasn't good why i keep order food...? I have never seen anyone ask a customer like that...! I will never come back here even I’m there customers for 3,4 years… they are lucky that I don’t call the heath to complain

Had the Bun Bo Hue, Satay Noodles and Uncle Hing's Wings. The food was delicious and doesn't feel heavy afterwards. The servers were very welcoming and friendly. Great atmosphere. Will definitely come back again. :)

Great food, atmosphere, and people. One of the green onions was in the shape of a heart. So cute. Haha. Also there were nice pictures on the walls that made the place feel very wholesome.

Very delicious vegan option for Vietnamese cuisine. I am not vegan but I have enjoyed my dinner at Do Chay! I definitely recommend it to vegans as much as to meat eaters. Very nice service and atmosphere. We also got a complementary desert (coconut jelly)

Reviewing as a meat eater, I would eat this type of food regularly. Curries were very fragrant, spiced to perfection but like a few others noted, slightly on the sweet side. They also skimped on the fake meat. I'd like to see a bit more fake shrimp. I didn't care for the crepe salad dish. It's dominated by greens and beans sprouts. Appetizers like spring rolls and coconut rice things were good. Seating is spacious. I like that they don't cram diners into the row of booth seating.

My expectations were absolutely blown away by the food. I opted to share four street food dishes with my friend and each plate was delicious. Special mention to the coconut rice cakes and the fry bread. I love meat and did not find myself missing it at all. I also enjoyed how their nuoc cham was more savoury than acidic - a much more balanced version of the sauce in my opinion. I will definitely be back. The staff were very kind and the atmosphere was cozy too.

I went for dinner with my co workers, because a few of us are vegetarian. We had some drinks and shared dumplings, deep fried spring rolls, noodles and eggplant. The food was delicious very tasty. You need to make reservations.

Do Chay is an amazing Vietnamese restaurant which offers an incredible selection of vegetarian meals and cocktails. The environment is clean, welcoming, and the food is delicious. The pho is possibly the best I've ever had (a must-try). The staff are super friendly, welcoming. This is a great place to go for a nice healthy meal or a quick bite. Highly recommended!

Fantastic vegan and vegetarian dishes. The crepe was my favourite by far - well marinated veggies wrapped in a thin, crisp layer of rice flour wrap, and the “fish” sauce adds an excellent kick. Both flavourfully and texturally delicious!

I came here to have lunch with a friend and it sure was a popular place! We ordered the springs rolls to start and they were delicious! I also ordered the Sweet and Spicy Bowl and it was very filling; I really enjoyed the tempura battered veggies. The service here was great and the atmosphere was nice - I will definitely return again!

I'm really impressed with this place . The are definitely on point . I've been back so many times, for take out and dine in. I've almost tried every dish here and they all have been super delish! I dont even know where to start. Uncle hings wings are so good. Oyster mushrooms are sooo good . Nice and a great kick. The bun bo hue is the only one that I feel should maybe not have so much Lemongrass in there. It's cut up into little bits and you will get a mouthful which isn't the easiest to eat, so maybe if they smashed it in the broth . The spicy sesame bowl isn't spicy at all . But the other dishes have a good enough of spice in them . Other than that , right now this would be my go to vegan restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

We had to wait for an hour since we did not have a reservation. The staff was very polite and gave us great food recommendations. The best part is that the restaurant is vegetarian so there are many options to choose from! The portion sizes are enough for one person. We got a complimentary coconut dessert and was soooo yummy!!! Would definitely go there again!
