A great high vaulted ceiling Asian restaurant! Located in the heart of Heartland Mississauga, this congee (rice soup) named restaurant has more than that! The food tasty and the presentation is wonderful! I really like the lobster dish that sometimes is presented in a tower like structure. Staff is very prompt and friendly. There's tons of parking outside and there's always people outside enjoying the cool summer air! Stay safe out there friends and please, be kind to one another!

Pretty good Chinese food and the chili oil is absolutely amazing. The menu is pretty big so there’s a lot to choose from. The beef noodle dish was pretty good and paired well with the chili oil. The only issue is that some of the fried dishes lacked flavour and was more on the oily side.

This place has a wide selection of Chinese foods from seafood to Chinese BBQ to stir fry, all the dishes are authentic to Asian roots and well flavored, and cooked to perfection. And of course you gotta try one of their wide selection of congees. The service is fast and attentive. We went during a busy Friday night dinner time and got our 9 dishes very quickly. There were plenty of waiters you can wave down and they were very attentive as well. The place had clean bathrooms and the tables were clean as well. The place is great for a large party or even a date. The ceiling has this artistic and decorative light fixture that adds well to the ambience of the place. Whether you're familiar with Chinese dishes or not the menu here has plenty of pictures and you can't go wrong with any of the items that look good on the menu. We would and have come back again many times.

Had dinner at the Heartland location a few nights ago. We ordered several dishes to share among 7 of us. We walked in and were seated right away. Servers were rather attentive when we first sat down but as the evening continued on, we were somewhat ignored. Food came out rather quickly except and portions were generous. However, they had forgotten one of our dishes that we ordered. We alerted one of the Servers and asked her to check and she said that they would get on it. 15 minutes later, she came back and told us that our dish got served to the wrong table and that they would have to cook the dish again and would take another 15 minutes! This is wonton soup we are talking about. Asked another server and he said he would get on it but came back saying that they have many other orders ahead of our request. Told them that this was unacceptable since the mistake was made on their part and we should not have to wait. He ignored us and we sat there waiting again. 10 minutes went by before another server came and we asked him to check on our dish. He went straight to the back and came back out with our wonton soup. I guess, you'd need to have 3 people to get your order right. That's rather disappointing. This was not our first experience dining at Congee Queen. We have loved the food and the variety we get here. But the Servers they hired need to be better trained, hence minus the stars. .

Always a solid experience at this restaurant. Every dish was fresh, delicious and we'll portioned, just perfect. Bonus points for the decor and quick, friendly service. They raise the bar for what to expect at a good Chinese restaurant.

One of the better Congee Queen, food is fresh and service is okay. It is difficult to receive good service at a lot of Asian restaurants; congee Queen is a hit and miss at times when it comes to customer service. Overall this location can get pretty busy, definitely recommend making reservations to avoid wait times during peak hours.

Great and safe spot for Cantonese style food. Great congee and Singapore lo ba (turnip cakes). Highly recommend the fried squid as well. Classic gee gwut jok should be the go-to as the duck egg inside is exquisite. The house seafood congee is also good but not as good as the pork bone/century egg variant. This restaurant is not for dim sum, but rather an assortment of many larger Cantonese dishes.

Dinner with friends at the Boyer Road location on Tuesday and Wednesday. Our server Jenny who served me before was there. As usual she was very friendly and helpful. She’s professional and patience. Like her positive attitude and services. Foods are also good. Strongly recommend this restaurant to my friends and will definitely come back.👍👍

This is what I like when it comes to Chinese food — huge portions for a decent price and amazing flavours. Bonus for the stunning interior, definitely a value add to the experience. I truly couldn’t get over the crab rice. I might’ve eaten way more than I should’ve!

Congee Queen has been a number one choice of Chinese restaurant that our family always come for lunch or dinner. They offer a wide range of dishes at reasonable price point. The flavor is good in general, yet I find all their dishes are quite oily to my preference. The service is quick. I recommend you to come early to avoid the crowd during lunch or dinner time.

I wanted to try some authentic Chinese food so I decided to try Congee Queen. The restaurant was very full, but it didn't take us long to get seating. There are plenty servers and clean up staff all throughout the restaurant. You get a huge amount of food too. Serving for two can actually feed four or five persons. The menu was a bit confusing and the server was nice enough to help me.

Food and prices were great. We got so many dishes for $75 after tax and tip! The only thing is that the service is pretty bad. It takes a while to hunt down a server to place the order and it is so busy. The good thing is that you can join the waitlist online so you’re not spending the whole time waiting in the restaurant. I’ve been a few times and the last time we went the servers ignored us and when we spoke to them they wouldn’t acknowledge what we said. We asked for waters in the beginning and the middle of our dinner but after we asked for the third time we received them. Ordering was a struggle but it helps having everything written down including the item number to show the server.

I’ve been to this restaurant twice and, on both occasions, they were really busy. If you have a big group, it’s best to make a reservation as the queues can be long. Anyway, I find the meals at CQ satisfying this is one of my go-tos if I feel like indulging. I also go to their Yonge branch now and then. I leave the restaurant always happy, even if I just have a wonton soup. The meals are just delicious.

Place was very busy when I got there. I made reservations online a week in advance and still waited upon arriving. For our table of 5 the waitress put us in a booth seat and gave us a stool for the end to fit us luckily though my daughter is small so we were all able to fit into the booth seat but to say the table wasn’t the best would be a understatement. Took close to 15 mins for anyone to take our order so I wasn’t impressed with that. The food is ok to average in my opinion, my parents liked it and it was more for them but for me being Chinese I don’t see what all the hype is about this place it’s just ok. Portions are big and fair for price and food was brought out in a timely manner.

Congee Queen is definitely my comfort food. We always go there for many family events because we can try and share many dishes. Our usual order consists of congee, vermicelli, fried chili turnip patties, and spice & pepper salt squid every time. They always taste good and maintain their quality. Recently, we tried the empress fried rice, and it was delicious. If you are a fan of eel, you'll absolutely love it! The general tao chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with a flavorful sauce. It's irresistible! The BBQ duck is cooked just right, neither too tough nor too soft. However, I found it's a bit salty. The service was alright. We went over the weekend, and it was quite busy. However, we had made an appointment, so we didn't have to wait. The entire ambiance was spacious, with plenty of tables.

Quick service and consistently good food. Expect to wait for a table if coming for dinner most days of the week including the weekend. Restaurant itself is very clean and spacious. Staff are friendly and efficient. Great value for food. My family will typically order about 8-10 dishes totaling around $150. Large portions too! Would recommend dine in over takeout due to portion size for same pricing.

Food is SO delicious and the food came flying out. The foods are well flavoured and there are decent portions. The portions do vary for some reason though, so keep that in mind. The Chinese donut with beef rice roll is fantastic!!! Another favourite is the general Taos. Might’ve been an off day but the rice was super dry and unflavoured. Service was quick. Only thing we noted was how sticky the floor was in the corner we were sitting. Plus the washrooms need some attention. Otherwise great for big get together!

Good food, large servings, fast service and reasonable prices. I love their salted fish fried rice and spicy pork chops. Always a busy restaurant but well worth the wait. Highly recommended.

This place is always busy and rightfully so. This is THE one stop shop for Cantonese-style Chinese fare +more. Although busy, this location has an efficient system and I’m never waiting too long. Portions are huge so bring lots of family and friends, or you’ll be eating leftovers for days! I don’t mind, I can eat those spicy fried turnips for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Firstly the ambiance is just so inviting. Service was quick even though they messed up on one order. Whatever we needed was brought so quickly and the food came pretty quick and tasted hot and fresh which we loved. portion wise I would say pretty decent. Would def go back. In terms of hygiene it looked like everyone was on top of their game and CoVid protocols were being followed diligently

We visited on a Friday evening and the wait was surprisingly not very long. We only waited about 20 minutes then opted to wait longer for a booth (it was nice of the server to ask if we wanted a booth). The food also arrived very quick and was delicious. We had a great experience.

One of my favourite chinese restaurant chain. Their food is delicious and authentic. They always serve hot tea once seated and their menu options are plenty. Family and kid friendly restaurant. The place feels huge as their ceilings are high which I like as it doesn’t feel too cramp even when the place gets busy. I love their congees, seasoned just right and in huge portions. Most of their plates are good for sharing. Fast service and the taste is always consistent. I recommend coming in on weekdays because weekends are extremely busy or make a reservation ahead especially if you have a big party. I highly recommend dining in, as chinese food is best eaten as soon as it comes out of the kitchen. This way the food textures would always be at their best. The only con I would say is that their roasted pork is a bit too salty for me. Maybe it’s just when the day I ordered or maybe that’s just how they season it. Other than that, I mostly love all of their food.

I was visiting the area for vacation and came across this place since we were craving Chinese food. This is a popular place with a lot of people. We waiting 30 minutes and got seated. Service was great and the food is even better! Would come here again!

One time experience. Food was heavy, quick service, i loved their mango chicken. It was flavourful. Over all cleanliness could have been better. Like the front glass towards bbq station could have been cleaner. We had a complaint about food and unfortunately there was no apology. However they replaced our plate but the wait time in getting the new dish was quite a long to break the tempo of the food.

Impressive establishment able to churn out an extensive range of Cantonese food to a large crowd. Long lines waiting to bag a table speaks of the popularity of this place and its tasty and value for money cuisine. Definitely must try a porridge dish and the roast meats. Stir fry dishes are good too.

This is my goto place for Cantonese-Chinese food in Brampton/Mississauga. So much that I even catered half the food for my backyard, COVID wedding this past summer with them! If you're coming for dinner, I would definitely recommend reservations - they fill up very quickly. Their menu is very extensive, and most of the food is very well made. I've come here for fried rice/noodles, congee, and their rice with side dishes on numerous occasions, and the food has always been up to par. I have noticed that the portions are slightly smaller when you order takeout, but I'm assuming it's because they take the cost of containers and bags into account. Service here is generally very good, though you may have to get up from your seat to flag down a server at times. My last time here, we ordered a fried noodle, a rice topped with runny egg and shrimp, sweet & sour fish, and salt & pepper porkchops for two people. Everything came to the table hot, fresh, and oh-so-delicious. The only dish I had an issue with was the rice, which I had asked to have changed to a fried rice base, that was missed completely by the server, so that was a little bland. Otherwise, everything was spot on, and we ended up taking the rest home for leftovers the next day.

This location is pretty new. Very high ceilings with nice lighting. Food is great. Specially the BBQ dish and the sweet and sour chicken. A little disappointed for the veg and mushrooms.

This is my to-go place for weekend meals or family gathering. There is a variety of foods to select from the menu. We always order spicy turnip cake, 2 choices of BBQ with noodles, chuhau pork, and mango slush. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, suitable for family events. However, it's a little noisy, typical asian restaurant style though. The staff takes orders fast. Even during peak hours, you do not have to wait long for foods.

Been here multiple times and the service is amazing and really good food. This location is always busy especially during the summer times! I got lucky and walked in without any waiting for a group of 6. Restaurant is super pretty inside and is very clean. I will give one star off since I felt they changed their recipe on a lot of the main dishes, example the empress eel fried rice was mainly just rice and very little toppings. Overall great experience.

Food tastes great, service was fast. Went on a Saturday, lunch time. There’s a bit of a lineup so get early, but line moves fast. Great for group, family and even with smaller kids. Plenty of food choices and can get confusing if you’re not familiar but the menu have pictures. Serving is huge. Servers are nice too. Clean and plenty of parking. Very well priced and good quality.

We were told congee queen is a must go restaurant when visiting Toronto. There are many congee queens. We selected this one because it's close to the airport. When we arrived we were surprised by the grand scale inside! It's well decorated and full of people! We were also surprised by the size of the orders! I think it's very good dea in the sense that you can take the left over home. But since we only stayed for a night and couldn't take leftovers with us, I felt like I was wasting a lot of food! We consulted with the waitress about what to order with just the 3 of us and would not like to have leftovers. She didn't give us much help. I guessed it's hard since most of dishes are to be shared with a big group of people! They do have a menu for single order of noodles plus some small dishes for one person. But it's only when all you want is a noodle soup!

Couldn't understand why it was extremely crowded on a Monday evening until ... we started to eat😍. You enter and see people waiting. So I saw a screen and reserved a waiting number to be notified on the cellphone. When placed, I went to toilet. It was so gross🤢 likely too much clients. The good news: the food🤡. How? I don't know how to explain...because the ingredients were fresh and cooking skills topnotch??? The taste of every dishes were so unbelievable tasty. When it entered the mouth, it felt so smooth, fresh and hot enough I could still taste it. And yes you may argue it looks greasy😒, but the traditionnal cantonese food is greasy from the start🤩. If its not, then it is not canto.🍻

I've seen better plating for the empress rice but the efficiency of staff (vs other branches) is always excellent. the bbq pork belly (lechon) has the same warmth of the staff but it's nothing to fret about with the whole dining experience. overall not bad, i was treated for dinner so i didn't get to order the usual congee with shredded port and century egg, but this super-something isn't that bad. for 20 dollars it can feed 5 hungry men by itself!

Have never been to Congee Queen before. Being a picky eater, I was surprised by how tasty everything was. Food was reasonably priced, portions were a bit small but that was fine. Turnips and Fried Tofu were really tasty, didn't expect it to be as tasty as it was!

Always good for some quality and quick Chinese food. We go here regularly and food is always reliably good. They may not all speak the best English but they'll get your order in, the menu has lots of pictures and food comes really quickly. Their congee is always a go-to for us (flavourful and comforting!). And if you haven't had fried turnip cakes, get them! We usually get Cantonese chow mein, or the Empress Eel fried rice (both delicious and satisfying!) But decided to try their pad Thai on our last visit. Wasn't the best we've ever had, but not the worst. Good flavour, lots of noodles and hit the spot. Always a staple for some quick, yummy Chinese food!

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The menu is huge but it was a little confusing. However the server was helpful and answered our questions. The service was very quick, the food was tasty and the food quantities and prices were reasonable. I’m not giving it 5 stars because the host wasn’t welcoming and even though the place was not busy, we were seated at a table that had not been cleaned yet and it was situated at the very back of the restaurant (last table before the kitchen) and there was a cart filled with dirty dishes left right next to us.

  • 5/5 Jon Yip C. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing food, excellent quality and reasonably priced in a nice setting. Congee Queen has fast become on of my family's favorites since opening this location. Food quality is on point here and dishes are consistent and prepared with care. Service is fast ableit not the most attentive. With such an expansive menu we try a few new dishes everytime - our favorites so far being the Chicken with Special Sauce, Beef Ho Fun, Fried Squid Tenticles, Sizzling beef and mushrooms, and shrimp cheung fun. That said, we really enjoyed everything we have tried so far and honestly have no complaints!

Congee Queen is a very beautiful but busy place . It worth visiting , celebrated my daughter’s birthday there yesterday. To avoid waiting so long, please book for reservation in a timely manner otherwise we will have to wait. However the meals are super good. Good customer service I must say. Thanks guys!

We came here as a family of 4 and sat down in the seat immediately to the left as you enter. The experience was ok. When we made our order, the waitress repeated back our order and we confirmed it was correct. Unfortunately when stuff started coming out we noticed a few items missing that never made it out. We asked about it and they said we never ordered it, they also asked if we wanted it still but we politely declined. The reason for the 3 star is because of the ordering issue. The other issue we had as a party of 4 was that the table was very small and it got crowded with 3 dishes and we had 5 in total. The food in my opinion was pretty good, but nothing special. Just some good quality authentic Chinese.

Awesome awesome food . Loved our dining experience here . The place looked grand and had huge seating options for large groups . Our server was very nice and friendly . Each and every dish we ordered had a unique taste of it it’s own and was simply delicious . We ordered fried rice , fried tiger shrimp and chicken with mango and lettuce wraps with chicken and seafood ! The quantity was more than what we expected . Overall lovely dining experience . Do give this place a try !!!!!!
