Absolutely terrible service. if I can put a negative 10, I would do it. In April, my Yorkie was getting a haircut by some new girl. When I picked up my dog, I almost bursted into tears. Not only did she cut him very short, she also cut his paw. Before that he was cut by Elisa very nice girl . I had an appointment for July, which I had been waiting for more than a month. When I arrived, they told me that I should reschedule the appointment , or they could take him, but it would take 4-5 hours. Seriously??? Why would it take that long to groom a small dog 4-5 hours?? I said I can't, I have to go to work. I went to the manager, said that this is not acceptable, to wait more than a month and didn’t receive a service. I told him that the girl who called herself a “manager” rude and I don't trust her with my dog. Now I got blacklisted))) Is this after I was denied a service that I had been waiting for more than a month? I won't recommend anyone to go there.

The groomer did a poor job with our puppy's cut. Very unsatisfied as the groomer shaved our dog down. Went in for my appointment and the groomer was running late- not at the store yet. We walked around the store a bit and returned. Her co workers were nice enough to check us in on her behalf and do a pre-assessment for matting (no mats). We selected a haircut length from their board, showed a picture of the desired cut and left our dog feeling good as the groomers here usually do a great job. Were told it would take 3-4h. We got a call less than 3h later to pick up the pup and she is shaved down and patchy. Some parts are shaved right down to the skin. The cut around her tail looks awkward as the rest of it was kept uncut. Ears were shaved down despite us wanting to keep some hair on there. Perhaps the groomer was rushing the bath and cut. Gave 2 stars as the other groomers were super friendly and helpful and we usually have a great experience.

My recent trip to Petsmart on Lawrence Avenue was a letdown from start to finish. The fish tanks were a mess, with some fish chomping on their dead buddies. Michael, the guy incharge, seemed uninterested in doing much about it. As I was excitedly checking out the fish, Michael's lazy tank-cleaning effort didn't match my enthusiasm. He was sponging off the front glass, mixing dirt with water. There were dead fish stuck between the glass and the filter, making the whole scene look like a weird "fish salad." I asked Michael my questions about getting a fish. He told me that with 3 gallons fish tank I could get a shrimp or come back after I get a bigger tank. I said I I will upgrade my tank because I have Amazon prime and I have some 5 gallons tank in my cart which can arrive tomorrow. Michael shut me down with a blunt "Yeah, I'm not gonna sell you." Confused and frustrated, I wondered if there was some secret rule I missed. Seeking help from another staff member, I got scolded by a lady who told me to find someone handling pets. Not the welcoming vibe I was expecting for my first time at Petsmart. She said “Yeah, there is a button press that!!” and gave me a look. I felt so upset because it was my first time at petsmart and people treated me like I am stupid with their look and tone. Anyway, I again said Michael that I can quickly get a bigger one because I have amazon prime which will be delivered tomorrow morning. I explained I am so excited to get a fish today and take best care of it. He said “yeah Im not gonna sell you” and I got mad at his tone. I said “Who are you exactly? Could you show me where does it say that I cant get one? “ I asked for a formal rule. “I am not gonna sell you a fish” is a bit too confident for a worker to tell a customer. No written authority, no formal right. But he said “yeah I wont sell you. Its my choice.” Then I called my boyfriend to get me a bigger tank tonight and he said okay. Because I didnt want to buy from them. Then I said Michael that he will find a tank for me before I arrive home. He said “show me a picture” and I got mad I said “where does it say that a person has to prove you the tank size?!” and he kept saying “Im not gonna sell you, you can get a tank from us so I can sell you a fish” I said “ I can get a tank from anywhere today why would I buy from you.” Then he said “you can talk to my manager if you want” and the manager said that just because I said “he will get me a bigger tank tonight” after I told “I have a small tank” simply they assumed me of lying. I could have lied and gotten the fish at first place but I wanted to be honest. They blamed me for lying and the way of selling “Im not gonna sell you” sounds so rude and bad. I could have said I have 30 gallon tank and put the fish in a teacup? Who would have known? Nobody. Although I explained thousand times that I understand they are trying to be protective, accusing me for lying or asking for proof is beyond limit. If they could have showed me a written terms or rules, I would have accepted it but this is not okay. People cannot decide spontenously who to sell products and who not to sell. Also, forcing people to buy tank ONLY FROM THEM to get a fish is a sh*tty selling tecnique. Despite the hurdles, I pressed on to get a fish. The manager helped me with a nicer tone and showed me a betta fish. In a very small cup. The irony, right? Finally, I got a betta fish, but the whole experience was embarrassing. They made me almost cry. I understand the tank size is important (for sure!!) but nobody can prove them the tanks while the fish at their own store dying and kept in cups. The only thing I am happy about saving a betta fish kept in a smallest (coffee cup size) cup to save money (Bettas cannot get along with other fish so many trashy pet stores keep them in very tiny cups to avoid giving each of them separate bowls) and yet they are talking about tanks sizes. You first keep your own fish alive!! Because right now, my Betta is very happy to have a friendly, loving owner despite their accusations.

My recent visit to this location was a delightful experience. The store was clean, well organized, and stocked with a wide variety of pet supplies. The staff was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable, assisting me in finding the perfect items for my furry friend. It's evident they genuinely care about pets and their owners. I left with everything I needed and a smile on my face, knowing my pet's well being is in good hands.

This location is clean. The staff were kind of helpful. I arrived at 9:40 pm December 16 2023 knowing that the store closed in 20 minutes. The first thing that Kevin said was that they are about to close. I acknowledged with a laugh that “I know”. I came here for cat tunnels and had checked prior to my arrival that they had my items in stock. I asked one of the female associates about one of the tents. She said she might have one and it’s at the end of the aisle. Wasn’t one there. The other male associate wasn’t helpful either but I left with one of the three items I came for. I had a separate female staff member remind me three times during this twenty minutes of the exact time.then Kevin came and found me as I grabbed a cat scratcher and said he needs to walk me out now. It was 9:55. The he said it’s 9:58 as I’m grabbing five treat bags at the cash. The female staff told me to hurry. He came and started to grab my items from me to scan because “the time”. I’m literally beside the cash. The thirty seconds isn’t going to ruin the night. The fact that the male and female were together bullying me out of the store when I’m paying $300 in products (receipt available if needed to confirm this whole ordeal). He’s shouting at me to tell him my number to speed the process but couldn’t hear me so she had to relay my number to him. Yes I’m the only person in here. Yes I’ve worked in retail and customer service for well over a decade now. Yes I know it’s annoying when customers come and it’s Saturday night however I’m not getting cozy. I said I’m getting specific items ! I spent $300. This is unfortunate to treat customers like this. The stars are only for his wishing me a happy holidays and have a good day (it’s night but whatever) even if it was sarcastic.

Got our lil small pet recently. Very good overall experience. This location was clean and organized. Staff were knowledgeable, experienced, and polite while serving customers. Staff were confident and helpful with answering questions and concerns. I felt supported from start to finish with my order. Thank you 😊

The cashier was amazing. Very helpful. I forgot to get his name but I came in to look for a hands off leash. He was able to demonstrate the leash and let me try it on. Amazing customer service. I enjoy coming here when I am in the area!

I don’t live in Toronto and I am coming from out of town. I have gone to this Pet Smart before. Staffs are knowledgeable of their live fish products and care as they are experience of them. The only side I look down at is buying fish from Pet Smart back in my hometown of London, Ontario. I spend a lot of betta fish from $14.99 to $26.99; which mainly are the higher premium ones such as the dumbo, black orchid, blue mustard, rose petal, glofish, etc. They are fine and healthy. No ammonia or any diseases since the day I bought them. Even recently, they only last me a couple months or under. Even my black orchid male betta passed on me and have him almost a month. No diseases and ammonia. His fins and everything are in perfect condition. He might been the average lifespan for a betta, but it should not passed away like that. I will still continue buying my betta fish from Pet Smart. It just a FYI (For Your Information) sometimes a betta or any fish can passed away on you and even it is not your fault. Many beginners have not master their knowledge of cycling their aquariums, test for ammonia, check what their fish needs, etc. it takes time to learn these stuff before you buy fish. I have done my research. Some of the betta fish that passed away likely have graphite disease, columnis or they are sold to their near average life span hence your betta May live near its old age. Next time, I am going to buy their premium betta and they are expensive for a reason. Yes, Pet Smart has a 14 day (2 week) warranty of your fish that passed away, but must bring the fish body, receipt and water sample of the aquarium where your fish passed. If anyone who cannot handle with fish passing away then you should not own a pet fish and find a new hobby besides a pet fish. That is part of having a pet fish. I will always remember the best betta fish from Pet Smart. Will visit again as I regularly visit Pet Smart every week.

Absolutely terrible customer service experience. They will not sell me a small goldfish because they allege that I only have a 25 gallon tank and not a 30 gallon tank (even after I told them I will get a new tank). I had previously bought my tank in the same store after another associate told me it's sufficient for one goldfish. When I tried to ask them about the store policy they immediately got defensive. They were awfully rude and called me insane. Terrible customer service.

My experience with Lawrence Square PetSmart was incredible! As soon as I enter, I was greeted with a very warm & inviting welcome from Kevin. When I took a look around to care for a fish, Ivan did an excellent job providing me with details about different types of fish. He was very knowledgeable! After I found my fish I took it to the register and again Kevins enthusiasm really made my transaction extremely smooth. The store itself is pretty clean and easy to navigate and lots of parking space. Overall, incredible experience at Toronto Lawrence Square PetSmart and will return!

I bring my dog here for training and I must say the trainer Tatiana is AMAZING. I have a rescue who was scared of everything and her help and support has made a huge of a difference, he is a completely new dog now. My dog loves coming here and gets so excited when I tell him we are leaving to see Tatiana. Thank you Tatiana for everything!! With gratitude - Max's mom

"Beginners Training" was held by Tatiana at the Lawrence Square Mall made the class informative and fun. My dog is 1 year old and now understands basic commands that we couldn't figure out, correction takes time but we have a good foundation to continue correcting so we don't have more damaged shoes, sofas and more at home! We understand better some behaviours and we also saw how other dogs improved as weeks passed by. I totally recommend Tatiana's classes and will continue with the next level.

Very disappointed with PetSmart. Today I went to this PetSmart and bought a lot of stuff. $537 worth of stuff to be exact. Upon cashing out the cashier had asked me if I wanted bags which I said yes. You would think that he would have suggested reusable bags but instead just went ahead with putting everything into 2 paper bags. I mean I spent a lot of money already, what is a few bucks for bags that will hold all that weight but instead he just threw it all into paper bags. As expected, on my way home the one bag had fell apart and threw all my stuff everywhere. Now I need to figure out how to get all my stuff home. I then called the store to express my frustration with this situation and had asked if they could provide just a little bit of instore credit to my account to make up for this and he had said that for anything like that I need to call customer service and provided me the number as they cannot give any credits only can deal with in store issues. I called the number he gave me and to my surprise they told me that I need to call the store and speak to the manager for anything like this as they cannot provide any credits, they only deal with online purchases. After this I have decided that I don't appreciate after spending so much money, which I do frequently, being treated like I'm just chop liver getting the run around from customer service and from what I later found out was the store manager as well. I am no longer interested in giving my business to PetSmart and will gladly buy any pet supplies from other businesses. I was even talking to the one employee about how I can go about buying my supply of pre mixed salt water from PetSmart as you are a little cheaper than the store I normally buy it from every other week but I am no longer interested in giving PetSmart any of my business. I have included photos of everything purchased from PetSmart today including the receipt and the broken bag to help understand how much stuff was loaded into 2 paper bags...

After our cats favourite canned food was discontinued, we have been struggling to find a replacement for them. We spoke to a young man in the cat food isle, who was so knowledgeable about the product, and could list off the ingredients of almost all the brands they carried. He helped us find the brand that was most similar to our past choice, and our two cats love it! Wish we got his name! Will have to come back and thank him!

NEVER will be going here again. This is the second time I walked out of the groomers, with my dog not able to get his haircut. No one mentioned anything about an expired shot, nor did I get a notification. The lady, Nicole, kept assuming I had someone at home that could take a picture for me. My vet was also closed. I didn't appreciate the fact that nothing was warned about, as I waited months for this appointment. Nothing was also available in July. I will be HAPPILY MOVING TO A NEW GROOMER. The accommodations are awful, I literally felt like they wasted my time.

Website is constantly glitching. Can't order crickets for my gecko. Please fix this - I understand it happening once, but it really seems like there's some negligence/ignorance going on on the part of PetSmart at this point. Fix the issue, and I will give you 5 stars as I have no other issues with the service.

This petsmart location is awesome! I got my first fish from them. Thanks to their super helpful staff, Devan (I don’t know if I spell it correctly) even I arrived at the store before closing time he still assisted me all through out. He also give me some tips for food and taking care of my fish. Thanks to him I got my first fish.

The staff at PetSmart are super friendly. Tatiana, our trainer really has a passion for what she does and is extremely knowledgeable. She takes proper time to get to know families and their dogs. When training sessions end it makes you feel very proud to see where you were when you started the session and what you came out of at the graduation. The meaningful interactions with Tatiana are why we keep coming back for more sessions.

I love this store a lot. I bought so many good stuff for my cat. Staff are very friendly. Even one time, they didn't have the thing that I was looking for, but a guy there found my product in another store by calling them. They are amazing. You are not wasting your time and your money by going there. They are very clean as well

I watched one of the employees remove two budgies from their enclosures with a small net and then grab them by their tails to get them out. They were frantically flying around the enclosure. As a bird owner, that is absolutely not how they should be handled. Birds can die from high amounts of stress. If someone doesn’t know how to handle the animals, they should not have applied for that position at a pet store, nor should they have been hired. I told the cashier that the way the employee handled the birds was a bit aggressive, and he said he would let them know. Later, when he cashed out my friends (who he didn’t know I was with), he called me a tree hugger. I will not be returning to this location.

I have a German shepherd, and I have been going to this store since I got him at 6 weeks. He's now 3 years old. The best staff there is David. He is a kind, helpful, caring gentleman. Once he's there, I live very happily. In my opinion the rest of the staff needs a bit more patience and empathy. Prices can be expensive if things are not on sale.

All the staff are very nice here but during a rush the lineups can get pretty long, upwards of 10 minutes in the worst case. Pretty sizable selection of animals and pet products relative to other locations in the area. Traffic outside at the intersection of Lawrence and Marlee along with the turn onto and off the Allen Expressway can add extra time to your outing. Ironically there is almost always somewhere close to park so at least you don't have to walk far.

"Kevin made our day" is going to be the biggest understatement of 2023! We came in to get a few things for my brothers first dog and he made the experience more memorable. He was pleasant, kind & funny. We need more people like Kevin, happiness is contagious and he was sure to spread it to all his customers today! We will be back soon! Give him a well deserved raise!

Food, toys, snacks, shampoos and conditioners, toothpaste, leashes, clothing u name it they got it! I really like the spray on conditioner I can use between the baths. I loved this place, check it out!

I like here my dog likes to come to be groomed the store is clean and pet friendly...I don't like that appointment for grooming services takes 3weeks to get. I think they should have a 1st come 1st serve basis as well as appointment. Most ppl also like to just walk-in because it's near their home and then to be told u gotta wait 3 weeks for an appointment 🤨🤦🏾‍♀️

Excellent service, I was helped by Tatiana who they call the “The Dog Lady” she was very knowledgeable and took her time to explain the benefits and cons of what type of food I should switch my dog to in order to loose weight. She is very personable and funny and sincere, I was very happy with my visit 😀

I just went to this petsmart and met a lovely cashier I believe named Kevin and his coworker Brittney (if that’s how it’s spelt), and they were so wonderful. Such warm individuals in my 2 minutes of exchanging a burnt out lightbulb. Thank you to them. It’s truly so rare to find lovely people like them. Cheers.

Had purchased a cat litter with the full price. Associate recommended we become a member to get the discounted price. He really went above and beyond, had to go through the refund process for the purchase that we made with the full price, enrolled us for a membership (which took like a minute), re-purchased the litter with now the lower price. Great!!!
