If you're going with a big group be prepared to go into a room that's located right next to the washroom and smells like one too. Although they cleaned it right before we went in (we saw the guy with a mop and bucket in hand) it smelled like a heavily used washroom. It's $7/hour but they don't split the bill on weekends apparently after 9PM. There was no sign of this in the store when we went in. The owner however decided to split the bill for a group of Koreans around 10:30PM but refused it to do it for my group of 8 (a mix of Chinese, Japanese and Russian). When someone in my group asked for an explanation why he replied "Just because I'll do it for someone else doesn't mean I'll do it for you." This is just poor business. I will not be coming back here

No real complaints for Twister - it's a very affordable karaoke joint in the Yonge and Finch area. That doesn't take into account the cost of alcohol but it will always be expensive so I won't let that impact my review. We couldn't get a room at any nearby places but Twister could take us with a short 10 minute wait, so we decided to give it a try. The employees are helpful and we had no issues with getting a room and payment. The rooms aren't old, but things are a bit outdated. For example, the wallpaper isn't the most aesthetic but it's not a big deal - just go out in the hall if you want to take photos for memories. They had most of the songs we were looking for and had a secondary screen where people could see the words if we couldn't see the medium sized main TV. That secondary screen could be moved around which was convenient. Their system is connected to Youtube, which is great, because they had some very new songs that came out just a few days before we went! Really appreciate that compared to other karaoke places that don't regularly update their songbooks. One other plus for me is that the room didn't smell like smoke - something that we usually take for granted.

Last night we spent a couple of hours at Twister Karaoke. There were 3 of us in toom 12. Overall it was a good experience. Everything was good except that the neighbouring room had a much louder setup. We asked to increase our sound but the admin said “Everyone wants different sound levels, for some clients, it's a good sound” and he just walked out of the room. In my opinion, businesses should try to accommodate their client as much as possible.

Pros: - The service was good and the song selection was quite extensive with lots of new stuff. Cons: - They charged $10 extra per hour even though they quoted me a different price when I called two different times. - Was on main floor and the room was boiling, we had to open the door constantly to try and get some cool air in.

My review is late; however, it's still worth saying that I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The reviews below are quite telling. The staff are quite rude and unprofessional when it comes to customer service. They are not transparent about their pricing and it most likely because they know what they are doing is unethical. First time my friends and I went, everything was fine. Second time we went, we were overcharged significantly. We asked for an itemized receipt to see the charges and they refused to give it to us because they knew we were aware of being charged incorrectly. When we asked about it, one of the male staff members became verbally aggressive. They likely overcharged us because we had a bottle from outside with us the second time we were there. Even so, we did buy alcohol from the establishment while we were there. If we were not allowed outside bottles, they should have asked us to remove the bottle or leave. Instead they took the bottle (which WE paid for and was OUR property) and then proceeded to overcharge us and to this day we don't know why. Unprofessional and not a good way to do business. The walls are covered in stuff and signage is not clear. Consumer Affairs Canada should take a look at these reviews and ultimately the business to see if this business in violation of ethical business practices, especially when it comes to confiscation of others property and charging for services without transparency.

This place doesn’t even deserved 1 star!!!!! Staffs are rude!! We were enjoying singing for like only about 15 minutes when the staff rudely came inside the room and took the souvenir bottles we got from an event we came from before going to the karaoke. The staff didn’t even knock or excuse before entering the room. He took the empty bottles without telling us anything, he just took it. We asked why is he taking it, then he replied and shouted telling us that drinks are not allowed. We’re not drinking and the bottles are empty. How can we drink the full bottle in like 15 mins? We decided to leave because of the rudeness, then they charged us $36. He didn’t even apologize coz accdg to him he did nothing wrong and what he did was not rude at all. Will never go back to this place!!!

There was a very aggressive reaction from the staff when we asked to split the bill. Not only did they convey their policies (they don't split the bill past 9 pm) to us in a condescending way, when we asked why the party prior to us got a different treatment, they just said "Just because I did something for them, doesn't mean I'll do it for you". I don't think there is anything wrong with having a single bill policy but there was definitely something wrong with the way they communicate with their customers.

Given that this karaoke spot is in a location where there are several other (cheaper) options just a few steps away, you would think that the staff would take this into account in how they treat their guests. I have been to multiple karaoke spots around Toronto and in the same area as Twister, but I have never before received such poor treatment from staff: During our experience we learned: 1. No outside drinks were allowed, including closed water bottles. They thought we might be bringing in alcohol despite the bottles never having been opened before, and even if it was water, they are a "business" and instead want us to purchase their $3 water bottles. 2. They charged us the incorrect amount, and somehow used this "discount" to further justify not allowing us to drink our own water. 3. Staff was rude and argumentative, insisting policy over decent treatment. If you're looking for a fun evening of karaoke, I would suggest going anywhere else. Despite the decent song selection and good location, the fun evening my friends and I were having just as quickly evaporated at our own dehydration.

Big song selection since it's coming from YouTube. The rooms need to be renovated...the one we ended up in had rugs on the wall with questionable cleanliness.

Ignore the bad reviews. You’re coming here to get drunk and sing poorly executed songs with your homies. This place was so fun, and I enjoyed the diversity in music choices. I don’t even know Vietnamese and somehow I managed to sing a song from beginning to end. Thanks for the memories.

We went here with a group of 6 because our usual karaoke place down the street was full. We were assigned a spacious room at the back that wasn't too hot. The karaoke machine was decent; it allowed song selection via YouTube using Wi-Fi. However, there were occasional disconnections or glitches, although the overall karaoke experience was enjoyable. The only downside I would mention is the high cost of alcohol. We should have been more aware of the prices before placing an order. A bottle of Soju is priced at $23. I can't complain too much about the prices since we didn't inquire beforehand, and the surprise of the expense was a letdown. Given the price, I cannot rate this place higher than 3 stars, and I do not recommend it to others.

Dont bother coming here, there are many many better places around the area and is a lot cheaper. the staff is rude and unprofessional, they also lied about the bill pricing, it was very frustrating, our group decided to just pay and move on with our lives in the end, but it really isnt worth it here. There are many other reviews that tell you the same, do yourself and your friends a favour and just go elsewhere.

Honestly, one of my favourite karaoke places because of the awesome staff. They're really accomodating and never overcharge us. Pretty average karoake space, great for the price (around $30 an hour).

A great karaoke spot in a prime location with tons of song selections run by an amazing team! We’ve been coming here for many many years and have celebrated many milestones here. This will continue to be our go to place in the area! As long as you respect and follow the rules of the establishment and come with a fun group, there’s no complaints really!

The price is basically $30/hr by room or group. But you'd need set an alarm as no one will come to tell you an hour has past. We picked songs off of YouTube but since that needs Wi-Fi, it'll have trouble connecting sometimes or completely skip an video as it won't support it, strangely enough.

Worst experienced ever in the past weekend visited. They made us paid deposit for 1h in advanced to reserve a room which is fine. When we arrived 15mins early then scheduled just to make us wait 25mins more to get a room since they have to kicking other customers out which i found it very rude. Things keep getting worse right at the start, The Karaoke machine connection didn’t work so they took 30mins to restarted the machine and it finally working for a proximately 1h then it lost connection again. They forced to move us to a bigger room in the bs and charge us the same amount of time without any deductions when we checked out. On top of that they took advantage of us with the invoice thinking we were drank and tried to cheat the bill right in front of us. SO GREEDY!!! PLEASE BECAREFULL WHEN YOU DECIDE TO VISIT HERE.

Small karaoke place, it was just okay. They do really need to wipe clean the screen of the song selection machine though.

They don't even deserve a 1 star. over price on pretty much everything. Me and some of my friends only stayed here for 2 hours and got a couple of drink and they charged us over 120$ just for that! the owner is so rude and it doesn't even show on the receipt how much everything is. *DON'T EVER GO TO THIS PLACE* before you regret it.....

Can't drink your own water in the room, have to buy a bottle of water. Can find a lot of music, different options to sing. Some songs don't have a karaoke version that follows along. Mics work good. Only cash and debit.

Incredible. The sweetest and most helpful staff! You can play off YouTube which was such a plus point. Low-key and lovely if you don't like too many rowdy people.

It would get cozier if you keep going. I admit that you can hear everything from the next rooms and the rooms in basement are not comfortable. But it is good enough for me and the staff always give us another half an hour or hour for free. Also I don't know if they are still working but the elder couple who I used to see there was super nice. If you are a serious karaoke singer, I would suggest a different place.

I would give this place a zero if I could. Do not go here. When you first enter the room, the staff over explains the equipment and takes up 10 minutes of the time that you’re PAYING to use the room. The main reason we came to this karaoke place is because they have YouTube, which gives a wider selection of songs, so you would assume they have a lot of options but no. Even the biggest artists like Drake and Ariana Grande had little to no songs options. And when I say little I mean little. I very kindly explained to the staff the problem and he said it was because they didn’t download any songs. I asked if there was some other room available with more downloaded songs on YouTube. The lady then very disrespectfully said that no other customers complain about the songs and that “it’s just us”, etc. I work in customer service so I understand her responses if I was being disrespectful or a “karen” but I sooo kindly and respectfully explained the problem and even apologized for “complaining” yet still was treated so wrong. She then picked up the phone and started calling her manager (unasked for) and handed me the phone with no explanation of what she wanted me to say. I explained the problem to the manager and he seemed very rude on the phone and was not listening. He told the staff to do a “video call” to show the problem and hung up. The manager never called back. My friends and I were so extremely frustrated and disappointed that we came all this way for literally no song options to sing so we asked if we can leave. We stayed at this karaoke place for a total of 30 minutes, 15 minutes using the equipment (including his explanation) and 15 trying to fix the situation. Nevertheless, they still charged my friends and I $10 knowing we barely touched the room. Then when my friend was getting money out to pay the man literally GRABBED the money out of my friends hand. Mind you she was not motioning for him to take the money, she literally just getting it out of her purse and counting it. This was such a horrible experience and the customer service was beyond atrocious. I would not recommend anyone to go here.

Overall a group of my friends and I had mostly negative experience. First of all, the per hour price charged was higher than the one I was told over the phone when I called the day before. The staff had some attitude while they were serving us, which didn't interfere with our over all use of the space and we were still getting served everything we ordered, we were a group of 6 and came to enjoy each other's company other than that of the staff. The furniture was dated and the room smelled like smoke, which was very strange for me because smoking inside the building has not been allowed in Ontario for a few years now. When the time came to paying our bill the gratuity was already included, which is okay, but we were not made aware of if it before we all ordered drinks. Two out of three couples had extra drinks added to our bill and then the gratuity on top. When we asked about the extra drinks, thats when we really got the attitude from the staff and manager. He was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional, with even more attitude than the staff. This was definitely the last time we visited this place.

Really disappointed with my experience with Twister. We were told we would have the room without a time limit when we first entered. Approaching the 1 hr 50 minute mark, we were then told to leave because they had a 2 hour limit on busy nights. I would much rather go to Shout and dolphin on the same street.

Was scared the song choices were going to be limited, but no! Very wide selection, including newer songs, and the keyboard accommodates a ton of languages. Was charged 36$ for an hour but was also given a free second hour. Came with a group of 6 and the room comfortably fit us all. It can get hot in the room, but the air smells fine. Bring a korean friend though, just in case of a language barrier. The experience was great but the food was overpriced. Microphones had a sanitation cover. Great joint just for singing and fun

This place is a scam. They gave us double vodka sodas when we only asked for a single and did not inform us of this until we got the bill. They do this to run the bill up without you knowing until you have to pay at the end. When confronted they came up with a bunch of excuses to justify their actions. This is wreckless and dangerous to patrons as they don't care how intoxicated you get and could cause a hazardous or fatal accident when leaving. Their liquor license should be under review tbh. Never going there again.
