I've been waiting to see a dermatologist here to get a cancer screening for a mole for six months. I showed up to my appointment today and they skipped me for being five minutes late and they scheduled another appointment for me six weeks out. It's insane to cancel an appointment for being five minutes late -- the clinic is really hard to find. Plus, the screening downstairs takes at least five minutes. If you want people to be on time, tell them where the practice is located in the text confirmation and tell them to expect a delay for COVID screening. The woman working was really kind, but the business practices of this place are insane.

They’re not exaggerating about the costs. The cost for specialty services are astronomical at UC health hospitals. You’ll be charged $1400 for an ultrasound procedure that would cost under $500 at a freestanding location that’s not attached to a hospital. I was scheduled to get an ultrasound, and I had to cancel that appointment and delay getting a diagnosis because I couldn’t afford the astronomical costs. Their clinics are a different story. They’re actually pretty good. Their clinics are good and cost effective and I’m very happy with my physician at the Greenwood Village medical clinic. Do everything you can to avoid their large hospital locations, because they tack on a lot of extra fees, but you should be alright going with the clinics

I'm going to consult with an attorney. I had an appointment for weeks to get a MRI at this location tonight. 40 minutes before my appointment, James called me and said that there was a problem with my insurance and that I could only have the MRI if I agreed to pay them out of my pocket over $3,000. Then he put some AWFUL woman named Carol on the phone who screamed at me and said if I came into the office they would call the police on me. I never, in any way said, I was going to go in and was trying to understand why they would call me so last minute....and it didn't make sense because I have met my annual deductible and out of pocket insurance expenses. UC Health is trash and a horrible organization in general.

If I could give a zero star I would. I can't emphasize enough --DON'T GO HERE! I went last April for a Well visit with a Primary Care doctor at the practice. Thought she looked nice and had new insurance so just chose the practice from the website. Spent 20 minutes at my appointment where the doctor asked questions and I answered, then she did a quick physical and when asked if I had recently had blood work done, I responded no and they took a few vials of blood. Next thing, I get the breakdown of costs from my insurance company on an Explanation of Benefits: $304 for physician, $1361 for Hospital misc. (I think the basic CBC blood work?) $270 Second Physician bill, so charges of almost $2000 for a quick well-visit (??) After some back and forth with insurance, whittling down the bills, I still owe about $300 for my well-visit. They wanted to call it an "establishment of care" but I never returned...in fact decided not to get a mammogram with them as I assume that they would gouge me for that too, when that's supposed to be a covered appointment like a well-visit!!! I went to a different care provider later in the year and did not receive outrageous bills like this office does. I have followed all their bogus procedures (requesting medical records/pursuing it with billing and insurance) to get this corrected and rectified and they still refuse to do anything. Bottom line (straight from the office manager) is that you cannot get a well-visit as your first appointment and so unless you want to pay an astronomical fee, find somewhere else. I can see the reviews here and on YELP and I'm not the only one frustrated with this blatant money-grab. MY RECOMMENDATION- GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!

PREDATORY BILLING! I saw a retina specialist at this clinic and got billed several hundred dollars for "hospital services". I wasn't at a hospital! I called and challenged the charges and a very nice guy eventually called me back and told me that because the consent form they make you sign (which of course nobody reads, but we should) says that they're going to bill you like you're at a hospital, there's nothing he could do. He told me he deals with numerous complaints like this every single day (what an awful job). He explained that UCHealth has three regions, north, central and south, and the central region has decided to bill everything as though you're at a hospital whether you're actually at a hospital or not. I can't believe the insurance companies let them get away with that. North and south regions don't bill that way. I saw a different retina specialist first (Colorado Retina Associates) where they did all sorts of imaging with numerous machines, injected dye and did more imaging and with all that I was out the door for $395. I went to UCHealth for a 2nd opinion. They took one quick pic, looked in my eye and charged me over $850, and that's after insurance knocked it down. UCHealth supposedly operates as a nonprofit which means they must show that they are somehow benefitting the public. I filed a complaint with the IRS challenging their nonprofit designation because this type of billing practice does not benefit the public. I will never set foot in the UCHealth system again.

Yes, I echo with all other reviewers. The worst service I ever got in recent times. 1) Yes, the facility fees are ridiculous, even when you get virtual appointment, they charge facility fees. 2) The billing department is just unbelievable. They screwed me up and the bill almost went to collections. I was given wrong information 2 times and still they wont stop the check from going in to collections. They sent a bill 11 months after service date, even though insurance sent the EOB 10 months before. 3) The service is also not that great either. They are not available most of the time. And they confuse you with different charges.

I'd give yall 0 stars if I could. Went to see Dr. V. VARHATHALA. As I've been in chronic pain for 3 months and none of my drs could figure it out. I told him I'm struggling w wanting to go on, I started to cry a little bit. He handed me a tissue said I don't like you or your vibe. I refuse to help find a cause or help you. If you calm down and call my office back I'll put in a referral so you can get a nerve block at the main campus but you have to be monitored. Then proceeded to kick me out of his office. Which I did call for 3 days in a row to no avail. Afterwards he literally abandoned me as a patient and told me he refuses to help or refer me. Now I'm back at square one with no pain alleviated. He should have checked on me mentally or expressed care and compassion like his website claims. After I called the patient advocate line and spoke to a supervisor named Jill who promised to call me back. Never did. The office actually gaslight me when I called to tell them my experience. They said dr v feels uncomfortable working with you and is not going to place a referral. I told the man I wanted to die and was thrown out. If that's acceptable to your office you should be shut down. I've called countless times trying to get help. Or an apology. These are the most soulless people within UCHealth. Avoid at all costs.

In 1965 I was injured in the Vietnam war and since then I have been in pain 24/7. The V.A.admited that they did not have the qualified surgeons to operate on me. I was referred by the VA to UCHealth. The neurosurgeon who operated on me on April the 3hd.releived me of the pain. In fact when I came out of the anesthetic I wasn't sure if I were alive or dead as I had no pain. Well I turned and saw my wife, ergo I was alive. The first thing I said to her was that the pain was gone. 55 years of pain to go to no pain was life changing. Do I recommend UCHealth, you better believe it!!!!!

Other reviewers saved me from the surprise of high facility/hospital fees so even though I chose NOT to go here (for that reason) I wanted to add my own review to help others decide in the future. I needed an x-ray and UCHealth made it easy to get estimates comparing their different facilities, of which there were plenty to choose from in Denver. Here is an example of the huge cost difference between facilities that do & don't charge hospital fees (this is specific to my insurance and only meant as an example): Lone tree: $478 Cherry Creek: $51

I don't know what has happened to this practice, but I had a normal quick physical with the same physician I had been seeing for several years , only to get a surprise bill where I was charged for another visit in addition to the physical. I asked the physician why I was being overcharged and the physician confirmed nothing other than a normal physical was done, so I should dispute the charge. I called to file a formal dispute, and after trying to resolve it for multiple months failed to get anywhere so just decided to email the physician to let her know why I was no longer going to see her as my primary, and decided to pay the bill and move on. It is sad but based on other comments others have had the same type of unethical billing issues. We have used UC Health for my entire family (different providers and different facilities) so would note there are many good UC Health facilities - but I would recommend saving yourself the trouble of visiting this one.

I was going to make an appt. with a new primary care doctor at this facility, so glad I read these reviews. They must hire someone to respond to all the unhappy clients. To them I say Much Thanks, you saved me.

I went in for a sensitive scan regarding a difficult potential diagnosis. They were not kind or compassionate. They were dismissive, loud. There was no quiet area to wait, the employees were just talking about random things/their lives in the hallway where I had to wait. They were 45 minutes behind schedule at 8:30 in the morning. I will not go here ever again.

You will be cheated, disrespected, and lied to by the people working at this office. CU medicine would be wise to shut this place down and fire all service providers and administrators; none of them here know how to do their job.

WATCH OUT! Dealing with surprise billing from the hospitals doctors after we were told that they were covered by Atnea. Now our insurance company wants us to stay away from doctors that are at hospitals because over the extra charges that they add on in which it is almost double what you would normally pay by going outside of the hospitals doctors. I've tried calling mutlitple times and was not treated well.

I went to see a neurologist who was a “specialist” in my condition. He failed to read my chart, referred me back to the other specialist who discharged me for completing treatment and refused what I originally came in to do which was to make a medication adjustment. I reached out to the patient advocates at UC health who never responded or addressed the issue. Super disappointed after waiting for 6 months for this appointment.

My review is specific to the third floor (lab) desk. After a smooth check in downstairs, the woman at the desk upstairs called us over to inform us there was no lab order, to which I presented her with the summary printout I was given so she could see what was ordered. She told me it was not a lab order and to call the doctor who ordered it. Then after actually looking at the papers told us that where we needed to go was actually across the parking lot. So why the bad review? Well, her tone the whole conversation was condescending and just rude. We were not the only people who were at the wrong place, but the others didn’t get called over by her. This is her job that she chose to take and none of the patients are there for their own amusement. I certainly didn’t take my child there for this type of experience. Please get people working there who will make a potentially uncomfortable and scary situation better for patients.

First, they charge a facility fee for every appointment. Even telehealth. I have no choice but to visit my doctor in the doctor's office. A facility fee is a theft. Like I can see my doctor in the lobby or the parking lot. You are taking advantage. My doctor had just closed her private practice and began working at UC Health. I wanted to continue seeing her. I made an appointment. Saw the doctor as a follow-up/continued care patient. When I received my bill you would have thought I had a minor surgery. $572 billed! My insurance paid them $184 and now I am expected to pay $388. For a follow-up visit, we agreed that I should continue to take the same medications and nothing more. I found discrepancies in the medical billing. I tried to let my doctor know but it was impossible to speak with her. The only avenue given to contact her is through the portal. I never get replies so I can only assume she is not seeing my messages. I filed a formal dispute and their findings led me to believe they didn't even review the test results that prove my position. They are a huge organization and there are barriers to keep you from communicating with your doctor. I know my doctor and she is a good fair person. I refuse to believe that she would be okay with how I have been treated if she knew. I see that many others have also had horrible experiences similar to mine at this facility. The responses to negative reviews from UC Health reflect their impersonal and dismissive approach. Don't go here if you can avoid it.
